@@vigilmidnight7989 Keyboard keys are way closer to each other so you have a way harder time to coordinate clicking 3 simultaneously. You are either struggling with the piano or not sweaty enough in Apex ;)
in a way this dates all the way back to the very first quake. Its taught in bhopping to stay away from your w key because it slows you down in the air but quake speedrunners found out a long time ago that if you tap w only when you hit the ground you work against the natural speed decay of hitting the ground in the first place and get crazy speed.
I never got good at this, but I'm pretty sure it works in Counter-Strike too. And since that game gives you a 50-50 chance to keep going or slow you down, the w-press should help when you get a "bad hop" and don't keep all your speed. Too bad CS is terrible nowadays...
It technically works with all legends but due to the nature of the movement, its only recommended with octane since he's the only who can keep his speed up.
Hey Gruic, 2 questions. Do you have any tips for controller players? And would you be keen to jam sometime? I'm hardstuck diamond this season but really love the game.
Unfortunately I am not very knowledgeable about controller movement, but I've heard that there is a CFG file for controller tap strafing if you are PC controller. You can give that a try if you would like. Sure I'll add you and we could play sometime.
My brother is controller he tapstrafes everywhere , he bound it to arrow down and he also double binden jump and W to the action so when he presses arrow down he jumps and tapstrafes at the same time
How are you holding your mouse, so that you're able to shoot and scroll at the same time? Are you scrolling with your right-click finger, or are you holding the mouse 1-3-1?
Don't know if this makes sense, but I shoot with the same finger that I scroll with. Like I take my finger off the scroll wheel and then left click and then bring it back to scroll wheel really quickly
You could also export the video at a higher bitrate too. It seems that the video is quite bitstarved. RU-vid also reencodes your video to lower bitrate after you upload them and yes as above comment says export the video at a higher resolution than native such as 1440p or 4k because youtube's 1440p and 4k has a higher bitrate which means it'll look better even if the actual resolution of the recorded video is 1080p.
I saw the figure 8 strafe video first and I thought you called this the "paedo strafe" I even thought about it and concluded it was because the side to side sweeping motion was 'creepy'
Are you pressing the W key at the same time as A and D or is it inbetween? Because in the video it looks like it's at the same time What I mean by this is, are you using 2 fingers to simultaneously press AW then WD or are you going like AWD quickly then DWA with your ring finger, middle and pointer fingers then the opposite in quick succession?
just found out theres a name for this but I've been doing it for a while now, not trying to claim credit or anything bc fk all that. Just cool to see that it's now a movement tech!
How do you tap strafe without moving your mouse to the direction u r strafing ? I already tried to do this without moving my mouse but it didnt seems to work is my mouse the problem? Or am i not scrolling long enough?
Do you have crouch on hold? i think that is default for ctrl, but i am not sure anymore since it's been a long time that i have used ctrl for crouch and rn my game is updating. :)
Is this how Faide run away from enemies when he uses stim? I’ve always wondered how he doesn’t lose momentum when he bhop while standing(not crouching when bhopping)
lol, i dont wanna complain or smthing, but i searched up "neostrafing without cfg", didn't find anything viable and randomly found this video. I don't know why people search this up, i literally found "pito strafing" on my own while learning how to tapstrafe, i've never payed any attention to it nor did use it in battle. But seeing this technique in action brought up some good memories from a year ago or something.
this is something that has been bothering me since the dawn of apex; i seem to always get glued to the ground when i try to scroll wheel bhop. any idea why that happens? my best guess is some netcode shenanigans
@Tetra _amv uhh it's a struggle to find. if i understand correctly he has two channels and both of them have a ton of videos that show up for search "tap tutorial"
