Great place to live with everything you need, the best shopping for miles and miles, a leisure centre with water park, ice skating, ice hockey games to go and watch, and bowling. There is also a Sports Park where Harlequins train, which has plenty of facilities for the public. Parks, including the North downs. Loads of Supermarkets. Great schools...... etc etc
Used to have amazing Morris Dancers celebrating May Day opposite the town hall back in the eighties. We would meet under the "clock" after our parents trusted Guildford to let us do our own thing for maybe 2hrs. I was maybe 12 at the time. I hope they still do!
So expensive there. And in Sussex, where I lived. Had to move, to the uplands in old Cymru! I hope you speak real English, as I do, because it's getting rarer. Must be preserved.
I was in Aldershot before Liverpool (watched that video to). From Depot Para we would go into Guildford and have some really wild nights out. It looks peaceful now but it could get hairy back then. Beautiful walk around. Enjoyed that. Mark
Hello,Richard!!!!Thanks a lot one more time to show us another interesting place in UK. At this time, Guilford , a town in Surrey.I love to see how the locals live,it's amazing when you show that in your video.I could see that the town is very clean and it's so beautiful to see the flowers on the top. When I lived in London , I used to go to Oxshott, a village in Surrey, once a week.Unfortunately, I never visited Guilford.I wish you lots of inspiration to continue showing us wonderful places in UK.Have a wonderful weekend!!! xx Lia
Loved the walk down the cobbled high street, with the luxury of no cars. Wasn't impressed when getting back into the noise and traffic. I used to live in Guildford in 1958-60, when I worked at Billings in Walnut Tree Close. I particularly remember Friary Street regularly flooding and having to wade through it . I settled here in New Zealand in 1965, but it's nice to see some parts of England are still as I remember them. It brings back a lot of good and some not so good times for me.
in a few weeks i come to visit Windsor, been looking around for other places to visit, i am sure i come visit Guildford it looks a very nice place. Any other towns i should see ????
Thank you for this video! It inspired me to make my own but sadly mine is a lot less thoughtful than yours! Lol A great day for it. The light is fantastic and there's a bit of live action to boot.
Seems almost like the ideal place. Large enough with 100,000 pop to offer lots of shopping and restaurants. Wonderful parks nearby and if you need to or want to go to London it is just 32 miles away. I live in Tennessee by the way.
Any memory of a shop on the High Street called 'But Is It Art?'. Early 70s-posters, hippy garb, joss sticks. Late 70s-Bonaparte Records, the Punk Rockers hang out!
Well, if your'e gonna get a song stuck in your head, "Come as you are" is not a bad one :) And how is the weather over there, is it still hot? I see a lot of people wearing shorts - and man, Five Guys is everywhere in the UK now! Five Guys started off in the mid 80s with one little family run shop here in the Washington DC area where I live, and now they're all over the UK! - and that guy should have secured his bricks a little better
No rain for weeks now..But you know England..The rain is never far away...First time I saw a little drama on my camera with those bricks...Felt a little guilty, not going to help...It was a bit dangerous on that busy road, but thankfully no one was hurt ....
I clicked on this video since i lived in Guildford for years, I figured statistically surely I'd see someone I recognize. Lo and behold i did, I just wasn't expecting it to be my old weed dealer lmao!
I live in Oundle little run down town I thought ,went to visit my daughter in Surrey earlswood very affluent area commuter belt what a dump last time any maintenance was done there was probably by the romans I dread to think what any tourist would think of the place but no one cares just keep paying over priced rates ,for what.
I didn’t receive your first message - this was the only one that I was notified for. I’m not sure meeting up with a complete stranger would be that wise - can you not describe what you mean?
Tamara Carter Oundle is not as dangerous as you think ,there are too many things to point out so the only way is to meet and I will point out what you fail to notice ok
I will be moving to Surrey Area with my wife in 2 weeks. DO you think we can rent a flat or house(not shared with someone etc.) for about 1K GBP per month? Farnborough-Guildford or near by city would be good. How much money I need at the beginning to rent?(What would be the list of costs? Like deposit, commission, first month of rent etc.? Note: I will have a permanet Job contract if this would help(Hopefully yes)
Hi, yes I have moved, very expensive area, especially rent, nothing below 1000gbp + utilities and tax... Less paid jobs. It is because people work in london and live in this area so they have more income and it increases the rent prices.
Hakki Yayla Ash is rlly cheap but the houses are quite small, but the houses are rlly expensive in Guildford, if recommenced living in Ash vale of somewhere cheaper
I didn’t spot any black people so that sometimes puts me off if I’m thinking about living somewhere. It looks lovely and I do travel to many cities and countries but for me to live here, there would need to be more diversity.
Nu Journeys Counselling just saying u commented this 6 months ago and now i see lots of different races when I go to Guildford I’m Glad there’s more diversity now :)
My god! Even Sean Lock criticized Guildford! What a place full, stuffed full of condescending, hypocritical, sticks-up-the-arses place I have ever had the misfortune to grow up in
Sadly true, Used to work in the Wetherspoons, would get all kinds of abuse from Guildfordians. Posh twats with v-neck shirts and shaved heads that thought they were better than you. Peak British culture eh?
me too mate. totally agree. There are some lovely people dotted here and there, but also a massive amount of people living well beyond their means and pretending they are something they are not...
The buildings and artefacts of previous centuries stand in the way of complete homogenisation in every town, but the people-through overbreeding-lose a little individual character all the while. Mostly, same shops and businesses everywhere.
