That outro could last forever. OMG That's what I always loved about the Pixies. That melancholic yet epic melody that hits you in the feels while Joey rips the fretboard into infinity and beyond. Love the backing vocals as well, got me nostalgic. Instant Pixies classic tune.
Long live the Pixies ,Vamos! ..... what a way to end the album. Love the bass play, love this song. Pixies on point! deliver a nice jewel!.... the best song in the album....
Dang I wish this was 6 minutes long with the ending just kind of flowing away along Joey's solo. I'm not sure if I've ever heard a solo so charged with emotion from him before. Really, really like it. Also, one of the best songs on the album. Pixies just keeps doing their thing. I was going to say "keep getting better", but while Beneath the Eyrie and Doggerel are better as a whole, I can't dismiss albums like Come On Pilgrim or Doolittle. They're just evolving, and that's a good thing.
Charles seems to have a bottomless hat of hypnotizing melodies coming out like white bunnies. Some punching your face, some sweeping it gently. Doggerel ( the track) is a brilliant example with a exploration into new vibe territories "A funny dog, not favoured much, by luck or by fame, Sir"
@@Daniel-ns1uf Could be, or he may have come across a place with that name during his wanderings. A reporter could spend quite the drawn-out interview (that'll never happen) trying to nail down what's behind his lyrics. Fun to speculate, nonetheless.
When the chorus fully kicks in at 2:10. Absolutely brilliant. A new but nostalgic Pixies track. Haven't listened to anything really since Kim Deal left the band, but will check this album out. What a beautiful track.
That "I'll never wander again/Wander again" right as it fades out reminds me so much of the fadeout on Fleetwood Mac's 'Say You Will'. Great harmony work by PL there. Great track! Just wish the producer would quit the brickwall shit so we can turn it up LOUD.
This one is actually pretty good, but I just feel like 70% of modern Pixies choruses sound like they're cut from the same cloth. Paz has a sweet voice, though I really think it could be used in more interesting and dynamic ways than just simple harmonies.
She was perfect as a lead in "Los Surfer Muertos" (one of my favorite Pixies songs already) and "Hear Me Out" (but this one is unfortunately not on an album)...
