This is some of the smallest N Scale layouts possible by using Kato 20-176, Kato 20-174, Kato 20-172, Kato 20-170. I run a Bachmann Spirit of Christmas on this small radius Kato track. Also shown is an Arnold 0-6-0 running on the smallest loop.

Just wanted to say thank you. It's OK seeing these curves on paper or in a layout building software, but it's more useful to see the real thing working. This is very helpful when trying to decide just how compact you can go! Cheers!

Perfect! I have one space on a layout that is only 22” wide and need to do a 180 turn there, so this showed that largest circle/diameter will work.

Great video, thanks for sharing. Is a really great way to learn about these small diameter tracks. I loved this video!

Thank you so much for this, I have been searching high and low for someone running this exact train on a Kato 7inch radius. Needed to confirm it ran, before I purchased it. Thank you so much!

Thanks for sharing! Pretty cool example of the KATO Unitrack Compact track. I built a small layout on my desk and thankfully had enough space that my inner loop uses the same 20-170 track as your outer loop . I was then able to add a middle loop using 20-100 and 20-110 and then 20-120 and 20-132 for the outer loop.

Now this is great! I am continually impressed by what Kato has to offer! I want to do a small layout for my son in his bedroom, likely with some shelves or a small table. His bedroom is 12'x9', so I don't have a lot of space to work with.

Plenty of used Bachmann track for me at the moment. But these Kato tracks are appealing. Especially a tiny industry with a couple of 40' boxcars and maybe a SW1200ish switcher. Have some train fun on the go!!

Perfect. I have been looking for information like this. I am thinking about building a layout using a Ikea Lack table and it is only 55cm x 55cm.

Thank you for making this video. I'm making a layout with Kato track and don't have a lot of room myself. Just subbed

A tougher test, which I see no one show, is using a radius bridge section with raised sides.

How do you connect the kato unitrack feeder supply to the bacchman power pack? They have different ends.
@JonnyMainframe
@JonnyMainframe Год назад
A year late but you can get the KATO Adapter Cord 24-843 which has a female coupler on one end that will connect to the male connector of the feeder track wire. The other end of 24-843 has U terminals which can connect to your power pack or simply snip them off and use the bare wires to connect to the power pack.
