No judgement on that sweaty person on the elliptical. Yeah they look silly, but they're moving, their heart rate is up, and they are giving it their all. Good for them. Also mat-boy is practicing wrestling shots. Good on him too.
I seen some pretty good size bodybuilders in Planet Fitness before. I saw people act goofy like this in other gyms as well. I don't know why they just pick on Planet Fitness but go to other gyms you will see this as well. 👊🇺🇸
I thought the same thing. I go to planet fitness, and I’m a beginner. Sort of. Used to work out religiously when I was in high school 28 years ago lol. But there’s this one guy that gets on the elliptical in there and he’s basically having a full on rave on the elliptical, and first time I saw him I was like “that dude is crazy”. Until I noticed that his rave was nowhere near done after an hour and he was still goin strong. Still see him and I am envious now because after about 3 minutes on one of those I’m dying inside 😂
That wrestler doesn’t belong here, but I can understand the confusion. His moments will look very odd to those who haven’t seen them, but his form is actually solid. Dude is probably a collegiate wrestler
You know what they say my dude, only real recognize real and only skill can recognize skill. 99% of the people who go to planet fitness are neither sadly.
@@burn8325 how is it bent bruh you narps never make sense oh wait because your sweaty and all over them it’s bent so how do you fight people…without touching them??? Because if you do you should be on the news
I gotta admit, Planet Fatness has a great business plan. Price so cheap that the lazy and hopeful will keep it in the hope that they will someday go, while appealing to those who think walking 20 minutes on a treadmill is a workout. Pizza, bagels and candy to keep em fat and coming back. Reputation that drives serious lifters away and keeps them at a distance. They are brilliant!
walking 20 min on a treadmill is a workout. As long as you are moving and making yourself feel better. You don't need to be lifting heavy weights or running miles just because other people are. but no, I don't agree with the junk food there
@@CarlosAlberto-gf3dy There’s a ton of reasons, there are places that are too insecure to walk or run in, I personally had a really bad leg injury last year and although I am using my membership because I’m lifting a little a walk/jog on the treadmill is a huge workout for me, even though I was a runner before the accident A 20 min walk is a huge workout for me today
Respect to all these people in the video for trying it out hopefully whoever was recording and laughing at them actaully took the time to show them the proper form, we all start somewhere and if you see someone struggling try not to be a dick about it there just trying to get in shape same as you even if you are further along than they are
That's horrible advice! There is nothing worse than giving someone instruction on something they didn't ask your opinion on. I'm guessing you're at 0:30, on this video. Amiright?
@@rgh622 uh… no you should absolutely show someone how to do it no matter how much of a dick they are, they will eventually get hurt by doing it wrong. Doubt you could actually do it right though so it’s fine.
@@rgh622 you probably are a planet fitness goer i guess. “Judge free zone” is not the same as “help free zone” but you and a lot of people in planeg fitness probably do not know the difference
There is a way to go about helping people. If you watch their body language and see they actually need help and they make eye contact, maybe you can offer help. However, I do agree we shouldn't be making fun of people. A friend sent me this thinking it was funny. Yeah...not so funny. We shouldn't judge.
That wrestler in the blue shirt would have wrecked the guy filming him. 😂 Dude had great technique and was fast. It is a gym. He was working out. Only looked weird because the person filming had no clue.
PF is more than enough to do your thing. it is a matter of using the equipment correctly. Almost everyone there is too busy "looking pretty" instead of getting things done.
I feel like you'd be better off doing pullups though. I started doing inverted ring shrugs yesterday, and I was curious if I could also do an inverted dip like him. Was about the same as a pullup, but with more chance of injury.
@@KevinGonzalez-en8fd I’m just saying that’s something you really don’t see. How many times have you seen a guy practicing wrestling takedowns in the middle of your public gym? I’m not hating just saying not a usual thing
I love how all the other gym-goers don't even stop for a second to look. They just continue on with their business like what these people are doing is normal.
The guy at 2:14, you laugh and make fun of him, but I guarantee he will fuck you up. It looks like he’s practicing shooting into some kind of back take. Pretty explosive movements if you ask me. To people who never train, it looks weird and funny. But to people who know how to grapple, we know what’s up.
The one with the dude in the blue shirt doing wrestling warm-ups isn't a fail. Guarantee he'd put you on your back faster than you can say, "Sorry, dude just messing around."
i actually train at one of these. if you know what youre doing you can get a damn good workout in. but most people have no idea what they are doing and are drawn to this place like flies. so you get a bunch of ego lifters and just general idiots. its always funny to watch. though id say 99 percent of people in there are normal gym goers but there is always that one idiot that shines out of the rest.
Many of these gyms will find ways to curtail their memberships that become designed to attract other members. I've seen many managers point to me when they give new members the tour. Also, they point to "instagram women" to get the men to join. It really is pathetic.
@@MrJ747 it is all about being organized. get your opposing muscle groups the same strength (ex; bicep/tricep, or leg curls/leg extenders, etc ) and you will see the vast potential of this limited gym.
I think the people who film others at the gym who are likely mentally ill just don’t know what they are doing are WAY more embarrassing than the people they are filming.
If you saw any of this shit in a gym you would judge these people too. You might keep it to yourself but you still belittle them in your mind. Laughing at this shit is a natural reaction and while it might be wrong to make fun of them on the internet, its ultimately harmless and far from "mentally ill".
@@fatsidekick vro you just proved my point, your also judging them the only difference is that they actively voice their mockery. I honestly doubt these recordings negatively impacted the lives of these people in any significant manner, the gym is a public space and people acting like weirdos in a public space are completely open to ridicule. Like I said it may not be morally correct but its far from being "mentally ill", the people who recorded these videos made the same judgment as you, they just acted apon it, if your so against it then why are you here laughing at them?
@@Dogue83 what you are saying literally doesn’t even make any sense or have anything to do with what I said in my comment lol but sure whatever you say.
Honestly, that is what I was thinking. It seems strange , but the people filming are probably not wrestlers. So it will seem strange to those who are not in the sport.
@@laurenkelton11 I agree, but I am not sure if I would consider it a fail. I mean that may be his only option as far as we know. I mean, I guess if you consider going too hard on legitimate exercises a fail, which I can see that being a good case for the video.
@@franklinmills1756 Their reason is because they are seen as 'meathead' / 'intimidating gym rat' accessories. Their words not mine. I challenged them on the 'No Judgement Zone' slogan and they had no answer.
@@IanSolano if that was their reasons for the gallon that is an uninformed staff member the training program literally states liability based on the first reasons
@@jamesnewman556 He must have been uninformed, mate. I did think it was a little ridiculous. Thanks for letting me know. Makes me feel a little better lol
I can understand why some people would be confused with how the equipment works but I can't understand how they could think this is the right way. Holy shit.
when I was 10 I went to a planet fitness for a bday party and I had worked out at the ymca with my mom the week before turns out planet fitness is a shit corporation
let's see, planet fitness open all the time and $10 a month. YMCA costs $40 a month because you pay for all those extras you will never use. It's like going to a car parts store for brake pads and they try to sell you the entire rear axle.
Watching this makes me want to renew my gym membership. Working out at home isn't nearly this funny. I forgot how much I missed seeing this out in the wild.
I'm surprised Planet Fitness hasn't produced some world class championship fighters by now 😂 it's something about PF that makes people want to fight-train.
Half of theses comments are exactly why PF exist so predominantly. A: Not everyone wants to be a 230LB ball of muscle. B: Most people don't even come close to maxing out the equipment at PF. C: You consistently prove people like you are more worried about what other people are doing rather than yourself. D: you say people aren't judgemental at "real" gyms, while simultaneously bashing people for going to a different gym than you. E: 100lbs is 100lbs regardless of what concrete box you lift it in. Idk what mental gymnastics you do to get to any other conclusion. F: You can't even browse RU-vid without shit talking beginners trying to get in shape, and wonder why people think gyms and gym rats are toxic.
Yeah, because they promote a judgement free zone. Which is great in theory, but this involves giving the clientele pizzas and candy and I don't know if they have instructions for the workout machines but these people clearly aren't looking at them if they're there. It's a place with dangerous machines were they tell people to do whatever you want and you'll look amazing and they put themselves in danger. They also have dumb rules in a thing called the lunk alarm. It goes off when weights at the ground's too hard or someone runs too loud cuz it oh, I don't know, promotes body-shaming? Aggressiveness? Getting fit and pushing yourself? Who knows.
The quality of the gym in terms of cleanliness, etc, is fine, even well above average. The issue is that for true gym rats, it's like a child's romper room for adults. 3/4 the area is machines, and half of those are cardio. Of the "free weights," it's only dumbells and bicep barbells up to 50 lbs. There are Smith machines, but NO Olympic bars, squat racks, press benches, or bumper plates. However, for
Planet Fitness is so sensitive to others that it interferes with applying yourself to make progress. As a former trainer, I can be completely silent and use exceptional gym etiquette (manners) and still have another member say I intimidated him/her with the weight used.
@@alexadame436 I use to work for one and can explain. The candy is there for diabetics, if they suddenly need sugar as a lot of exercise can be dangerous for them. Pizza Monday (Which only happens once a month) started when the power went out at one and was out so long the manager felt bad and bought everyone pizza. Somehow that stuck as a tradition.
The dude at 4:05 is doing a legit movement. He is going for external rotation and strengthening those rotator cuff muscles and rear delts. Areas often ignored. Good on him for trying to target that.
There is no shame in starting with low weight and getting correct form. Going slow and doing it right makes it harder and is an all around better way to make gains. If you go from no experience to lifting more than you can handle you could land yourself a shit injury and then have to spend weeks recovering.
Jake T I mean I have a membership at a decent gym but I keep my planet fitness memeberhsip because sometimes I wanna go late at night on the weekends...You can still get a better pump at planet than u can at home and that's a fact
2:15 was actually really impressive... he's obviously a trained stuntman. you can tell by his movements he does katana/sword stunts or whatever. as a professional dancer myself i found his ground transitions pretty damn incredible, takes serious conditioning + a good centre to do what he was doing, don't get why people thought that was funny.
