I’ve listened to this piece since I was in 7th grade. Now, I’m going to play this for my senior year coming up next semester! Already hitting it hard with practice. Amazing arrangement!
This never fails to make me incredibly happy. Whenever I get frustrated with my practicing and start to feel down about marimba, this always gets me excited to keep going.
It really all started when I was learning the Goldberg Variations. I got tired of standing, so I sat down on an organ bench to practice, but I felt totally at home when I did that. So I kept doing it. It helps me with balance.
I attended your master class this weekend in Portland and really enjoyed seeing you in a teaching environment. This is a great arrangement. All the best
I have listened to you play this over 300 times, and I feel like I learn something new everytime. I would love to meet you in real life just to learn to improve my four mallet capability even more. I wish to become as endorsed into my music as you. You are a great idol
Mister Cheung, what a wonderfull surprise !, you get the essence of it ! Piazzolla would be very proud of it, and you do it so well ! i feel lucky , thanks, infinite duty for this gift !
Sir if I may ask on simple question, I’m a relative intermediate experienced 4 mallet player. What do you suggest to someone to help them excel with more difficult pieces ?
Is it easy to arrange guitar music for marimba? A typical guitar soloist isn't playing more than 4 notes at the same time and you have 4 hammer things?
Pius just a question, i bought this music because i like this arrangement so much i have to learn it, on bar 5 count 3 there are 3 16ths in the right hand and I can't help but notice you just play a quarter note, is there a reason for this or did it just sound more majestic? Btw you are a beast of a marimba player
Thank you for your compliments. Re: your question, honestly, it's a little different everytime I play it. So just do what feels right to you. Thank you for playing my arrangement!
