Thank you for doing this! One of my goals for this year is to learn how to use Photoshop for scrapbooking and photo printing; and the fact that you have more in depth in Patreon is a plus! Love your videos
Thank you Angela! That's such a great goal for the year!! I feel like learning/using Photoshop for my scrapbooking projects has been a crazy game changer for me. It's amazing what you can do with the program and what a wonderful tool it can be! ❤
Such a great lesson, Krystal. I use photoshop every day, but still learned some things from you. As I have said to you many many times - I love watching/learning your thought process. Thanks so much for sharing and your continued inspiration!!!
Thank you Jenell! I feel the same way when I watch other people use PS/PSE! I feel like I'm always learning new tips and tricks to the programs. With these types of robust editing platforms, the learning never ends lol.
Loved this article I used PS for many years but have switched to Affinity Photo with great success the psd layouts and bar from Photshop transfer with no problems success.
Love that PSD layouts transfer over to Affinity Photo! I've never used Affinity Photo before... but love that you found a program that suits you better than PS!
Thank you for doing this. I’m doing my 2023 year book in a hybrid way. You have given me some solutions to how I can streamline and even solve a problem I was having. 🎉 I’m using Affinity Photo and working in a disc bound 7x9.25 size this year. I love this size and used a Happy Planner vertical last year, but realised that a week based project doesn’t work for me. Different season of life now my kids are all grown up.
Love that you are finding memory keeping methods/solutions that work for you and your current season of life. I think that's SO important! Also, very glad that some pieces of this may come in handy for you + your current process! That's always the goal in sharing these types of videos ❤.
Hello! Sorry if this is a silly question. But how do you get digital files of all your physical items? Do you scan everything? What about the stamps? 😂 Sorry, I’m new to scrapbooking, and I just stumbled upon your video. It’s so interesting! Thank you!
Not a silly question at all! Many scrapbook companies sell both the physical and digital versions of their products. So for the ones I'm using, they are the digital kits from the companies themselves. (Ali Edwards, Studio Calico, and even American Crafts - a more traditional scrapbook brand all offer digitals, among many others too.) You can certainly go the route of scanning cards in and digitizing them yourself. Buying the digitals for me just saves time... and they are usually on the more inexpensive side. I love to have both because I love to work with the physical products and manipulate them to work for me... and the digitals let me try out my ideas beforehand and test if it will work before I cut into my supplies lol. Hope that helps! ❤
Yes, a similar process can definitely be followed in Canva (as far as I know). I am MUCH more versed in Photoshop... but I do have the same templates available to use in the Canva program... so then the digital layout design could be accomplished in that program and either printed as a full page, or the components could be printed separately to accomplish a more hybrid look.
Nice video! If you make a frame of each box then If you drag and drop the photo in the box it automaticaly resizes and clips in the box. I have a video on my channel where I use it and it maybe makes more sense what I’m saying 😂
I'm fascinated with this! How are you getting the frame around the boxes? I tried to see what tool/function you had selected in order to do that... but couldn't figure it out. Looks a lot easier though!
@@KrystalIdunate you can make the box a frame by “right clicking” on the box layer and click on convert to frame. Then you can drag the photo from Adobe Bridge (via split screen) or something else to the frame. It makes it so that the photo (layer) becomes a smart object. If you then double click on the smart object layer in the layer panel, it transports you to camera raw and you can adjust the photo to your liking. If you want a border around your box you have to make a group out of your (single) layer (ctrl g) and then you can add a border or dropshadow or anything you want. I hope it makes sense. I looked up a video on how the frame tool works, maybe that helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nMimy282gx4.html Feel free to ask me anything more, I’m more then happy to help.
Are you putting the cut outs onto card or paper? I love this look as I plan all my layouts digitally first. I'm wondering how the paper/card would hold up over time with the additional weight of the cards/photos/embellishments.
I am printing the template pages on a heavier copy paper (28lb) so it has a bit more durability to it. Because I'm creating outside of the page protector, I end up adhering the pages back to back with either patterned paper or full page photos for the layouts that come before/after each spread. With the pages adhered together like that, it holds up very well... even with all of the stuff added on top! ❤
