I suggest a recycler next to your incubator so if you make the wrong insect you can get the mats straight back.

Another solid video, Surtr! I love that you are doing your best to go slow so everyone can see all the things this game has to offer. Yesterday I made a suggestion about building a small base, or outpost, in the aluminium biome. I do that for two reasons: 1. It helps me to use the 'scrap' that I get from the ore extractors to manufacture super alloy, as all the elements I need for making that can be mined just from that biome. 2. When super alloy rods are unlocked, I can manufacture those as well. It comes in really handy considering the autocrafters can make up to 8 of any one item, and you need eight super alloy and one aluminium to make one rod. Just makes it easier to get those resources and utilize the overflow of scrap ore you get from the tier one and tier two ore extractors, especially early on when you only have tier one extractors. I have found this to be really helpful as I can stockpile the super alloy for when I unlock super alloy rods and I can make a bunch of them on the go from the unlock. Looking forward to seeing what else you get up to in this playthrough, as I am learning some things from you, and I have 1700+ hours in this game.

Strictly speaking anything you can make in the Biolab can be auto-crafted so you don't actually need it any more. It's slightly easier to see its rotation when it's in the "can't build" state, as the red is less bright than the green. Depending on whether you prefer the internal or external side of the internal wall, you might want to build it from the other side, or even from both sides! (Edit: You did later switch sides.) 26:46 I see that new underwater features have already spawned in! There's a prevent accidental deconstruct mod that requires you to hold Ctrl but personally It think that switching between mining and deconstructing is too awkward and a modifier key to deconstruct would have been better. It might be slightly more organised to have the rod storage opposite the relevant ore storage? Apart from that I like how well organised your new base is!

Well, this is why I suggested to a lot of people don’t shred the resources by the super alloy area, put some auto crafters down and some lockers with the necessary resources for the super alloy

I literally just finished testing to see if I can mine the pulsar quartz when you mentioned it. I am more listening than watching right now, so I don't know if you done it as you seem more into base building this episode... but it is a no go. I also see it interesting I am ahead than you in some things, behind in other things.

Love the base layout, I used the same general idea with individual chest storage on the bottom and second floor, but I threw all my biodomes and butterfly domes and my biolab out the back on the water. Can't really figure out how to work autocrafters as my item storage isn't always within range, so I am still running around doing a lot by hand which can be painful. My first super alloy storm was a nightmare haha, ran out to grab some and got whacked in the head and died.

Oh one thing is you can put the Interior walls on both sides of the Holes in the wall and make them look nice from booth sides.

The good thing is if you don't get the high Boost Butterfly Larva you can shove them into the Recycling Machine and try again. 😁 Great Video really enjoying these.

spoiler for the colored quartz they are not found in the rainbow valley, they can be found in chests in the new portal generator structures, you will need 2 energy fuses for it tho so either keep them if you find them or save your terratoken, they can be bought for 6ktt each. You will also need 2 fusion reactor cells for it, so be preppared for a expensive recipe

I have started with a bit of automation. Also placing out Teleporters and prepare for late game. EDIT: Just got breathable atmosphere!

I'm sure the teleporter recipe has become more expensive. It's less crystals but now has a rod/and other materials. Built my first two yesterday.

I also made the mistake of building a kinda big bas with 2x2 living compartments. there are new 3x3 and rounded compartments, so much better. They can be bought for 10ktt from the trading rockets edit: there are also bigger lockers, really useful, id wait till you unlock them

Great video. However (hate to be THAT guy), when you're showing us around your base, you have a tendency to flick the POV around a lot. This can be quite nauseating to watch as it causes motion sickness. If you could look around a little more slowly it would really help. Thanks for this series. I'm really enjoying it

only two pulsars which I'm sure is less but more of other high end materials

thats a good point about speed of progression once things get going, theres almost to much to do at certain points and not enough time to sort of roam around, getting away from base helps with that i guess, those numbers still just plowing ahead though, its a tricky bit of math thats for sure
