I only have 1 serated combo knife and its the bugout mini. I always think about picking up another serated combo but its hard to take the plunge for some reason. I might try one out again though. You may have conbinced me
I like Spyderco but IMO they under heat treat knives cause they don't want warranty hassles-They won't even give you a rockwell rating on most of their knives they are slightly paranoid...I have excellent results with their s35vn ,vg10 not great at all,Maxamet excellent and k390 is the bomb just in my experience ...i would love to see them do 14c28n at 62 hrc and drop their prices
I got some really bad chipping with the factory edge on my SE bd1n para 3. An entire "tooth" sheared off while I was cutting a relatively thin zip tie. I've been beating the hell out of an SE k390 Endura the last couple months and haven't had any issues. You should pick up a CBN Webfoot. Definitely the best tool I've ever used for sharpening serrations.
