If you're an idiot Buy pixel for camera because its *Slightly better* The s20 FE literly does everything better (FYI the Pixel 5 does not have a stock UI because you can't uninstall Google apps)
Lol I wonder what the people that were walking around and driving were thinking seeing some dude with two phones running and walking around in essentially circles
@@shakilhassan6963 You can control the level of HDR and exposure compensation. At least I can with GCAM. But it's much worth it to get FE and install a stable GCAM port if you prefer Google colors for human subjects
What pixel does for its selfies is crank up the structure and down the highlights. Structure and highlight are calibration options to edit photos, they are present on instagram edits as well. Speaking of the bright background selfies, you can get the pixel like result on s20 by tap focus or tap exposure adjust on your face. Which will brighten up your face and blow up the background.
The Pixel 5 isn't as wide as others, better use photosphere for wider pics on the Pixel 5. To be honest, I am really disappointed by Pixel 5, as Google is using the same old h/w on their Pixel devices from the last four generations, now according to me, the iPhone 12 pro max will be the new camera king as it has the new sensor-shift image stabilization with TOF 3D LiDAR scanner. I think Google doesn't care about their Pixel devices anymore and it's high time for Google to upgrade their camera h/w...
@George Azzopardi Oh yeah if I switched to Android I'd definitely go for OnePlus and pair it with GCam. Google's software is great and all, but they really need to update the sensors on their phones. I've seen GCam samples of the 8 Pro and the colours look so good
We expect comparison between IPhone12 mini vs S20FE vs 1+8T vs Pixel 5 comparison (all specs)! 😅😅😅 Note- I'm watching this video in 480P how can I notice which camera is better 😅😅😅
@@tomle2553 well thank you I was thinking of purchasing new device ...How is your over camera experience front back both...Is it worth the money which you have invested
@@nikhilrocks8128 absolutely. It's the best camera phone I've ever owned. But I came from a 3-4 year old S8. But tbh I think it's solid. Portrait is great. Wide angle solid. Selfies is doable make sure to change it to the 32mp though.. but I don't take a lot in general so I'm not the right guy to talk about that.
Never thought I'd see the day Samsung had the more muted natural colors lmao. Front facing though the pixel is still better mostly due to stabilization and reducing or removing that disgusting beautification. Rear the pixel really kills it with stabilization and the video looks smoother but I think I prefer the quality and detail in the FE
For me the Fe is just as good and when You add all the extra features of the Fe better chip more colors and way better deals ..sorry pixels let's not forget color is always subjective always
Just found your channel for the first time. The opening test with the audio switching blew my mind. Without a doubt the best phone comparison video I've ever seen. Great work and thank you for being so thorough!
Pixel 5 for the win front camera produced better color and let in that natural light ,and video stabilization was seamless on the pixel 5 as well,as far as long shots the galaxy wins hands down, and outdoor texts were more clear on the galaxy, color was better on pixel 5 to me
So damn helpful. Thank you always. Battery and camera are what matter to me in a phone. I've been loyal to Google since the 6P. Thought about going back to Samsung because the UI is so much better but I think I'm still thinking Pixel 5! Can't go wrong either way
S20 fe has wireless charging/Reverse wireles charging, ip68, better battery 4500mah, expandable storage, latest snapdragon 865 vs pixel 5 that uses a midrange 765 processor. There is no real difference huh lol
@@icequeen6259 a) he was talking about cameras. b) pixel 5 has wireless/reverse charging, ip68, battery gives nearly identical SOT, but pixel 5 has a brighter display and more ram. They're both not perfect, so the difference basically comes to what you value more -> more professional camera or slightly faster launch times. excluding the ui differences of course
@@glebheinke8402 SOT would never be the same. Also s20 fe has 120 refresh rate pixel only has 90. No expandable storage on an android device is just blasphemy. I do agree with the rest of what you said.
That pixel 5 need's to do less fake hdr on the front facing camera...FE also needs some work on the skin tones/beauty mode. Google messed up the UWA...with that limited angle. Also... what's up with white balance/tones on your jacket(pixel 5)?
man... i didnt think i would live to see this, pixel 5 barely beats s20FE if not the viceversa i got to these conclusions s20FE: -better main camera video quality -better ultra wide video quality -wider ultra wide -better low light video quality on both lenses -has a telephoto -better natural bokeh on front facing camera + 4k resolution in video -better nightmode images with the ultrawide pixel 5: -better stabilization on all lenses -better main camera pictures -better ultra wide pictures quality -better dynamic range -better portrait shots from main camera(barely) -better front facing camera quality in both video and pictures (in 1080p) -better nightmode with the main camera very close, i wanna see how it compares to the note20ultra, i know the price gap is big but i wanna see the king of cameras
I dont think so, esp not while taking pics, look at some other reviews too, like Danny Wingets (might have spelled his name wrong) its why sammys wide angle takes much better night shots too.
@@ThePakistanChronicles it is more stable for the video, I know OIS got something to do with photo aswell, but when general ppl talking about stabilization, they are talking about video
There is good reason for that. 1. A higher megapixel camera would have smaller pixels which collect less light which would make low light worse. 2. Google's computational photography algorithms are optimized for that sensor. Switching sensors would have a lot of rewrite.
@@iSirTaki Why doesn't it make sense? Any hardware giant will be hesitant to add new hardware when you can improve on the existing hardware performance with better software algorithms. If Google changes the sensor/hardware for the cameras, it will have to test and retest ALL of it's photo creating algorithms from scratch which probably is a science project rather than to implement it in a phone industrialisation cycle.
@@_NotEnoughMana Proof that they had to rewrite it, that is a guess, i guess! So every game had to be rewritten if i change from WQHD Monitor to a UHD ???
Please also do a comparison with the new Xperia 5 II. I'm very excited about the choices we got this autumn with the Pixel, OnePlus, Samsung and Sony phones.
I would still pick the S20 FE. You can Install a GCam port in it🤣 I'm currently using a LG V30 with GCam and the photos looks far way good than the stock camera😁
Overall I like the Samsung better, but I am amazed how each and every Samsung phone seems to have really bad video stabilization. The details just disappear. This is even so with the A52s.
Pixel doesn't care tho. Phones are not the main priority of Google. They don't care if others surpassing them because those other brands are also using google 🤣. They didn't upgrade this enough but you might check the price. You get what you pay for.
Very interested about px/fe, Thank you. How responsive opening camera (point and shoot) and overall snappy/laggy are they? (Also was expecting shooting moving things or some extra special feat, even if not used lot astro, editing, pro modes etc... but hey, thanks anyway) also, to answer your q , tempted to go for fe, for more than cameras, just wondering if you can "feel the better specs.. "
Damn the Pixel is impressive, but the S20 FE is really good too! Prefer the ultra wide on the FE and having the telephoto is nice, but I’d still go for a Pixel just for the clean software and better update support. Never been a huge fan of Samsung software.
The s20 fe 5g should you get your hands on one may just change your mind...I think both phones are good but I own the s20 fe and I am blown away by its a a very very good phone in my opinion of course but like I said I do like the pixel 👌🏻
@@godofmyworld77 My partner has the S20 FE and it’s great! I’ve more recently upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro over the 11 for the cameras and display. Not going to lie though, I love what Samsung and Google are doing with their phones nowadays.
@Caden Churchill it's top dollar for what you get for your money...I was after the pixel but couldn't find one so bought the s20 fe and tbh I'm glad 👌🏻
I really love Pixel phones. I had one for the first time in 2019. I really considered going back to one this year, but I’ve decided to try Samsung. What this camera test tells me is that on paper superiority doesn’t always translate to better in application. To me, the video colors, stabilization, and quality from the 1080p looks way better than the 4K (in the first clip) from Samsung. If you only look at specs, you might be disappointed.
Okay I was expecting the S20 FE to win because of newer hardware but it seems the Pixel 5 has placed a reverse uno card because man I didn't expect that like even in Video even though that video tech is older still the stabilization and image quality with raw dynamic range 👌🙏😌😌 it's just legendary I was having mixed thoughts considering one plus 8t pro might come out few months after but no I am buying this regardless of the processor and will also but either a iPad Pro or Samsung Tab S7+
10:04 is the only instance in the entire video I would disagree with, the Galaxy S20 FE is clearly offering a way sharper, less noisy image, yes it is darker, but the Pixel 5 is also blurrier and not as sharp, not even close and I don't get what you mean by shadow detail? The detail on the S20 FE is way better, it's just as already mentioned darker. Anyways, great video as always.
The thing in my country, the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition price goes lower while Google Pixel 5 price is steady af.. Maybe I'll wait for Pixel 6 or IP11 so I can decide if I need Pixel or IP11? depending on the price... IP11 is much cheaper here now but we'll see once the release happen lol
@@ptgi.0176 where did you get that rumor? It's been years since samsung had that smoothening and whitening selfie which I hate, but they didnt do anything about it, so I really doubt that they would do that
software has its limits as well.. skimping for newer camera module and letting the software take control to save production cost is not really good as it really shows..
Look at that awful color science on the Samsung, all Samsungs have horrendous color science it's the only reason i don't opt for one, year after year same crap with their colors..
google just needs to stop being stingy and pump more hardware. they need more detail cameras. theyre close but the samsung takes this one. it would depend on what a person prefers, i think most male who take selfies would be ok with pixel, but not most women. but overall its undeniable win for s20 fe.
@@truthseeker6804 Nah it lost on the selfie cam, portraits, indoor night shots, video stabilisation, dynamic range...I meant that one pic of Saf with the sun behind him and the FE literally turned him into a shadow 😂
@@ssaini5028 selfie, potrait are subjective, go watch mkbhd blind public comparison where galaxies keep winning or close and pixel iphones are always last. selfie portrait is subjective to preferences. sure night video stabilization is better, night galaxy photos are way better all cameras. and that pic where galaxy focused on the sky, if youre saying it made him dark then we can say the pixel dynamic range was bad? lol. because each phone focused on a different thing since he was halfway inframe.
@@nmp244 galaxy has the better camera spec wise, theres a few things pixel did better, overall galaxy does best. even the ultra wide its an easy win for galaxy pictures day and night and videos.
What I fail to understand is that how difficult it is to introduce auto focus in an ultrawide camera? It gives you so much variety and its equivalent to a high quality added lens... I really think that an ultrawide lens without AF is some lost potential that shouldn't have been so.
If the Pixel can do this with a mid range chip, imagine what they could have done with a flagship processor. They could have used the 855+ with these hardware and named it 5 XL, at $899-999, I'm pretty sure they would have been flying off the shelf's.
if that's so,i wonder why they didn't use at least the 855, considering how stingy they are when it comes to hardware.maybe the 765 is capable enough to compete with any high-end chip in the camera department, back by Google's software magic.if that's the case, using a flagship chip wouldn't make any real difference.Google also uses outdated sensors.
765 and google's optimization isn't enough to compete with flagships, as you can see it struggling in low light. I'm sure if they we're using 855/855+ they could have done better.
Selfiecam video: FE is shaky and video is strange when you were moving (skin colours... hard to tell which one is more real) primary video: Pixel 5 has artifacts near stones ultrawide video: FE is shaky and colours are off FE zoom is better 4K60 both are shaky night video: FE struggles but pixel isn't much better
I don't know why each reviewer keeps on saying the same thing about the selfie cam on the S20 FE, cause when I used it today it was very good, the skin tones were accurate and it wasn't washed out at all. So maybe you are doing something weird with the settings, or maybe just the ones that first came out were not set right or something. So just so that everyone knows, the selfie cam is very good, much better than any Sony selfie for accurate skin tones. Oh and miles better than the Pixel because their selfies are always too saturated. Pixel turned this reviewer orange! lol
The Pixel's camera mains superior for old software, but there are still negatives about the Pixel 5 in general. I messed with a FE at a Verizon store and the only thing I hated about that phone was that there was only one speaker at the top. That throws me off.
Samsung has improved while Google have just remained in the same place. I have a feeling that next year google will also improve their cameras. Samsung just has to improve with skin tones and go for more natural colours and stop with beautification.
Ice universe rumored that OneUi 3 cleaned up all the beautification and extra processing. Even Samsung's shadow details now beats pixel. In lowlight Samsung has better dynamic range with harsh lights. I use GCAM and I don't know why it has taken Google so long to add that to night sight
Don't get ripped off by Google. If you like Pixel colors and processing for portrait and selfies or the Pixel camera app. Get it in the form of GCAM mod ported by XDA developers.
To be honest, I'm using my S20 FE with Gcam, and this fixes all my selfies but I'll say the main camera APP is just as good as Gcam on the rear cameras. Dudes, just buy the FE and get Gcam, 120hz and better processor and telephoto camera.
The 32MP sensor in the FE is great, You could even see some natural bokeh but Samsung's processing for selfies is just annoying. They make everything look so beautified and soft just like how most Asians like it. It's better to use GCAM to take advantage of the sensor. Hopefully OneUi 3.0 is rumored to clean up all the beautifying in selfies.
*the problem with Google Pixel is that they don’t have a globe wide distributor unlike the Samsung where you can purchase them like anywhere in the world*
I have used iPhone, galaxy & pixel in past. And tbh iphones & galaxies camera quality looks more pleasing for sure but i've always found pixels more realistic looking, which i love.
google 2018 we don't need second camera 2019 introduced second camera , we don't need wide camera 2020 now we have wide camera, but we don't have telephoto camera and we want you to buy this for 700$ 2021 now we have triple camera system it took google 4 years to understand something this simple , why you even need to be afraid of google creating skynet?
Not everyone is into cameras though... Honestly if I had a choice is take 1 lens with a smaller circular camera bump. Square bumps look hideous and it's sad that no one wants to admit it
@@mrsai4740 well the pixel hardware is actually the most disappointing piece of hardware.... 700$ for a 765snapdragon processor.... It's not worth the price...
8:05 people like me with minor nearsightedness use their phones to see details when they don't have glasses. So 30x zoom should be a very useful feature!
Thank You for the video SuperSaf. I currently own a Pixel 2 XL and I am planning to upgrade. In India, the S20 FE is available for 600 dollars, Pixel 5 at 800 and Pixel 4a 5g at 500. Keeping the cost factor in mind, I think S20 FE provides best value. I am a huge fan of Pixel because of their camera and clean software(with timely updates), and the 4a 5g model selling for 500 dollars in India could have been an option but it doesn't provide a display as good as S20 FE and it also misses on dust and water resistance. Besides S 20 FE has almost caught up with Pixel in Camera. It will take time for me to adjust to the Samsung UI. They have promised OS and security updates with S20 FE so that's also not a problem anymore. Do you reinforce my decision? I would very much appreciate your insights. Thank you again 💓
Gcam on samsung phone makes photos more worse. Totally not worth it. And in one ui 3 samsung will turn of beauty mode completely and camera software will get much improved so will be waiting for that instead
@@johncruz5001 yes it is true people who are on the one ui 3.0 beta reported that they removed the beauty and the camera quality has been improved. Specially night mode. We will see more optimizations and updates later on.
