I can’t believe the report makes no mention of it being a campus for New York Institute of Technology from the late 80s to the early 2000s.

I went to college there in the 1980's. Lived in building 1. That was a nice campus. It's good they are keeping the buildings because they're in good shape and the grounds still look very nice.

The buildings would need a lot of work. It's better off to demolish them, and build something new on it.

I went to NYIT there too... 1984-85...had to take a bus to Old Westbury for engineering classes. Lived in a dorm that used to house mental patients....nealy renovated...nice big campus for strolling ivy-covered buildings...just like a real college.

Traffic isn't an excuse to not build. You need to support the growing population's needs, regardless of the feelings of the pre-existing residents.

On Long Island, it takes a long time to revitalize, if at all because residents are usually in opposition to any changes, and the local politicians go along with it regardless of the need to change.
