I just started getting back into scripting nd character/story designs for a pivot series like their were alot of when it was huge. Glad to see im not the only one still animating years later.

Huh, I find it pretty interesting that the standard framerate for Pivot became 18fps. The main standard for animating as you said in the video is 24fps, but it's common to skip frames (so the common rate actually becomes 12fps unless a faster motion requires 24fps). Can you elaborate on why it happened that way? I'm thinking maybe because there's no way to have motion tween between frames, and the nature of puppet-animation that Pivot is based on.
Does anybody know a good software to edit the finished gif files? My gif files habe excellent quality but when i put them in like camtasia or filmira the gif wil lag, not move and even looses its perfect quality
Don't export as a gif. export as a PNG sequence. if you want to post process your frames, Photoshop is the best option. if you cannot afford photoshop and or dont wanna pirate it, your next best option is Gimp. Gimp is open source and feature rich, it has more than enough for what you could possibly want in post processing. the most important thing though, is to keep a piv of your work so you can export it again when pivot's options get better. Gimp is not user friendly, but its the best free image authoring program.
sad thing is the old stick nodes could handle over 1000 frames but now it can only handle 200 frames it could do this spacing if it was like to old stick nodes
time codes on your frames? Your pivot 4 is antiquated my friend. 4.2.6 is out and according to Peter, its stable. Also I think your antiquated 4 shows different fps values, to get true 18 in the last 3-5 versions of pivot 4 is 17.5. 17.5 will yield an avi at exactly 18 fps. This is a pivot PSA for EVERY pivot animator who wants to use sprites for text: Use gimp not paint! Gimp is open source, it costs nothing, and its feature rich, but most importantly, it lets you DISABLE AA on the text tool. This applies BEFORE typing. the text will be jagged, but pivot counts in pixels and you don't want AA for imagery you use as sprites around the edges or you get those horrible white outlines. Stop using mspaint, its garbage. Get gimp and look at the tool options. Also gimp now has a single window mode. Also: want your line to fit your canvas size? Make the document the size you want the finished video to be (like 1920x1080 for example) and then write your line as you want it to appear. Then when you load it in pivot, size it down to 50 or 33 depending on the difference between your desired resolution and canvas size. Then when you blow up the frames for processing, the sprite will be at 99 or 100 and it won't look terrible. Also if you use sprites at all, even one, Don't save as an svg sequence. Inkscape will shit a brick if it loads a pivot made svg with sprite data in it.
