In this video we take a tour down the royal mile and look at place to eat in edinburgh. We start at the top of the royal mile at Edinburgh Castlee and walk half way down telling you all the restaurants, cafes and pubs you can eat at, and what type of food they serve. High end restaurants like the Witchery, to nice friendly pub food at Deacon Brodies Tavern and the Royal McGregor pub. There is also the brand name as well like The Filling Station and Frankie & Bennies. Everything from Italian food to burgers and Haggis.

Ugh I already miss Edinburgh! Was great to visit and I half expected to run into you filming on the street hahah. We loved the pub food! However, the Albanach was easily the worst place I’ve ever eaten, both food and service on the restaurant and bar side were awful. Byron’s was easily one of the best (they were SO friendly) and really liked Clarindas Tea Room too! We tried to keep it a local as possible - and were happy that there were so many places to choose from! Can’t wait to visit again!

We were just in Scotland and we visited both the Worlds End pub and Royal MacGregor (3 times)!!! We absolutely loved it. Andddd we visited Deacon Brodie’s Tavern because of you! It was grand!

Ensign Ewart is named after the man who captured Napoleon's eagle at Waterloo.He was part of the Scots Grey's cavalry regiment who are now the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.That regiment today wears a Grey beret and has the eagle as its cap badge for obvious reasons.He was from my home town of Kilmarnock and we are very proud of him.

@@ClanBroonford Nae worries mate.that flag topped with the eagle resides in the Dick Institute Museum in Kilmarnock to this day.If your ever back in the pub,take a wee gander roon aboot and you'll see plenty of references to the Battle of Waterloo including a portrait of the famous charge of the Scots Grey's which he was part of.

Since I've been watching your video's I decided to stay a week in Edinburgh. We also want to see the great countryside? My daughter thought of maybe renting a car for that. Looking for a place that has its own bathroom, two beds and maybe a fridge to have for drinks and snacks. Want it to be like I'm living in Scotland.

I hope you point out Clarinda’s tearoom on part 2. My family ate breakfast there most mornings. Very quaint and delicious! We did visit a few of the local places that you pointed out (and loved them) but we were traveling with one very “particular” child, so I hate to say that we ended up at pizza express 🤷🏻‍♀️ As always, enjoy your videos and congrats on the increase in subbies!

Thank you for your informative vlogs. We're planning a trip to England and Scotland in 2021. Can you recommend a hotel or B&B, close to the Royal Mile. We want to come in August so we can see the Tatoo. I'm sure prices will be higher then, but we like places that have character and charm. I'm American trying to plan my retirement trip. We also would like to find some good day tours, since we don't plan on renting a car. Thanks for your help.

thanks for the video, me and my wife are travelling to Scotland for our first time in May. coming from canada....my mother and grandparents are from Scotland so I grew up learning everything to know. and cant wait ti finally experience it in person....I've never tried haggis, always said that I was waiting until I was in Scotland, in your opinion would you say Deacons had the best?
