Another small detail I like. At 1:29, a picture of a flaming secret eye is wood burned into the background wall of the house. When you revisit the same house while the town is on fire, there's a secret eye right in the same spot!
Honestly aside from everything people talked about, the thing that peaked my interest the most was the setting. It isn’t just a wild western city, it isn’t just a ‘gorey’ dungeon of sauce so hot it sets things on fire spontaneously. This is a superstitious town obsessed with Peppino Spaghetti to the point they have built statues of worship, funerals to his person, and a Brazen Bull of himself, and a town built next to a volcano where its townsfolk actively yell from every rooftop that its end is near, yet even then, they choose to live in it, to the point they are inside the Volcano itself, and have a secret passage to its insides that they guard fiercely. _Yet what happens when it blows up?_ The streets burn and flood with igneous death as the several tons of haystacks at every train, building and silo turn to a grainy firestorm, the Brazen Chef the Hamkuff was trapped in serving its purpose as a makeshift oven, even the Conductor unsafe from the thick plumes of smog and heat waves so hot they’d melt a Cheeseslime _alive._ And their god, Peppino Spaghetti, running away from this madness, the one to awaken the volcano’s wrath, and dooming the whole of Idaho Volcano into nothing more than a burnt dish to be scrapped and thrown into the garbage bin.
Judging by some of the things in the volcano, it seems it was less worship and more “if we sacrifice this guy good things will happen”. Like the dead Peppino skulls in the volcano, and the text at 5:06 implies that they believed sacrificing him would bring them profit and perhaps even godhood.
Gives some ideas for achievements! "Watch the world burn" Burn every haystacks "Getting in the hard way" Enter the escaping train through its door "Those darn cows" Don't touch the cows in the third secret
This is indisputably the best cyop level ever made. There's super technically impressive stuff like the fade in/out between music, completely curved surfaces, and such drastic changes in otherwise identical areas; there's absolutely immaculate decoration, mind-bogglingly good music, unbelievably impressive details, fantastic and fluent while still difficult and tight gameplay, and the concept is really funny. I still can't believe this was made in CYOP!
The amount of detail and creativity this CYOP level has is really incredible, and definitely would actually feel like a level from the original game. You also got to love the fact that a volcano apocalypse happened because of a running Italian man who wanted to get his P Rank.
Thank you, the whole team just did a great job with them, I was in charge of the Town BG and the Town Escape Sequence BG and the Peak Volcano BG A lot of hard work was put into them so I appreciate your comment a lot! 🙏
@@luceibits1798peak tower. Peak level. I’ve never seen a PT level so good before, balanced, and feels exactly like mc pig made it. This has to be the best cyop level and the second best cyop level soundtrack (behind golf 2)
Something about the amount of detail in this level compared to the base game is like… If Pizza Tower was a successful show like the Simpsons and got itself an hour long special that still keeps the exact art style, just with a lot more funding due to it being a film and all. This has more of a in-level plot than the base game levels, like how a movie would have its plot centered around one big “episode” rather than a bunch of small shenanigans in many batches of episodes. I’d love to see Samwow and the gang make Pizza Tower feel both like a game and also like a popular 90s cartoon, like the media it is inspired by. I’d love Po-Boy Bayou and Golf 2 be seen as Season 2 or something, for example. This is great. Please, I IMPLORE YOU keep doing stuff like this. We love you!!
This level feels like it was part of the base game, the whole vibe of the level being intense yet absolutely outlandish from an outside perspective, the mechanics that are just new enough to add an extra bit of depth while not completely moving away from what was in the base game, it's all meshed so well together
Loved the level ngl. Other tower as a whole feels like main game dlc due to both its quality and genuine difficulty. Like, these levels are on par with pizzascare/war in both their quality and diffculty. Really hope mcpig acknowledges you guys in some way with the noise update or down the line in general. Phenomenal quality stuff overall. Also the secret was pretty funny lol.
i like how other tower seems to take unused/barely used mechanics (such as corpses being able to surf over waves or firebutt being able to take out rats) and turn them into level gimmicks
mf entered a train without a ticket unnoticed, killed an entire town, erupted a whole volcano, let the town burn into ashes and just left like that and didn't even bother to save the Conducter, Mark Mark Petro.
Just played through this, and it’s easily the highest quality CYOP level ever. It’s difficult to P Rank, but in a fair and well designed way. The artwork is super well made, and the music is great too. Super fun and creative. Easy 11/10.
This level during the escape sequence just screams Sugary Spire Sugar Rush levels of crazy. We got a volcano erupting in the background while buildings in the BG Decoration have seemingly been fake Peppinos from the start. Lava in the volcano which was originally falling down is being sucked up. The train the player started the level on even crashes into a random spot seemingly connected to the volcano, with the Mario lookin' conductor guy doing the memed death pose from Family Guy! If there was a Lap 3 distortion, it would probably be on the volcano itself, having a larger opening at the summit (and a platform in the middle at the beginning of the lap to show this) and an eyes closed screaming face. All of that aside, this level is still really good!
I thinks it’s even more chaotic and freaky, honestly. In Sugar Rush it’s just usual “uh oh gotta run” gameplay but with more freaky backgrounds. This is not just freaky backgrounds but now the stage itself is freaky, with everything burning and lava submerging half the town, and the train ends up crashing in an attempt to escape, and you can even grab it while it’s speeding away.
Yo, this level design, game mechanics, and Pizza Time are INCREDIBLE! Like the hat bales and the train impressed me immensely! And the whole concept of a volcano side town is bizarre!
The truth is that this level was quite incredible in several ways, the idea of a Wild West style city near a volcano from which we will have to escape its eruption, the design of the level with various details in each phase, the volcano phase and The way we got out of it on top, the great music that accompanies this level, the good use they gave to the ability of the flaming butt, and that shortcut that takes you to the next area in the escape in the minute 9:58 is fantastic and Even unexpected for me, your levels really have a charming touch, keep on it dude!
i played this level literally not even a few minutes before writing this comment and it has left me floored, the music, the visuals, EVERYTHING, IT'S. THAT. GOOD.
Not even 0:43 in and I can already see the off-the-bat improvements here! Lava being retextured as hot coals being more natural for the train + not being portrayed as a wholy bad thing (unlike lava in a dungeon)
Okay wow, for my money this is the best custom level I've ever seen. The theming, the usage of assets from Fun Farm and Pig City, the HAY BALE GIMMICK, oh my god, the Hay bale gimmick is incredible. I felt like the firebutt transformation was a little underused in Pizza Tower proper, and this was the perfect thing to give it some more dimension. The usage of the heaters from Refridgerator-Refridgerador-Freezerator in the volcano, the fact that those become obstacles to dodge during Pizza Time, the fun and inventive uses of cows (I feel like they weren't really fun in Oregano Desert), the secrets, the SHORTCUT TO THE END WHERE PEPPINO JUST GRABS THE SIDE OF THE TRAIN, jesus christ BRAVO.
This is an incredibly rare instance of a fan level being on the same level of official levels, if not better (arguably around the level of quality from Floor 5, it almost feels like an alternate take on the scrapped Mansion level). The amount of creativity and thought going into each facet of the level is insane
I love the theme of the level, all of the art is great, and the transitions between areas are really good. Although I do have some criticism: - The layout is a little bit confusing, especially in the first houses of the escape. - The first time I played it, I lost to the lap 2 portal. It's placed right in your path as you are running at mach 4, and you will get sent to lap 2 if you don't react fast enough. - When I encounter the first ranch shooter in the escape, my first idea is always to jump over the lava and wall jump off, and I landed on the bullet. This wouldn't be bad if it weren't a guaranteed combo loss because of the lava that you get hit into. - The instant lava setbacks in the volcano that kill your P-rank. Other than that, this is a really cool level. I love the "We are goth" secret.
i am so angry that my cyop doesnt work il have to wait for the noise update + cyop compatible update comes out to even have a chance to play this masterpiece
Isn’t a mod. Just a CYOP level Which I guess can count as a mod but it’s more a custom level. Also the next level they release finna be better. It gets better every level
this level is so good it could be official, but also doesn't feel that much like it'd fit in with the actual game which I think is what they were aiming for and they nailed it
I swear, this could totally pass itself off as a level in the actual game. All the varying locations in the same setting, all the background details, the music, the level design, the absurdist humor, plus the way everything builds until it leads to a truly chaotic Pizza Time, absolutely incredible.
Chef task ideas: Uncooked: Don't get burned more time than necessary Already too hot: Don't activate the heaters that are purposely here to trap you during Pizza Time I'v got no time!: Get in the train before it flee during Pizza Time
Very well, everyone talks about the volcano and it makes sense that the level is so good, but what is that badge without anything on par with the rank at the entrance of the level? I need information aaaa
hey sammow this is more of a burning question than feedback but how the hell did you manage to get escape bgs working?? i've been looking everywhere but i have no idea where it might be btw cool level
