Places to Retire in Florida • Clermont, Fl 

My Wife & I are both retired Law Enfocement from New York. We live in Trilogy of Orlando. Right next door to Clermont. We absolutely love the city of Clermont.

“Let’s spoil everybody by doing Clermont”. Well said. We moved here a couple of years ago from MIA/FLL. Just love Clermont!!! Moved to Summit Greens which, for us, was the BEST 55+ community. We were actually building in a new community and walked away from that new build for Summit Greens. Orlando Health, South Lake is exceptional! With Summit Greens you are sooo close to a variety of Health care business.

I stayed at the Cabana Nikki is amazing and she made the stay stress free during stressful time. Nikki you are amazing thanks for sharing this video.

I appreciate your unique approach and firsthand comments about locations versus what specific communities narrowly show in the adverts. Perhaps my interest is rare, however I'm looking for a retirement experience with a variety of activities and events available outside the gates, too. You're doing a great job.

Great video. It’s funny there is a small town just north of Gainesville Ga named Clermont that is booming. It is right at the foot hills of the North GA mountains and a lot of Floridans have moved there.

Have attended a wine festival in Clermont. I saw a hill in Clermont. Bought a car in Leesburg. Shopped many times in Mt. Dora! Live in SW Va. Love central Fl.

I moved to Clermont in 2004 and it has grown and there is so much to do here n it’s a family oriented family atmosphere and we have a lot of athletes training in Clermont for the Olympics and what’s beautiful about Clermont we are connected to all the chain of Lakes and it’s awesome especially if you have boats well Clermont is where to be at and Clermont is the only county with beautiful rolling hills ...When you discover Clermont everyone wants to move to Clermont...Love it !

I’m curious how Clermont experiences a major storm, since it’s elevation is higher than other communities nearby. I expect drainage might be a benefit but I am wondering if Clermont is more susceptible to wind damage.

Clermont and Leesburg, are IMO a no go. Mount Dora is charming and well governed. You don't need to buy in a 55+ community in Mt Dora, and yes there is outdoor pickleball, if that's your thing. Clermont has no downtown. It's hills that were there had orange groves, and is now a sea of rooftops. My first home in FL was in Clermont, then all the builders came and ruined it. So happy we discovered Mt Dora.🌈

Good Video. I have been traveling through Clermont for over 30yrs on my way to Brooksvile and it was nice to see what it has to offer. I have watched state route 50 go from a 2 lane road to the congested red light filled road that it currently is and getting worse. One key piece of information you did provide is the costs of these over 55 communities at 250-350k. Thank you. At these rising price points, the snow bird life style is at risk. The acquisition costs now requires that you have to pick FLA or a back up north location. I am in a high cost area in the northeast. Even with the high price I could get to sell my current house, I could easily buy in any of these 55plus communities. But there would not be enough left to buy a nice down sized home in my current area that I would consider living in. The Villages snowbird rentals in high season for 4k per month are looking like a cheaper alternative for me at least. Again, Nice video.

We’re planning to retire, and are starting the process of determiningWhat would be a good fit for us. Could also be interested in a one night rental on one of Nikki’s cottages

We were down there (5/20 - 5/24) checking out mobile home communities in Winter Garden and Mt Dora areas. Looking to retire to FL from PA. Hubby turns 55 in 2 years.

Where were you guys in CO all those years ago? I'm in south Central FL now but started out in Denver, went to school in Greeley, married in Loveland and moved on to Fort Collins after that. I'm in FL to stay, but I'll always miss CO.

Can’t afford Clermont. Would love to be able to afford to move back to MN. Hate the severe heat of Florida summer and the hurricanes that are becoming more numerous every year. Been down here too long-Way too many people have moved to Florida so I want out

A big plus for My Dora. Clermont is a sea of rooftops almost touching each other. I always advise to rent for 7 months prior to buying. Horizon West is my next choice other than Mt Dora. Horizon West is in Winter Garden. You won't like Clermont or Leesburg, unless you don't have the money to move to Mt Dora. I'm an ex-new home consultant. I know my business. And I urge you to research this before a deposit is made. It's sad, because it was all orange groves until 2000, then the builders came, and wammo! Please hear me; don't live in a community that allows short term rental, or a community which has more than one entrance. Lots of Section 8 in Clermont, unfortunately. My Dora has outdoor pickleball. Don't listen to this Clermont propoganda! Oh, there is nothing high-end in Clermont or Leesburg, from a Northeasterner's perspective. LoL 😂
