crazy effort when you can just apply a coating to the skirt itself

Joe, when we Engine Builders did this back in the day, coatings weren't out yet, and or perfected. I hope that helps. T.S. RACING

I have seen ppl drill dimples I the skirts, but I guess this will work better, and the only wear point is the ring lands! Nice!!

Seems to me, the Delrin would melt within a minute or two of heating up!

30 years ago an old timer told me about doing this to his drag bike piston skirts...I thought he was yanking my chain.

Delrin has amazing properties Sir, in fact many of my Harley Engine Building tools are made of Delrin. T.S. RACING

Just use a ceramic coating, you can do it yourself nowadays, and it will far outlast any plastic parts!!
