toughangel17 like could she be anymore extra like she just did an effing battmatte in the middle of the song. And the hair flip at the beginning like im lost
+sassy54546 A lot of their old movies have such powerful, realistic meanings and could actually help a lot of kids today. Tru Confessions, Pixel Perfect, Buffalo Dreams...
***** Yeah well I never heard of it when I was growing up. It was one of many Disney Channel movies that I didn't know about as a kid. Hell I didn't even know Shia Labeouf did anything for Disney Channel outside of Even Stevens until 2 and a half years ago.
Spice Princess During that time, I was living overseas in West Africa, and in Ethiopia. During those times, I would only come to the US in the summer. I didn't grow up in the US my whole life, so that explains a great deal of why I missed out on so many Disney Channel movies growing up. The only ones I actually remember from before I turned 10-11 years old were Smart House, Alley Cats Strike, and Miracle on Lane 2. Most of my memories of Disney Channel movies come from the High School Musical series, Cheetah Girls series, Stuck In The Suburbs, Read it and Weep, Life is Ruff, Wendy Wu, Jump In!, movies like that.
When this came out I was too young to understand what it actually meant. They used Sam's voice but made it seem like the other girl was singing because she's skinny, blonde and pretty, just like today. There are a lot of normal looking people like Sam writing songs and singing but they never get noticed because they don't have "the look".
I have brown hair and all my sisters are blonde.... all the lads at my school I liked were blonde. Natural blonde people are definitely beautiful.. I always wished I was blonde naturally, still do.
This is a good scene because it proves that though Loretta rocks at "Nothing's Wrong with Me", she sucks at singing something actually relatable. Being "perfect", she has no idea what insecurity and crushes are, no idea what she's singing about. She's so happy and flirty at something that's supposed to be down-to-earth- she even does a flip out of nowhere! But people love it cuz they want "perfect", not real. Oh man I love this movie. Such a good message, as well as a cool story concept.
***** The 2000's consist of a decade, from 2000-2010, so why would the middle start with 2003? The middle period of a decade always starts with the midpoint. Anyway it's obvious we're not going to agree, so u have a nice day.
I feel like that hologram is just way, way, way too bubbly for this song. Like, this is not a super happy tune; it's basically a lament about unrequited love, and she's bouncing around and grinning like she's at a beauty pageant? And the audition guy doesn't think this is weird?
+FlattsFan183 I thought that the dance moves were weird in general, not just for that song but in general. I just cant get passed them even today years later.
+Dallas Ball I never even thought of it this way but you may be right. She is just a computer program she knows nothing about real emotions just what she has been programed to know about. Thank you for giving me a diffrent perspective on it.
+FlattsFan183 Of course, that's the point. And the audition guy? He's looking for one thing: does the performance "pop"? Can he market this band? Will it pull people in? The meaning of the song is window dressing for him... it's great if it's a good lyric, but he's all about the $$$$.
*Disney Employee:* "Hey, guys, I finished working on that song for Pixel Perfect, but I just realized that it sounds a lot like 'Complicated' by Avril Lavigne." *Disney Executive:* "No, problem, we'll just hang a giant poster of Avril Lavigne in Sam's bedroom. That way, we can imply that Sam is heavily influenced by Avril Lavigne in her songwriting."
Was i the only one that cried at the end when Loretta's spirit thingy had to leave and she took over Samantha's body so she could feel the rain for the first time. Ugh, i seriously blubbered like a baby lol
Notice Me and all of the other songs from the movie actually were sung (and written!) By Spencer Redford (Loretta). She had released a CD the same year this movie came out and they used her songs.
And.... Spencer Redford doesn't seem to explicitly get credit for her songs (credited to the Zetta Bytes if credited at all) and... she seems to have fully retired to point that she almost could be said to have disappeared 😶
What's interesting is that this movie is so real in the face that the music industry is all about appearance and imagine, Same clearly had talent and can sing but the hologram with her movements and looks received the attention
so i was randomly singing this song & i was like "where have i heard this song before"? so here i am lol. pixel perfect was my fave childhood movie ❤ diesney was the bomb back then.
Carmen C Lol, people say her character from originals is boring and want her to die off the show :( why she's an amazing actress and my childhood. Her character is strong and is worth being on the show. :)
Absolutely one of my favorites from DCOM it's just so damn real and powerful. Especially this song when Sam sings it you feel her sorrow but the blonde is too happy when she sings it.
I miss my childhood 😢 very good memories with these disney movies. I remember every Friday night they would put on a Disney movie and I would always look forward to it after school.
i spent so much time recreating this song and i sang it for my friend and she knew the tune after not hearing it for ten years and it basically describes what i feel back then and now and the memories comeback when hearing it
They reran all of their 100 original movies, and I stayed up to 2:30 in the morning. I watched this (Pixel Perfect), The Other Me, Smart House and a lot more. Disney used to be so good...
Poor sam. When I was younger I thought she was just an obnoxious brat. But now I get it. No wonder she got mad. Those songs were meaningful to her. It was part of her soul. And the only way for someone to hear them was for some hologram to cheapen them and just turn them into generic fake plastic.
WOOOOOW just realized Cami from the originals seriously reminded me of someone from my childhood AND ITS CUZ SHE WAS SAM IN PIXEL PERFECT wow I loved this movie so much
Am I the only who would love to hear the complete version of this song with the full acoustic and singing like in the beginning instead of the pop version. The first version I would actually listen to! On another note, I loved this movie as a kid as well as many other old DCO movies! Wish Disney channel would start playing the old movies!!! I’d still watch them at 25 with my kids if they did!
Miss this film and loved it so much when i was younger xD Had such a huge crush on Ricky Ullman 😅🤣🤣 Such a good film and miss the old days watching this. 💜
