Nicely done!! We have a trip to Maine in our future, for SURE. Love all the great information you guys provide. I will archive this one for future reference. Thanks for sharing.🤗
Good information on things to see and do In Maine. As for museums I would add the Cole Land Transportation Museum in Bangor to that list. It houses items of all sorts of transportation with a history of Maine as the overall theme. There is a minimal entry fee that is well worth it.
Can't forget the amount of disc golf courses in Central Maine now, there's a new course within an hour every year. A great, affordable, healthy activity to take the entire family to do and enjoy the maine woods.
Seriously!? We’re so happy you got such a beautiful spot!! Enjoy Maine and explore as much as you can. And make sure you get lobster rolls. Lots and lots of lobster rolls. They’re Chris’ favorite.
Arcadia National Park is definitely on our must see list! The seashore trolley museum looks really cool to visit! We can't wait to get to Maine! Thanks for sharing! ~ Shion and Matthew
Thank you! The big things are easy to find, it’s those small places and off the beaten path sights that are a little more challenging. Are you from the area or planning a trip?
So we were in Maine about 3 years ago, for about a week. We missed all of this! we hope to go back this coming summer. You've given us a lot of amazing places to put on our list. Thanks so much! Lynn and Danny
In about 3 or 4 years, we're planning to make a cross country trip from Washington State to Maine and live there after we retire. Thank you for making such a good video. The ending was really fun.
That sounds like a great adventure. Chris is originally from Washington and Suzannah is from Maine…and now we live in Maine. It’s a beautiful state for sure. Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you for this video! I just wanted a nice description with some great scenery and the first two videos I found were just narcissistic people who couldn't get themselves out of the frame! You guys were great and gave super good info. Thank you!!
We just looked. It’s about 90 miles from home. Looks like a great place visit next time we’re home. Thank your for the recommendation!! -Chris & Suzannah
I'm hoping on going to Maine this year, my family and I haven't traveled for so long with Covid, so since we are fully vaccinated we decided on traveling to Maine this August
That’s really great to hear. So many people have been stuck and unable to travel. Maine is a wonderful place to get back in to travel. It’s beautiful, has amazing sites, and the food up there is delicious!
Nice 10 top list. I have not made it to Maine yet, but my list of things to do and see just increased by 9. Thank you for sharing. Peace and Safe Travel.
That’s great. We’ve got some great footage coming up in the next few weeks that you may enjoy as a photographer. Out of curiosity, was the 10th item that you don’t want to do the drive-in?
Maine is a haul for us to get to but Acadia is on the bucket list to get to one day. Loving those forts in that area and can only imagine how much history there is to explore. Living up to the rumors of “best fall colors”. Mailed/maled wildlife?!?
We all get a little tongue tied sometimes. 😂😂😂. We’ve got some videos coming out in a few weeks that have some amazing fall colors. I (Chris) didn’t know what leaf peeping truly was until this year. Are you guys still in UT?
@@ConsidertheWonders ha ha. Leaf peeping is about traveling around when the foliage changes colors and looking at it. Sounds lame but it's actually pretty cool in New England.
I live in Maine although not from Maine. Maine has a lot of historical places and you guys touched on just a couple. I too like History Chris. Did you know the first naval battle of the Revolutionary War was in Maine? I've seen several people do videos on coming to Maine and so far you guys have done the best job. I've lived here 35 years now and find all kinds of cool places to go and do. So for people who want to check out the places Chris and Suzanna recommend there are several other places near by each of the locations they mentioned. Great job guys.
Thank you for the kind words. I did know about the naval battle (my Father-in-law told me 😂). Maine had a TON of history and so much to explore. This video was done awhile back when Covid was really happening so many things weren’t available. Now that we’re back living in Maine we may start doing a series of episodes about locations but that will have to wait until I get back from the Appalachian Trail. Thank you again!!
I (Chris) was just out there here last month doing some real estate photography. Was up the road on Gun Point and wish I’d known about this bridge! Next time we’re over there we’ll go check it out. Thank you!
Thank you! Hope it helped you pick a few things to visit. Maine is beautiful and has a lot to offer. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! -Chris & Suzannah
Yes, that is quite a drive! We’re heading there from Zion in a few weeks and already dreading the long driving days. The key is breaking up the long days with a few longer stops (3-4 days) in cool places. If you make it to Maine you won’t regret it!! -Chris & Suzannah
You should also check out the Desert of Maine near Freeport, Ghost Trains in the Allagash, and the Solar System model along Route 1 in Aroostook County.
😂😂😂😂 you're going to suggest people waste their time with that trash! Drive all the way up to Houlton and then past Presque Isle to see a few spheres every 20 miles along endless potato fields and tiny rundown towns. That's cruel.
We haven’t been there. Suzannah may have gone when she was younger. Gotta love free!! Maybe will head that way the next time we’re back home. Thank you for the tip!! -Chris & Suzannah
SABAGO LAKE means Great Stretch of WATER ( GRANITE FILLED BASINS ). Painted setting of NATIVE MAINE. Land of MIC-MAC TRIBE. Not to miss out WATER FALLS & Hiking Trails & more. NORTHEAST MOTEL & other places waiting for your VISIT TO KITTERY MAINE. RAFI MAINE USA
Have you visited Vacationland? Where did you visit in Maine and what do you recommend? There are so many memorable places and activities, it's hard to hit them all. We'd love to hear your recommendations for our next trip to Maine!
Maine-ah here and I would recommend a visit to Lubec. The easternmost point in the US. Home of West Quoddy Head candy striped lighthouse and State Park. Beautiful trails can be found throughout Lubec, including newly opened Cobscook Shores. AND when the border restrictions open cross the international bridge to Campobello Island, New Brunswick, which is home to Franklin Delano Roosevelt's summer cottage and estate. 🦞🐳❤️
@@saramcconnell7380 Really great tips!! We won't be back in Maine again until August but this gives us even more things to explore!! Thank you for sharing. -Chris & Suzannah
This is great. I visited Maine many years ago and have wanted to go back ever since. The only trolly I rode on was the one in San Francisco. I would love the museums especially the Owl's Head Transportation museum Call it what you want but it is a zoo. I will not support that. If they are orphaned they need to left alone! Circle of life unless it is endangered. I'll see moose in the wild. Seven drive Inn's thats so cool I wonder if that is the most of any state. We have one near us. We are in Portland, OR.
As a local, I have a hard time seeing what visitors see. I've been out of state in high desert terrain for the last 7 months. I definitely see what visitors see, now. I just don't appreciate little museums, cemeteries, a cavern that doesn't really sound lime thunder, mud. And I was born sickly so I have never been any good at hiking or bicycling although I'd love to be. If in Maine try to find things to do; go fishing, swimming, dig for clams, walk or hike beginner to experienced trails. Don't waste your time on the gimmicks like museums or Narrows bridge tower. They're money traps that don't have anything to offer in a state that has nothing going for it except its terrain and wildlife. Oh, and we have excellent local food & restaurants.
There is so much more to Maine that we could get in to a video and the outdoor opportunities are endless. Part of the experience beyond the outdoors is those areas that share the history of Maine, like it's rich Maritime history, or unique locations that give you a different perspective. The bottom line is that we truly believe that there is something in Maine for anyone. Outdoors, museums, and yes, definitely great food!
You keep it a secret because HallDale are tiny towns and you already have enough traffic coming into town because Main St is the only place in the Augusta region that isn't a dump and has a thriving economy. It's hardly worth protecting. It's a bait and switch.
