Pizza Hut NEW Chicago Tavern Style Pizza Food Review 

From Chicago here . Deep dish is tourist pizza. Tavern style is what Chicagoans grew up with.

Y’all’s home seems so peaceful surrounded by all the trees! I just love West Virginia! Most of my family is from WV and Ohio and that area is so special to me. We leave for Tennessee tomorrow!

In the late 90’s Pizza Hut had these pizzas called the Edge Pizzas!

I am from the Chicago suburbs & have to agree.. the tavern pizza is what true Chicago pizza is all about!

Thin crust pizza is what most Chicago natives go with. The deep dish is a tourist attraction. V&V In Suburban Bartlett is one of my favorite pizza places to eat.

Chicagoan for 30 years. Tavern style is the Chicago staple. Deep dish is more an "occasional" pizza, while tavern you order more common because it was cheaper to buy, easier for pizzerias to make and not as "heavy" when goin down.

I have not eaten at a Pizza Hut since the 1970s but that pizza did look pretty good. Every Pizza Hut that I knew of went out of business long ago. You would not have me sitting out there in that 92° temperatures. I don't know how you are even wearing that t-shirt. This is shirtless weather 😆❣🇺🇸🙏🏻👍🏻

60649 -- South Side ... I never heard of "Tavern" Style Pizza until about a year or two ago from RU-vid because it is just Pizza to us, we did not have "special" name for it. Now we do eat Deep Dish (which is a special name by us) but you have to go Downtown and or Up North for shopping, a night out on the Town and such to hit those spots. Remember Chicago is HUGE so most of us eat a lot of different Ethnic foods but our "Tavern Style" Pizza is ubiquitous and consistent city wide.

We had Pizza Hut over the weekend. It was good! Our local one had declined over the years, but a new owner came in and it was good again! We had the Pan Supreme which is our go-to pizza there, but that Spicy Chicken Sausage pizza you showed looks amazing! I definitely want to try that! I miss the Pizza Hut of the 80’s, it was soooo good. Great video!

You could probably get a free pizza because there was no Italian sausage on the first one or shaker seasoning on both of them. I have driven away from drive thrus and been so mad at myself for not checking to make sure things are right (old tasting/cold fries, regular Coke when I ordered diet Coke). I really enjoy watching your videos! 🍕😊

Chicago born and raised. Deep dish is a once in a great while pizza. While tavern style is the normal go to on a regular basis. Love your content!

I was curious about those. They looked good for the ten dollars. The chicken one looked better than the first one.

Deep dish is tourist pizza, the other pizza they like in Chicago is stuffed pizza. In Ohio a large pizza at any pizza place , no matter the company is around $30.00 period.

I am a pizza lover. could eat it every day. I do not do spicey. Would probably get the sweet marinara sauce and pepperoni. Would also like to have black olives and green pepper on it too.

I was born and raised in Chicago I’ve never heard thin crust being called “tavern style”. I’ve heard it once in a blue moon referenced as “pub style” but every one I know we just call it this crust. Now with that said, this pizza only looks like Chicago thin but tastes like Pizza Hut thin crust. I tried it as I now live in Houston, but I won’t repeat as the taste is nothing like Chicago. Thankfully Rossetti’s is here but they are out in the suburbs so I will occasionally get it when I’m really in the mood.

That pizza looked like Dominos thin crust, it looks really good I love pizza, I could eat pizza all day, I'm going to have to try one of those. Thanks for showing us y'all stay cool it's gonna be hot this weekend and God Bless

I'd probably order the Ultimate just as you got it, not a sausage fan....my hubby doesn't eat pork, he'd probably like the chicken sausage one....I love thin, crispy crust pizza, they look delicious!!

I grew up south of Chicago and we always enjoyed the tavern style pizza. Deep dish was too much! Still crave the taste compared to what we get here in the south. Only pizza even close to what I was used to was in Sarasota, FL. I think it was from Joey D’s in downtown Sarasota. So sorry you were missing the sausage. Best part!😢🥰

you can only buy the deals on your desktop or app, not on the phone or in store...I use pizza hut a lot for grandkids...you guys signed up for rewards? you can get free medium and large pizzas that way and also other items. going to have to try these new pizzas! thanks for the review! have a good day guys!!

I worked for the HUT back when I was 17 years old. Fun times - lots of free pizza! I much prefer a crispy thinner crust pizza. Better crust to topping ratio. Less carbs and calories from the dough. I would have told them about the missing sausage. They should have made you another. About the deals - I always check a restaurants website or app for current deals or bonuses. Even joining their free club can get you a free appetizer, dessert, or birthday meal sometimes. Most places those deals are only available for online ordering and pickup -not dine in or delivery - check the fine print. Its so they can hire less staff to work the tables inside.

I'm from Chicago and it's true! Thin crust all the way! And we don't call it tavern style. Thick crust or stuffed pizza is for tourists only!

I live in Chicago most people I know eat tavern-style pizza that's the only way I've ever known Pizza to be sometimes I do get a deep dish but I don't believe deep dish is the number one pizza in Chicago it's tavern

Typical for Pizza Hut to try and cash in on my home town’s Pizza style. It will never taste like real Chicago Pizza. It’s always in the sauce. But the cut is tavern style. Great review. Looks like that pizza brought the heat!

I grew up in Chicago, and yes the tavern style pizza 🍕 is my favorite. A Chicago style pizza should be spicy because of the Italian sausage made with fennel seeds. I only want Italian sausage and peppers.

Marco's has had this style for a long time. Their regular pizza's are wedge cut, the Thin Crust is cut into squares and is the only one we order. Sorry Pizza Hut but you are not the first national chain to have this.

The “True” Chicago tavern pizza is sausage only, you won’t see pepperoni or much else very often, deep dish isn’t what locals eat very often, don’t be surprised if you ever drive through Chicago and see people eating pizza while driving 😂 it’s soooo good you just can’t wait to dig in

We live in central NC. Although Pizza Hut used to be a huge favorite for our family, now EVERY Pizza Hut is just a hole. Low paid employees that don't give a crap. I haven't had Pizza Hut in probably ten years. We used to go so often.

Deep dish is dope ….i hate the hate it gets. It’s not pizza, which is fine but when it’s 30 degrees and you want to spend time with family thats what i want. Tavern style is definitely preferred in Chicago because we like to drink , go to bar with friends and this is almost better in taverns then stand alone places

Looks really good and I don't like chain pizza. I live in Buffalo and we have probably a thousand mom and pop pizza shops which I usually always get.

I am not a big fan of thin crust pizza, therefore I would not try. I do like hand tossed pizza with a thicker crust. Enjoyed your video as you both are so honest about your opinions of the food you order. Have a great weekend. Cynthia

From Chicago suburbs here and Pizza Hut does not even come close to a Chicago Tavern pizza. It seems they can not even get the toppings right for you. They should just give up on these pizzas. They will never get it right.
