My solution for the left page is that I put a funny or motivational quote there to start the month and put the cover page on the right. Makes it easy to start fresh and be inspired. Loved the video and your setup is great!!
@@StephBSanity I used the quote "don't let the past steal your future". For October I used "it is our choices that show us what we truly are far more than our abilities". 😁
I do this too! I usually have a word of the month around which I construct my theme so I usually choose a quote that complements the word. So not only do I get to practice my lettering, it almost always puts me in a good mood when I flip to the page!!
From the thumbnail, I thought the title page is gonna be this super-detailed hyper-realistic drawing/watercolour painting so when u just took the marker (?) and started drawing circles, it surprised me. Pleasantly so. I think you've won my subscription just with this video as it's the first I've ever seen from your channel. I like the way you talked about loose drawing and I really enjoyed the whole video, literally couldn't tear my gaze away. I didn't even notice if the lighting changed or not, because I was just focusing so hard on what you were talking about and what you actually were doing. (And your writing is beautiful.) For some people, I believe your style may seem lazy or sloppy, but I really enjoy it and really, really love it. I hope you gain more subscribers because you certainly have a lot to give. (Also I'm happy you've mentioned your social media at the end and weren't talking about it the first five minutes of the video as a lot of youtubers do there days. It's my personal pet peeve.)

When it comes to circles and straight lines, I have gotten pretty decent at going right in and winging it because I'm constantly working on my lettering! As far as your pet peeve, I can relate! I feel the same about ads sometimes, too. You won't see that from me. My goal is honestly just to encourage people to write and journal more because it is therapy for me and I think it can be for other people, too. I figure maybe if I share the things I love - a pen, a tip, a title page, a spread idea, or a lettering style... it may make a difference for someone! Wow! Your cover page is amazing. I always find myself too afraid to start and everything must be meticulously drawn in pencil first. But I like how you just went for it! I did a November plan with me as well if you wanna check it out! :)
What kind of monthly goals do you set for yourself. If i try to do that i set the bar way to high for myself but i would like to set goals anyways. Not only for the long term
So far I've written to hit 5k on instagram and launch stickers in my shop. That's for business and then for personal I put to go on at least one fun date night per week and take graphic design courses on skillshare. I used to set the bar way too high for myself too. But that made me want to just avoid goals entirely and when I DID pay attention to them, it felt like a burden and I was slacking. So I learned to level that out to where I still challenge and push myself, but not too much that it's a negative experience. Some ideas could be: - eat out no more than 2 times per week - limit complaining and every time I complain, I have to point out 3 positive things to cancel that out - meditate for 5 minutes a day - wean off sugar and cream in coffee by the end of the month I definitely recommend making a goal, even if it's silly or seems pointless. Because it still encourages you to strive for better. I'm really glad you asked about this and I hope I helped in some way! 😊
