GDjesusOfsuburbia might be true. Although Forrest is just a completely different type of drummer. He play's extremely progressive and very dominant. Hewitt always had a very layed back approach to playing and a certain groove, Coolness and melancholie forrest never had. From a technical standpoint i would actually say their current drummer is best. He does not play as spectacular as a forest but that's not what good technique means right. He makes that drums pop and really carries the bands dynamic and feel in a absolutely beautiful way. Forrest's playing style was way to progressive for Placebo and even annyoing sometimes at least in my book. Although he is a great drummer of course.
the best description of the 3 drummers i have ever read. i agrre with you, but steve hewitt is my favourite. i think he had a funk touch and a real melancholic groove: that's wy placebo needs. i like mathew but i think is to shi behind the sdrum set. stay well
I’ve never met one person who mentioned Without You I’m Nothing as THE Placebo album. Everyone mentions Sleeping With Ghosts, but, to me, that’s the obvious go-to choice with its production value and we-have-money-now-so-let’s-make-our-flawless-rock-album. However, Without You I’m Nothing is everything to me. I think it’s their most creative, emotional, raw, lyrically brilliant album ever.
WYIN is hands down their best album. To be honest I think the first two are great. The third was decent, and after that they kind of lost it. Some good tracks here and there but I don't think they've a made solid album since.
Same. First 3 albums for me are their best especially WYIN, plus Bitter End, plus Follow the cops back home and Pierrot The Clown from meds. Still alot of good material compared to most bands. I still think they have one great album in them if they stop with the flimsy rubbish from the last record although Exit Wounds is a great track. I didn't particularly care for Sleeping With Ghosts, too euro pop for me the production is better on WYIN anyway.
I suppose that maybe it has to do with the age of the people you are talking to? Any Placebo fan in their mid-30's and up would definitely consider WYIN as their best album, hands down. I also loved BMM, but because it was the first Placebo album I bought and it has lots of energy for a 16 year old. What they have lost now, is the melancholy in their songs - everything sounds like pop-rock and the lyrics are poor.
+Kikitwinstar Love i believe he is actually a bi, you know what that mean right? and not to mention he was clearly on a crack this this video. come back to me a while and change your taste in men
They should make an anniversary Tour for the Without I'm Nothing Album, and with Steve back on the drums. That's the only album from them I truly love.
Saw them in Chicago back in 2006-7 she wants revenge open for them n ironically more than half the people left not knowing how dope this band is as well the singer called the audience PATHETIC during special K!
No I mean הבאדים מאוד מגניבים, המוסיקה מסתבר ממש טוב buddies not that trashy at all could have been worse punk rock or something, weird attire or screaming music, at least it's people who are into music that's not the worst waste of time imaginable nice people
