I love the camera one. It is a rather interesting thing when it comes to photography or visual images in general. First the answer to the question is that the sensor is square so the image comes out square. The camera is designed so that the light that is focused on the sensor or film, if we are talking older cameras. They work in the same way eye, a telescope, or anything else’s with a lens works. The lens focuses the light so that the different colors of light are detected. Black and white versus color looks at the way the material the light is being focused on reacts to light. In the case of a digital camera, the sensor takes the colors it receives and translates it into the color that it comes out as. Film used the property’s of different chemicals/materials to produce different colors that the film is sensitive to. It’s all really fascinating. Also you can make an imagine circle or any other shape in photography (the non digital way mind you because you can obviously use photoshop physically). You can do it by creating a pin hole or some other kind of method to impact the way the lens receives light. This can cause all kinds of effect like blurring and narrow field of view. This can be done with the human eye too and we often do it without thinking much about it. When you narrow you eyes the amount of light that you see becomes small resulting in a dimming or blurry if effect. These kind of effects are also why different types of blindness occur (well unless we are talking about brain caused blindness but that is a whole different bag of worms) and why glasses work to make peoples eyes see again. I did watch the movies first but even when I read the books and watched the movies again I didn't realise that they were supposed to be the same thing. Still hated the movies though, if I hadn't read the books not knowing they were liked to the movies I wouldn't have read them at all. 😂😢😅
