Thanks for the video. This answered the questions i was looking for. I have primarily worked in autoCAD at the small electrical engineering firm I work for. We are trying to make the switch to revit with very little experience to go on. AutoCAD has a lot of little hacks for aligning, centering, spacing, ...etc. I was looking for those tricks for Revit and i found them here. Thank you for posting. I will be looking for more of your content!

Great Video as always Mike. Could you do a video showing how to put switches on a Reflected Ceiling Plan rather than in a copy of a floor plan? Thank you!

Oooo... good idea. Some residential plans show the switches, lighting fixtures, fans, electrical outlets on the RCP and some on a copy of the Floor Plan called ELECTRICAL Plan or POWER Plan. I often make a quick SYMBOL of a lighting switch and of the outlets, so that I can run a wire to the lighting fixtures on the RCP. I bet that MEP guys use real 3D elements, but for small residential projects the 2D symbols work great for me.

Hi, thanks for the videos. So do you add a Ceiling underneath the next level floor? Since the floor shows in the ceiling plan, but doesnt act like a cieling, therefor cieling families dont connect... It looks really crazy, feet and inches, when your used to metric, but what really beats me is that the sizes arent basic at 1to100, 1to50 being twice the size. So in metric each cm on the drawing would be 1 m in real life. so what would an inch on the drawing be ? Have a great day

Thanks for this video! when I want to place a "downlight rectangle LED" in the grid, I use align tool but it doesn't allow me to pick the exterior line of the lights. I only can align the grid with the center line of the light. Do you have any idea how to fix it? Thank you!

Hello, I would like my room name to appear on any light fixture and outlet in its properties. How can I do this?
