Good question Dinesh. I think both scales are important. And you can use the scale you prefer. It also depends on the application. For example in the case of navigation, milling machine, compass degree is used, and for advanced mathematics, radian may be used as radian is dimensionless (as it is the ratio of the length of arc over the length of radius); easy to handle.
