Ahh! Figured something out because of your advice about diagonals vs corners. Basically, when someone makes eyes and they have them as corners, I always thought that stood out a lot better than if they go with something more angular, even when it's meant to be at an angle on the face, and I prefer being able to see the eye like that if it's possible at the resolution. That's really neat - I had never realized why I liked them so much better.
