In other words, the energy lost as sound is minimal and does not significantly affect the overall performance of the catapult. Now, regarding the choice of material for the slappers tip, whether rubber or metal, it's important to understand the role of the tip in transferring energy to the projectile. When the slapper is released, the stored potential energy in the tensioned rubber bands is transferred to the projectile through the tip upon contact. While rubber tips might seem like they would be more gentle on the projectile and thus transfer more energy efficiently, in reality, rubber is a less efficient material for transferring energy compared to metal. Rubber is inherently more elastic and tends to absorb some of the energy upon impact, leading to a loss of momentum. In contrast, metal tips are typically more rigid and provide a more efficient transfer of energy from the catapult arm to the projectile. Additionally, metal tips are less prone to deformation upon repeated use, ensuring a more consistent and reliable performance over time.

Having the slapper on top of the hang actually doesnt make it easier to climb, since the hang still has to lift the weight of the puncher up when it lifts up, so you cant have as many bands on it. The weight of the robot is still the same no matter where the puncher is
