The first RU-vidr to have both Pixel Fold and my favroite phone Vivo X Fold 2 in person and compared them. Ive been waiting while for someone to do this video so thx. I think the Vivo X Fold 2 get over looked because it doesn't have global version. But its a really great phone if you have the patience to set the phone up it will take about 2hrs but after that its best foldable ive ever experienced and i have had Samsung Z Fold 2,3,4, Vixo X Fold and Vivo X Fold 2.
Hi Thanks a lot for your comments. You are absolutely right. Vivo fold are infact very good foldables and it's sad nobody mentions how good they are due to that being China only release. I wish they could release global. If they do I feel they will be smash the market in sales. Again, thanks a lot for your comment pls keep supporting me so I can bring more such videos. Thanks
Really enjoying my vivo x fold 2. Lightning quick, beautiful build, great front screen, incredible battery and even better fast charging and hundreds cheaper than the competition. Bit of a no brainier really isn't it.
Hi. I absolutely agree with you. Vivo X fold 2 is still one of my favourite phones. It's got everything apart from the 5x zoom. It's fast and good software with brilliant hardware. And the price is brilliant choice to go for it. Thanks for your comment. Please do like and subscribe and support me so I can bring more content like this. Thanks 🙏
@@Cool_Saf before this I had the galaxy z fold 2 that I got in 2020 and I said I'd have it for 3 years and get the z fold 5 in 2023. Little did I know back then how poor an upgrade z fold 5 would be from the 4 so was forced to look to the Chinese market and import. The Google fold form factor just wasn't got me, too short, tensor chip not SD gen2, extremely slow charging and if course very expensive so knew that was out the question. I wasn't too bothered about the periscope zoom, it wasn't a deal breaker for me and for the price, it was a steal. I got the 512gb version and still only cost £1370 at release. 512gb version of Samsung or Google you're pushing 2k. I wonder if there will be a x fold 2 plus like last year. The xiaomi Mi Mix fold 3 looks decent too but I gotta have this phone till 2026 now hehe
@@DaBlackSmokeMonster a very valid point. You are actually spot on with your assessment. If you are looking to keep the phone for another 3 years. Pixel Fold is ruled out straight away as Tensor G2 is fine now but wont be in 3 years. However, there is something worth considering which is the manufacturers software & security support. Both Samsung & Google provide 4-5 years of Software support if i am not wrong. I am not wrong Vivo also provides software support for 3 years i think. So you are still fine. Last year Vivo came up with 2 models in the same year purely due to 8 gen 1 had heating and performance issue, So to rectify that they introduced Vivo X fold + with the improved SOC of 8 + gen1. This year SD 8 Gen 2 is a brilliant SOC so i dont think they will release one this year. Mix Fold 3 is brilliant. However, if u compare it with vivo x fold 2. I dont see a huge difference apart from 5x zoom and slighly slim body which is not a big deal.
@@Cool_Saf thanks for your reply and information regarding the reason for a plus version last year. I wonder how they will improve the v fold 3. Lighter and thinner I assume, better cameras. Can't really do too much more. Anyway, not a problem I need to think of, maybe the v fold 5 will be my future phone or maybe Samsung will pull their finger out and do proper upgrades such as widening the front cover display. If so then maybe z fold 8 will be my next phone. Will be hard to leave a phone that charges 0 to 100 in 28 minutes though. Lol
@@DaBlackSmokeMonster . lol. You are right. Not much they can improve in V Fold3 apart from slim body and better camera. It would certainly be awesome if they release it Globally or Global ROM. However, That said. Samsung Fold 5 is a very good phone. Biggest drawback on that is the Narrow Cover Screen, Expensive price tag. But in software department Fold 5 is the best software experience in any foldable atm. They also have SPen support if thats important. But 1 good thing this year is there are quite a few options when it comes to foldables. Thats good for consumers.
this is crazy cause these are the two phones im trying to choose between. I preordered the pixel fold through verizon already but I leaning towards the vivo due to the 8 gen 2, faster charging, better battery life, indisplay fingerprint, more modern design, and more durable.(I know no ipx rating but a tear down shows they acutally have all the water proofing inside gaskets and rubber rings just not certifed.) The pixel I just like the size, and pure google, the setup is not that big a deal to me. 1 question I have seeing the size difference on screen from your review do you think the the vivo is alot taller then the pixel fold?
You are right...these 2 are the best folding phones ATM in market. Its pretty difficult to choose between them. However if you prefer to use phones in one handed mode and reachability and not have any finger fatigue and have timely updates and if you charge the phone overnight then pixel is best suited. If you are a person who travels a lot and plays high demand games and OK with the initial setup then vivo is better suited also it's $400 cheaper. I hope this helps. Thanks for your comment much appreciated and please do like and subscribe so I can bring you more comparison videos soon. Thx
@@ElPana507 yeah I def want to see what that looks like as well. I figured if I dont like the pixel fold (which i should get by next week) I’ll sell it since it’s still wanted and either buy the vivo x fold 2 or the oneplus open if that comes out to be a good phone of course.
@@ElPana507 yes OnePlus fold from the rumours seems to be a cracker as well. Hope it does not disappoint yes. Also the Xiaomi mix fold 3. Thanks for your comment and please do subscribe so you can be notified when I bring more content like this. Thanks again
Great review I've been looking on RU-vid for a companion between the vivo x fold 2 and the pixel fold. I have the vivo x fold 2 which is really good but I'm tempted to get the pixel because of that wider outer display and the overall form factor. I've not had the chance get get my Hands on experience to make the decision.
Thanks Andrew. Both are indeed brilliant phones. It's pretty hard to decide between them. Both are unique in their own way. However, if u want better one hand usage, stock Google experience, better camera with 5x optical zoom then pixel Fold is for you. But if u want better battery experience, bigger screen and don't mind the initial figgling with the setup and $400 cheaper then Vivo is for you. Hope that helps. Thanks again for your comment Andrew. Be sure to subscribe so I can bring more reviews like this in the future. Thanks Again.
You are absolutely bang on. I really dont understand why they took the 5x periscope zoom, which was one of the best features. I really liked them on x fold plus. And from what i hear/read from rumours that the next one 2+ will not have the periscope zoom as well, which is a bummer. The only new Foldable which has the periscope zoom is the google Pixel Fold. Thanks again for you comments, Please be sure to subscribe so i can bring more content like this in the future. Thanks again.
Hi. The performance for both has been superb. As far as notifications are concerned, for Pixel fold you don't need to make any changes everything works fine. For vivo you need to go to battery and to individual apps and allow access to them and unrestrict battery optimisation. That's all and all notifications will work fine...small tweets initially after that everything works fine. Thanks for your comments. Do like and subscribe my friend for more content from me. Thanks again
O yes, it does indeed. Both Pixel and Samsung are the worst in crease when compared to any other folding phone. Hope they rectify that in their next release.
The software comparison will take most of the video that's why I didn't cover much into that...however the vivo does support split gboard which is very handy
Vivo has IPX84. It can survive minor water splashes but cannot be submerged. They do have 3 years Software support vivo releases monthly, quarterly and regular security updates
@@Cool_Saf Greg Oldes just did the Pixel in the swimming pool recording underwater.. Again repairs support too sending your phone back China. Floss also showed most China only work Att and T mobile.
@@bad65dad yes ive seen gregles video. It was nice seeing pixel fold submerged in water, so as a consumer it gives u confidence buying it. i wouldn't dare to do the same with vivo as they only say its IPX4 rating. Also, depends on your region where u live the repairs depends on that. Here, in UK if any problem with the vivo we need to sent it to china for repairs which is a nightmare. thats the biggest con of buying chinese phones.
@@Cool_Saf Right too much money your paying for without faster service. I also have my Z Fold 3 keeping as a backup only loving the better battery life and the difference in Google phones only apps which runs so fast it's fastest than my Z Fold 3. Google AI is amazing on this phone.
@@bad65dad I absolutely agree with you. Fold 3 is still a good phone. I would love to see the foldable market grow and also pricing low but that's a long distance wish I think. Lol
Both worthy contenders for the 2nd best foldable. But also both lag behind the Samsung Z fold 5, which is clearly the best. But glad someone else has finally entered the game. Samsung needed someone to push them even if these phones barely push much.
Hi. You are absolutely bang on. Z Fold 5 is overall very refined and polished, all apps are optimised. Its good that so many foldables are now out which will push Samsung for delivering better foldables. As consumers its exciting times ahead...
@@jonathanreid7785 i personally like the Xiaomi mix fold 3 compared to fold 5. Camera, battery life , design, feel good in the hands...all in favour of Xiaomi
I seen that too I have the Z Fold 3 and the pixel Fold nobody does that to their phone with the force he used. The Pixel is a beast after a week of battery learning put it's worth trying only 900 no trade in Att. But also did great in dirt test also.
Both phones are brilliant in their own ways...but u r right...if u want a foldable phones without faffing around...then yes pixel fold is the one for you. thanks again for your comment. Please do subscribe so I can bring more content like this. Thanks
How can you spend 5 minutes of a 9 minutes video talking about the outer screen of a folding phone, i don't understand, i thought the main attraction was the inner and larger screen, if the outer screen was that important why not just buy a better slab style phone, like the pixel 7 pro, iPhone 14 pro max or the s23 ultra, i don't get it, since the pixel fold came out the main talk has been the outer screen
i probably didnt realise that i spend a lot of time talking about outer screen. Maybe i should have dwelled more on the inner screen. I will make sure i spend more time on my coming video about detailed review about Pixel fold. Thanks for highlighted it.
Vivo is better but have Chinese software and text messages take to long to receive and using a watch on vivo is also a issue .I prefer the vivo but the software and problems connecting watch is deal breaker.I have pixel not happy with charging speed so slow compared to vivo .Battery life on pixel is useable but vivo crushes it .Choose wisely
