Hi @JosephSlinker , I hope you can help with this. I followed your tutorial on the repair tool, and when I click "Sample All Layers" and start painting, it doesn't create a new layer. Any idea why this might be happening?
It depends on if you’ve made other destructive edits and what other layers you have in your project. You can also just create a new layer and paint with the repair brush if you want to be sure.
Pixelmator pro is the best value I have ever spent on any software. Scrub that, it’s the best value product I think I have ever bought. Looking forward to this.
This. It’s incredibly true. I’m actually basically a sales rep for them at this point to anyone I know IRL who isn’t using them. The ease of use, flexibility, script-ability… 🤯🤯
I just purchased Pixelmator Pro, and I'm really happy with it! I just wish there were long, detailed video tutorials for beginners like me on navigating the Pixelmator Pro interface, exploring layers, and using all the tools and how to utilize them. Unfortunately, there's not much on RU-vid about Pixelmator tutorials.
Liked & subscribed for the series. I’ve been using Pixelmator since 2017 on my old Intel Mac and after upgrading to Silicon it stopped working so I moved to Pro. I love it, only lacks a couple of features of Photoshop for a tenth of the price, amazing, and my wife is Lithuanian so some moral support there 💪😂
6:35 Hey! Great stuff! I picked up Pixelmator Pro a few months ago with the intent of making it my main pixel based editing software and it’s been very fun and intuitive to use. Now I’ve gone back to Photoshop though, but also because there’s so few tutorials and courses out there for Pixelmator Pro, so this stuff is very much appreciated and I’m very much looking forward to see what you are going to do here going forward. As for this video, you can make everything non destructive by always making your colour edits on a separate colour adjustment layer and putting it on top of any removals, which are also on their own layer.
Hey Joseph, Ive had Pixelmator Pro for a while, but not on it a lot, thanks for the update headsup and RU-vid video and this amazing MasterClass , liked and subscribed… great work ! many thanks 👊🏻 oh btw When I used the repair tool, and selected “sample all layers” i didn't get a stack of changes on the left side inspector ? what am I doing wrong ? BTW Gr8 quality video, what camera do you use ,may I ask ? Looks fab...
Hi...Joseph...Hope you are dng great :) And thank uuuu so much for starting pixelmator pro masterclass...For mee....You are the perfect man for pixelmator...thanks once again ... good day :)
This has been SOOOO helpful, thank you! Just one issue, when using the repair tool (6:03) and I select 'sample all layers', my changes are not happening on a new layer but the original. How do I get the non-desteuctive additional layer? I am using Archupelago 3.6.3.
I look forward to the rest of the series. Out of curiosity, what camera are you using to shoot your videos? It's well lit and the colour grading is nice.
I'm ready to cancel my Adobe accounts but of course, they want more money to even do that. Ridiculous. This is going to be a great course! I'm also a drone pilot and the ability to work on photos and videos in the same place is really exciting.
Hello, I'm new here and I want to ask one thing. I started using Pixelmátor Pro and I highly recommend this software. It is excellent. But one thing is missing me. I shoot with a Pentax K1 camera and its HD Pentax DFA 100 mm macro 1:2.8 ED AW macro lens. Why does the software not detect this lens? Instead, it reports detection of the older SMC Pentax DFA 100mm macro 1:2.8 WR lens every time. Nor does Apple Photos detect it for me. If I previously processed the photo in Lightroom, everything was fine, when I put this photo in Apple Photos and then wanted to edit it in Pixelmátor Pro, it was already working there with this newer lens. That ended after canceling my account with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I am grateful in advance for advice or recommendations. Best regards, Zoltán
Welcome aboard! I’ll be honest I’m not sure. I’ve heard of people having this issue, and even experienced it once with a rented lens I used with my Sony. I don’t know what causes it though. Potentially adapters or something messing with the communication the camera? I’m not sure.
Thank you for your response. I don't get it either, but it can be worked with. I also asked this question directly to the developers of Pexelmátor Pro, they promised to try to find out what the problem is, but so far I have not received an answer. Have a nice day.
Happy Thursday my friend! Boom! Hit that LIKE button! Have a great day!!!! Hope you are having a great week!!! Thanks for sharing and posting this!!!! Awesome upload and big like!!
Hello - ty for this. Moving from lightroom. I file my photos by folder by event. I work on these as separate projects. Pixelmator does not seem to allow for creating these units of work. It just keeps opening more photos. Also i do not see a way to look at the photo thumbnails in my work queue. I see file names but no preview.
Pixelmator is more comparable to Photoshop. If you’re looking for a proper Lightroom replacement then you should look at Photomator. It doesn’t have all the Lightroom features yet, but it’s getting closer all the time.
I actually have a video about all the AI features they already have! I'm also quite confident they'll have more coming in the future. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_WiZ2-MMyTc.html
