Why Samsung dominates the android market ? Simple, availability. Samsung basically has options for everyone in almost every region in the world while Google does not. The second thing is that samsung ecosystem has gotten better over the years while Google is still doing baby steps with the tablet & smartphone productivity market even though Google had been making tablets through other brands (as well as their own) as early as 2012 with the Nexus project but the tablet never evolved from entertainment only tablet into productivity tablet like Samsung's, evident from the recent pixel tablet which was designed mostly to be docked as a controller for the Alexa home system and pretty much unknown to the rest of the world outside Europe & US. Unless Google starts to up their game in availability & ecosystem, Google will never dominate the android market.
I agree with the reasons behind samsungs market share. However saying google wont gain comparable market share to samsung is incorrect. Things can change in the mobile market. Google has better software and smarter software. With an age of AI and software intuitiveness, google has an edge that samsung does not have. Google also has the worlds best software engineers and devs so u never really know imho
@@lajoshang5942 how so? Down to Samsung's one ui its still android. On top of that u have never used googles software. Its leagues above samsung in fluidity, efficiency and intuitiveness. Samsung's one ui has redundancies on the quick tiles, samsung news stuttering, and worse there is so much clutter in the settings app. Ive used both and i can say google knows what their users want out of an operating system
@@johnle1723 Only Google fanboys think Google has the best software. They don't even have the best engineers and their whole software is full of bugs. I had a bug which didn't let me sort my shares albums in Photos and Google didn't fix it for months. Now Google maps in walking navigation refuses to turn the map in the direction I am heading. All of their software has different design language and is constantly unsupported. Even the pixels are full of bugs. Samsung make better software than Google and are the face of android for a reason. Google in 9 years accomplished nothing in their phones. They are still mediocre.
@@johnle1723 Please re-read the comment again. I was saying Google won't beat Samsung in this game if their availability & ecosystem still inferior to Samsung. No Amount of AI will save your company and boost your sales if your product isn't available to the whole world. FYI, Google's AI is laughable now at best, it even failed in the showcase.
I just knew about your channel and videos recently and they are just amaazing and professionalism to the max ❤ as i am a telecommunications engineer and i can tell how a professional reveiw will really be 😊 After some of your videos regarding exynos vs SD 8 Gen 3 for Samsung, i was settled for the S24+ plus (imported w/o warranty) as i am in UAE and couple of months back got the Exynos version and returned it back after 4 days as its thermals was frying my hand & pocket but i loved the phone for the display and slim ness (though wished its width reduced by 2mm) Now i am thinking to hold my horses a bit and wait to see what Samsung will do for S25 series Also was considering Xperia 1 vi imported but way overpriced plus some cons in your video that i didn't like for the price though the design, battery life and other aspects are from the golden era world
Thank you the review! I feel like it would also have been interesting to see the ultrawide and selfie cameras performance, in both photo and video mode. Your videos are usually more in depth, and thats why I love them. Any particular reason why you did not test these lenses?
Hi, maybe I didn't explain well, but Ultrawide is 07:32 until 08:06. I plan to make a video for camera comparison, so I tried to keep it short, hence didn't include the selfie :)
Could you make an Exynos comparison test in Hungary? I have got S24, S23, Flip6, Tab S9 too, and the Exynos 2400 performs very well here. Our 5G is older technology, but very stable. Would be intresting to see the differencies compared to Austria. I'm pretty sure, S24 would do better job than in your original test.
I am tired of posting these in this videos. The fingerprints are exactly the same. It's a software issue. You can in fact, use your fingerprint scanner when your screen is off on the pixel 9 Pro XL on the beta for Android 15
It strikes me that the Tensor G4 on the Pixel 9 Pro XL is being clever and throttling early during lighter tasks to boost thermal performance and battery life. For more Cpu and Gpu intensive tasks like gaming, the S24U shows it's extra muscle but the Pixel performs not as badly as I thought it might. Cutting through everything else, I just want to say that if you own either of these two devices you should feel happy with yourself. You have made a brilliant choice.
2:41 It looks like auto brightness was off. Hence why samsung was dimmer. (maybe its the temps im not sure) But i gotta give it to pixel for the fact that when cranking the brightness manually, pixel gets waay brighter than any other smartphone on the market today which is lovely.

Shutter lag and other camera problems (that have been present on every Samsung phones for years now) make it pretty much unusable when it comes to camera department. Yeah, all that hardware power is nice, lenses, megapixels, zoom, but blurry unusable pictures of anything with even slight movement (kids, pets, people...) should not be acceptable in 2024., let alone in this price range. All of the competition solved it (so it can't be that hard, right?) and Samsung not doing anything about it is pure desrespect to customers. Another example could be weak and soft vibration since S22 series. Users complained and what did they do about it, change vibration motor on S23 ? No, they added software feature to play vibration sound through speaker (completely unusable when device is in your pocket). If it wasn't for old glory, it would be pretty hard to sell half baked "we'll fix it with updates" devices like this. And Pixel is easy choice. At least that's how I see it (I've been using Samsung flagships for 7 years straight).
@@aashanyoutube and if you take photos inside a room, the dark areas get patches or chunks pixelated and digitaly lightened, horrible for a flagship phone.
Its just the software processing the information from the sensor differently. Samsung are notorious for amping up saturation and screwing up white balance
7:32 The Google Pixel phone will not be able to see the color properly because the Sun is focused on the pixel phone. If you change the phone holder location ,the result will be different
I really liked the color comparison with a dedicated camera. The only time i use pro mode on samsung whether be it for video or photo is because the white balance is off. And pixel seems to handle that better. Can we get more color/quality comparisons with a dedicated camera?
@@Nico-L the fact that you swipe up to go home from an app and the effing system takes 2 seconds to react with that trashy animation IS lag and not, not all phones do that, iPhone doesn't
@levipb1403 The "lag" only happened when you swiped from the side (which is in the case of the vid) when you normally swip up, it doesnt have the lag animation. Yeah their software are not as fluid or smooth as iphone :). Other than that I don't encounter any bug in software other than the animations.( I previously had xiaomi, oppo phone) Btw Im currently using s23 so I can assure you I'm not spitting some bs :D cheers mate
@@Nico-L I'm using an S24 ultra so I know what I'm talking about mate. The ugly green screen tint is another bug, just like how it overheats by using RU-vid or whenever you're watching content in landscape mode and swipe up to go to the floating window, every single time it lags AF and drops Fps
Why not test the signal strength in dbm? Also, you could compare the speed of 5G/LTE when the signal is lower. Modems most probably have different minimal sensitivity and speeds might vary a lot. Also a WIFI/bluetooth range test might be interesting data.
Thanks for the feedback. The short answer is I couldn't find a consistent way to retrieve that data through android API. The singal number from Android seemingly also consider dBm, even though I couldn't find documentation for it. If you know a better way to get the data without relying on third party apps it would be great to know 😊
@@techmo2020 I don't know a way to retrieve it through an API, but you could always look it up in the settings for both phones. Comparing signal bars across different phone makers and even different SoCs is inaccurate, as the signal bars are configured differently (i.e. one phone might show one more bar when the actual signal strength in dBm is extremely similar) I don't know how these signal information apps retrieve the dBm value, maybe you can try to decompile one app and hope the code isn't obfuscated 😂
There are 100's of Tech RU-vidrs in my subscription list and probably you are the one that really has stood out for me in the recent past as your comparison is little more scientific than the other youtubers as each one is trying to just copy the other. Really appreciate your work and looking forward for more content from you. Subscribed!
Not sure if you will be getting the regular Pixel 9 Pro... Hopefully we could see a real life battery tests between Pixel 9 Pro vs Galaxy S24 vs iPhone 15/16 Pro later
My battery life is still very good, but then again, I keep mine in Light mode. I'm disappointed with how infrequent Samsung has been dropping those promised bug fix outside security parches. They still haven't dropped the second comera fix, thermal fix, and battery fix.
My measurements show around 10% more efficiency. However, we need to find out how both of them will behave when Android 15 is rolling out soon; I wouldn't draw a conclusion based on a single test, but based on limited observations, you should see something like 10% better performance.
As shutter lag continues to plague Samsung flagships (I've used them for 7 years straight and each and every one had it, with many other camera issues, of course), it's not even in the same league with Pixel. Take a shot of moving subject with Samsung - you'll end up with blurry unusable mess, not even decent picture. Do that same with Pixel - 9 out of 10 times picture will be great. Great design, superb cameras, clean bloatware free Android experience, frequent updates - not many people care about benchmarks and processor details.
The only reason i will never switch back to any android from my iphone is shown exactly on 12:10 where it lagged on shutting down camera or any app,2 years on IOS never have i ever noticed anything to be slowed down or slower than it should be. Great videos man i will leave a like.
It's only a problem with stock camera app that too only on samsung.i have gcam and stock on my s23u.while gcam is perfectly smooth stock cam has micro stutter every time closing.bad optimisation
@@techmo2020 Ur videos hold attention it’s ur fault for me noticing this 😃 Sure we do what we want with our money I admit I’m tempted to go for the new pixel but still scared it will drop performance like my androids did in the past
After a long period of reflection between the two, I decided to buy the Pixel 9 Pro XL to replace my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’ve always been hesitant because I felt that Google didn’t quite measure up in terms of overall quality, but this time, I think it’s the right choice. I’m confident I won’t be disappointed. I've been wanting to switch back to Android for a long time, and I believe the Pixel is perfect for that.
@@jovk888-hs1qn Because of the voice command feature, which is flawless on Pixel phones, it's very convenient for me as someone with a disability. It allows me to write very quickly, at the speed of my voice, without having to type anything. I also like the simpler interface. I’ve had the S24 Ultra before, and it felt too cluttered for me. Apart from that, yes, it was a great phone, no doubt about that. I've never been able to get the voice command to work on a Samsung. It never functions properly, even though I always install the Gboard keyboard.
Don't fall for that BS. It's a 3 year-old TOC and a 3-4 year-old GPU. We already know everything there is to know about the chipset in the Pixel and it's definitely NOT setup for AI.
For me, the S24 Ultra is better as a photophone and simply as a smartphone. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is not bad, it's even very good, but, as I always say and contrary to what people say and think, Pixels do not necessarily have a natural colorimetry, they just have a constant colorimetry and white balance, very often pleasant , but not necessarily natural. On the other hand, this Pixel 9 Pro XL is clearly not a smartphone for me, or even a smartphone that I would recommend, I can't force myself to accept to pay at an ultra-high-end price, a smartphone with a mid-range processor, because it has a " G " logo on the back and because it is supposedly "super optimized", I will never accept that from Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi or Apple 🍏, so I will not accept it from Google 🙅🏽♂️ Ps: the only thing that for me, all manufacturers should have in photo-video, the "Dual Exposure" of the old Pixels, and the "Photographic Style" of the iPhones, these 2 features are so underrated, and yet, they are game changers. 🙏🏽
good thing people have their own opinions - regardless if what most of what you said is true... you will never force anyone to jump ship. Some will always praise and be Samsung fans others will do the same for Pixel phones, at the end of the day the consumer will spend their money on what they like. 🤙
so you cant recommend the pixel because it has a lesser number on the benchmark? who cares about the performance with such strong processors anyways? you wouldnt notice a difference if i put a sd8g2 in the s24 ultra. if you work with your phone and have to actually do heavy work load, okay. but for 99% of humans that just use their phones to swipe through instagram and tiktok, it literally does not matter. and even if we talk about performance, you can watch the heavy workload comparison between 9 pro, 15 pro max and s24 ultra, where the s24 ultra crashed because it overheated after 15 minutes. so what is it even worth then? on another speed test, same smartphones, which was about opening and loading apps, and then reopening all of them again + a 3 minute video rendering, the pixel had the fastest lap out of the three phones. and the price aint even an argument either, the pixel got more expensive, yes, but it still costs less then the others at UVP. the 15 pro max started at 1450€.
@@schwazernebe No, I can't recommend it because it's too expensive for what it is, and because its processor for what it claims to be is actually already outdated when it comes out.
