Do you like where the direction google is going with the ai camera features? I personally love the audio eraser. I wish manual controls was also brought to the video recording side.
That's how it is with Pixel phones. At first you think everything is great, then when issues arise you enter denial mode trying to justify the money you just wasted, then you start to get pissed off and angry for believing Google would have resolved last year's issues with the new device. Then you just accept you're stuck with a subpar phone (for the price you paid) and learn to live with it. It happens like clockwork every year.
Had mine for a little over a week now. Definitely enjoying the phone, and I've found myself using the AI photo editing software way more than I expected to. Only thing I'm worried about is if the chip is going to stay fast 2-3 years down the road. I'm someone who keeps their phone for 3-5 years at a time. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Yeah the ai photo editing features are pretty fun to use. The phone gets 7 years of software updates but will the processor and battery keep up 🤔 hopefully it does well.
I'm loving my pixel 8 pro. Coming from the iPhone. I was bored with the 15 pro so I switched and I don't regret it at all. Loving my 8 pro and pixel watch 2
Yeah the good thing is that you can adjust the size of it. I found this odd since this was the first time I have had to mess with the font scaling. Thank you for your feedback.
@@ghtechreview Just wanted to chime in, I'm with you with what you said in the video. @SethKnows the difference is very noticeable coming from a 7 Pro as well. I can see it especially well in Spotify for instance, where the track & artists text is way smaller even though I scaled the DPI on both phones to match visually (about 440 on the 7 Pro and 430 on the 8 Pro). There is absolutely something dumb going on and it's bothering me as well, not a huge deal but it's still frustrating. Font size doesn't match display size like it used to.
Went from Samsung flagships to Xiaomi flagships and the Pixel 8 series tempted me to try it out glad I did, a simple clutter free android device is a pleasure to use and with the AI and 7yrs of updates is a win win. Especially as an everyday phone.
Have the 8 pro since a few days now, bought it mainly for the camera and the phone doesn't disappoint! Also some credits for the very good speakers btw
Audio Eraser is has a maximum clip length of 2 minutes... useless with this restriction in the most cases for me. Andy why only for Video and not for the Recorder to? In the recorder you need clear voice and no background noise most of the time.
I love the design of the Pixel 8 Pro its part of the reason i bought it and sold my iphone 15 pro max but the same old pixel problem is still there and thats poor battery life if they would fix it then the phone would be great
Great video mate. I know I’m 5 months late with my comment 😂. Just a question about the speakers. Are they evenly balanced? I hated the 7 Pro speakers because the sound was louder at the bottom and you couldn’t hear much out of the ear piece. I’m about to buy the Pixel 8 Pro but don’t want to if they sound trash. I’m old school and love speakers on a phone lol
Would it be better to switch to Pixel 8 rather than Pro as I'm not looking forward to get any pro controls for camera and don't even need the Video boost. Except for camera anything not good on pixel 8 ?
I'm debating between the s23 and the pixel 8. My last 3 phones were pixels and before that a Samsung. I don't really play games and I'll use my phone a lot for emails, and creating rough draft of Word docs using voice to text, as well as taking pics, scrolling, and watching videos. Any thoughts here are welcome.
Switching from the Sony Xperia 1 V. The only thing im bummed about is the audio output switching 💀 Having Samsung features like Media Control or MULTI APP AUDIO honestly spoiled me now that vanilla Android doesnt have those seemingly basic features lol
Someone else (on youtube) was able to take the temp between pixel and s23 and the temps were virtually identical for various tasks. Pixel got warmer faster for intensive apps and games.
I work as a purchasing manager at a finance firm, and we often buy a bunch of devices for our employees. We've noticed a trend where people tend to ask for upgrades for their Pixel phones at the end of each year. The main reasons they give are that their apps crash frequently, the phones perform poorly, and the battery life is pretty terrible. On the flip side, we've seen a different story with Samsung and iPhones, and many of our purchases have leaned towards Apple. They offer a better buyback program, and these devices tend to last comfortably for over three years. The main reason our employees upgrade these devices is because it's our company policy to do so every third year. It's interesting to note that Pixel devices, unlike some other Android devices, seem to lack durability. It's a bit unfortunate because they have a good concept but fall short in execution. The most significant issue I've encountered with Pixel phones is that they tend to become sluggish in the second year, and their battery performance takes a steep nosedive.
I had the pixel 7 delivered today and it's going back you can't save numbers to the sim but lots of things I didn't like so I guess it's the s23 for me
I had iPhone and used google related apps, and always saved my things on google as well. Switched to samsung and still use google stuff. I wonder if I'll like the phone or not? My main thing is the camera. Is it "point and shoot" type of thing? Cus with samsung the object has to stand still for me to take a good photo. Is this the same way?
Reviewers mention its 2400 nits display, but negiect to mention how bright the display gets in manual standard brightness mode ( using the slider IE when indoors) i know the standard pixel 6 display reached around 500 nits and the standard 7 around 490 nits in manual brightness mode.
Dude, where is the one month review? Everything that you said is already been said you didn't give us any information about what the phone acts like after a month. He's just gave us a regular review
I regret switching to pixel 8 pro from samsung. Its just so boring. Stock google OS is really not so exciting. Can't download themes or install icon packs. Its just all google stock.
Why is nobody especially the influencers not talking about the cheap feel to the use of the display touch, it feels like platic and hollow underneath. This is such a disappointment - after watching hours of review not one mentioning it as if this was a flagship smartphone feel to it, more like cheap china smartphone. I am very disappointed by my Pixel 8 pro and all the dihonest reviews online.
I returned mine due how slow it is to render any edits or generating ai material. It's clear the in device soc can't handle it and it's all done through the cloud. I'm going to wait until 2025 to see if they switch to tsmc and close the gap with the apple chips. I did love how smooth the animations were
According to a lot of Pixel owners their Pixel is quick, reliable, and somehow don't have any problems.😊🤣lol In all seriousness though all of Google Pixel 8/8 Pro "Magic" features aren't that Magical on a Pixel.
ive had mine since launch and its the most dissapointing device ive ever owned. i get lag when scrolling and heating issues on 5G, so i had to turn it off and stick to LTE. The heating issues continue when connected to Wireless Android Auto and it doesnt help that the battery life is also terrible. id switch back to my iphone 14 pro max if i could, but i traded it in at bestbuy when i picked it up, so imma thug it out with the pixel until the s24 ultra drops
You did not experience micro stutters all over the place? X, Mastodon, Reddit, RU-vid all of them have micro stutters on my device that I resetted already to see if its some kind of software issue. The other issue besides warping in the video is that it cuts off a few seconds in the end of my video which is simply stupid as I loose some sentences I spoke for a vlog or youtube video. I have to remind my self to let it go a bit longer before ending the video as otherwise it deletes the last couple of seconds.
Honestly I have the 8 pro and it's definitely no slouch maybe I'm just used to the shit that's called exynos but this feels smooth, fast and snappy and the battery life seems to be great. Honestly I am one that believes that as long as the phone feels good, performs well in terms of opening apps, the animations, downloading stuff, not lagging ect, lasts all day and has an average screen on time of 6-7 hours is great and I believe that if you want to game then just get a ps5 or a switch or a steam deck, a phone is not something that you should be gaming on, it kills the battery and it pushes the phone to its limits.
All I am saying is the chip is not bad, it's well optimised and it feels amazing, the battery life is great and honestly I am really impressed with Google, I absolutely love the pixel 8 pro and it's just such a clean android experience. Also it outperforms the exynos 2200 so it's a pretty decent chip I would say it's 8gen1+ performance/ almost A15
The fact that no one is talking about how GOOGLE phones do not connect via USB or HDMI to your TV is astonishing. This is single handedly the biggest drawback to this phone and any phone produced by GOOGLE. They are a leading tech company in the industry and cannot even provide a simple feature to allow maximum use of their product. If I would have known this upfront I would have paid extra for a SAMSUNG. @google
All the wallpapers that were shown in the video were generated through the AI wallpaper. I don't remember exactly what prompt I used. I think it might have been under the soft focus or the volcanic theme.
