I read through the rest of the comments and agree with their sentiments to you Grant! Thank you for continuing to do these evaluations. I know they are a lot of work but they are so useful to us.
Thanks Grant. Again, I trust your comparisons the most out of any on RU-vid to be accurate and unbiased. What I'm seeing is that the 7 Pro is a fairly big improvement on the ultra-wide and selfie cameras (especially low-light video), and a slight improvement on the telephoto, but the main camera is largely the same. There is a slight difference in image processing for the portraits that tones down the artificial bokeh on the 7 pro, which is better but this can be customized after you take the shot on the 6. I really like my 6 but right now my next phone is a race between if the 8 can control the noise and image on lowlight video across all cameras and the iPhone getting USB-C. It's going to be one or the other. If neither, then I wait another year.
Thanks, I appreciate the support. I agree Google still has some work it needs to do on video. You can dial back the noise in low light with the exposure and brightness sliders.
Detailed camera review, especially after shooting, click on the photo to show the image processing process to see how the processing speed of the machine is. Great. Thank you.
I recently switched to the 7 pro, and by far the biggest disappointment was that the selfie camera actually got worse. You can see it sort of here too, but especially when you don't hold it perfectly steady you get more blurr on the 7 pro and less detail when the algo smoothes it out. I am starting to regret not getting another 6 Pro after my old one got stolen. Could have used the 150€ price difference as I cannot really see any upside to owning the 7 pro rather than the 6 pro. If anything the 6 was slightly better.
IDK I seem to like Pixel 6 Pro shots and video better. On selfie shots and video, 6 pro showed more details, like the little hair follicle dimples, whereas 7 pro smoothed them out. I liked 6 pro sky colour better too, seems more natural colours.
great video. I have a 6pro and I realize that the difference is that the 6 uses a samsung lens and the 7 uses a sony lens. thus changing the temperature of the photos, being well observed in this video. sony lenses are photos with warmer tones and samsung are cold. But the post photo processing of the pixels are absurd.
You know. Since pixel 5 we didn't get any good software features for camera, which are worth using. Speech enhancement makes sound flat and generally bad. It is barely painful to hear. HDR makes video too bright and creates como artefacts. EIS makes doubling pictures, cinematic mode cannot identify objects clearly, so the best way of recording the videos of pixels 6 and 7 is to disable all of these "features" and enjoy stable picture with good white balance and exposure.
They're trying to keep up with the competition with the features and it'll take a few iterations to improve, but they needed to start somewhere. I'd personally appreciate a traditional pro mode, but they seem very reluctant to offer that.
Those who're thinking it's not worth it upgrading from p6p to p7p So yes there's no major difference in camera but the biggest reason to upgrade is heatup, signal and battery life which are way more better in p7p
Thanks, amazing content as always HDR video on pixel - big fail. Color halos around edges. Sharpness is very high, I think 60fps mode looks better even if the picture turns darker.
Pictures sure seem very close most of the time. there are some where I feel the P7P was just a bit sharper, as in 100% crop of the lower @ 2:23, and sometimes I prefer the colors of the P7P just a little more, as the greens are a little more natural looking
No discernable difference really ( just a few subtle differences) if you already have a pixel 6P, no point in changing to the 7P and best off waiting for the 8 or 9 series
Selling a new model that is almost identical is just money-making and certainly bad for the climate and the environment. But that's the case with every manufacturer. Keeping the Pixel 6 on the market for 2 years and providing updates such as just a color update for the camera would be better. (The Pixel 7 just has slightly different colors in the camera photos) that has to be said.
I have both phones and not sure if I have a problem, my 6 pro photos look more pleasing to me because the 7 pro has different colour temperature and brightness/white balance. This doesn't appear to be the case in your comparisons
The 7/7Pro are *way* cranked on contrast as well, blowing out so many dark details in lower light situations until the NightShot takes over. The 6/6Pro was much more neutral.
Hi Grant I do own a oneplus 10 pro, & i'm thinking to switch to the pixel 6 pro. Is it a good move? Does it worth the experience? Or should i stick to the 10 Pro?
You'd be better off with a Pixel 7 Pro probably, still the Pixel 6 Pro is an awesome device which has matured a lot since its launch, and it's still offering one of the best camera experience all around, you'd surely improve over camera and software quality, for the chipset the 10 Pro is still gonna be better, I don't like new OxygenOS to be honest so for me pure Google experience is thousands years ahead, but it depends on your personal taste. I'd say switching to the 6 Pro might be worth if you're getting it for a good price deal, otherwise consider the 7 Pro or stick with the OP.
Thanks for the comparison 🙏🏽 But, frankly, it must be recognized that what Google has managed to do is really strong, selling the same smartphone 2 years in a row just by changing the design tweaking the software and photo-video processing a bit and even downgrading the selfie and zoom sensors in passing, even Apple couldn't make people swallow this pill 💊 with its 14 and 14+👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎩.

Qualitativ sind beide Kameras auf fast dem selben guten Level außer das beim Videofilmen mit der Ultraweitwinkellinse die 7 Pro besser war.Ansonsten waren sie bei Foto und Video ebenbürtig.
@@GrantLikesTech zoom lens is better at 6 pro, daylight and lowlight situations. And front facing camera is better too. 7 pro have some minor updates in video quality, better portrait edge dedection. but not as much to change 6 pro to it. 7 pro have some reddish colors in face, lens flares, shaky video at telephoto. I think they uses ominvision sensor, it often gives chromatic oberations
@@chigga25 cause looked maybe hundred comparisons between old and new. P40 pro plus is still better in many situations, then s22 ultra, than new Vivo x90 pro plus, than xiaomi 12 s ultra. Pictures from new phones often looks very flat and computational
Honestly, the 6 Pro have gotten so many updates till now, the results have shown no significant differences between the two in my opionion. Definately the video audio on the 6 Pro is much better than the 7 Pro. Otherwise they both look very similar..
