Every single one would have been traded for Class A prospects if Nutting was the owner during the time that these legends played

mediocre prospects at that

I honestly would say Honus Wagner is the greatest Pirate all time. They have him ranked as 1 of the top 5 players all time.

Love Stargel, but no way he is above Clemente.

I wouldn't even put him above wagner on this list but clemente was the greatest player in pirates history he may even be in the top 10 baseball players of all time.

The Pirates of the mid-late 60s were absolutely tremendous with Clemente, Stargell, Oliver, cash, Stennett, Hebner, Robertson, etc. I consider myself fortunate to have been around to witness many of these games on KDKA radio and TV, as well as seeing my first game in Forbes field and numerous ones at Three Rivers. It was a great time for baseball before the free agency era and the Steinbrenner types ruining it for the small market teams. I have to disagree with this ranking though, nobody can ever eclipse the talent and broad influence that Roberto Clemente had on the entire baseball world. Pops was a great player and teammate, but the offensive and defensive skills that Clemente exhibited are still considered to be one of the most talented ballplayers to ever have lived. I still remember Bob Prince and Nellie King calling games and them sometimes enjoying a few too many iron City beers! them were the days!

Wow. I love baseball and the Pirates. I’m devoted. And this video was so annoying that I couldn’t make it through the first player. Worst.

Totally agree. It's an insult to Wagner just as a start.

Fond memories of Willie Stargel. The way he prepared to swing the bat. Miss those days.

The Pirates didn't win the world series in 1948.

Arky Vaughan ought to be no lower than 3 behind Wagner and Clemente. He was far superior to Kiner and Stargell.
