Great review. (as always) Not sure why "That guy with the glasses" rejected him. His videos are at least on par with the old Nostalgia Critic stuff, and better than his new content.. in my opinion.

+Blue Army He's rejected a lot of people with talent. Decker, The Unusual Suspect, RebelTaxi, etc. Although I think all of them dodged a bullet there since Channel Awesome is apparently shutting down due to how poorly run it is.

There's a common idea in Hollywood that evolution follows a set course. So this movie works on the idea that this planet is younger than Earth and thus is still in the stage where there are dinosaurs. However, it's not just low budget productions that make this mistake. The episode "Threshold" from Star Trek Voyager has a crew member exposed to warp 10 energy that causes him to evolve at an accelerated rate. So he turns into whatever the human race will turn into in the future. That's the same science problem that this movie has. It assumed that evolution is set in stone and has to proceed along these lines. The movie "Evolution" has a similar idea of evolution following a set course.

This idea goes back at least to the 1890s. In 1895, Gustavus Pope wrote a novel called Journey to Venus where Venus is populated with dinosaurs, hominids, and other creatures from Earth's past.

That Allosaurus that attacked them looked a lot like the one from the 1925 Lost World. Also, why did you skip the cameo by the Rhedosaurus from The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms?

I think it's because the director really admires the work of Ray Harryhausden, the Rhedosaurus made a cameo as a tribute to his work.

You know a pigeon during World War 1 was shot like 5 times. And managed to deliver a message that saved a platoon of soldiers. Birds can be pretty Hardy, And dinosaurs are basically just tougher birds

I cracked up @6:27 at both the shitty acting and the ridiculousness of her answer when the woman says, "Oh, I'm sorry, I- I forgot to tow it in," w/ the distress & remorse of someone who forgot to bring the Shamwow. LMAO!! OMG, woman, you're the communications officer! You have one purpose on this crew and you forget the one device that is essential for getting rescued, which should be topmost on your mind!

Ordered this on DVD years ago. Only thing that really stuck out was the soundtrack.oh and I think captain Kirk came running through their camp followed by a slow moving lizard man, but that may have been a deleted scene.

Saw this movie back in the 90's, when I was a lil' kid. It was a hell of a time, because it was one of my first movie experiences. For some reason I remember it starting a bit different, though. With a team of paleonthologists being formed to investigate a site of some sort, using a highly technological transport, which ended up somehow sending them to the land of dinosaurs. It could have been a different movie, tho. It probably was. IT WAS!

I have to admit, Planet Of Dinosaurs is a guilty pleasure of mine. I've seen it several times. It's pretty bad, but I like it anyway. It has a certain charm.

I mean say what you will about the bad acting and the very boring and one-note human characters in this movie they may be bad and atrocious even by b movie standards but despite that the movie's still entertaining and fun to watch anyways considering that the movie's got cool-looking stop-motion dinosaurs in it. Add to the fact that it's also got some trippy and weird music for a 70's dinosaur movie makes this movie even more iconic and unforgettable.

Samuel Benefiel Since they're other worldly dinosaur-oids one can't expect them to be exactly like earth dinos. Perhaps these dino-oids developed tails with more maneuverability. Things that make you go "hmmm ...?"

heh, this is an older movie i actually did watch. it was fun though my main interest back then was simply to see things with dinosaurs and this one was a lot more accurate than say, king kong, where stegosaurs and brontosaurs were carnivorous.

I used to own the VHS copy of this movie when I was a kid. I thought the DVD version would have better picture quality. Oh and Decker water can be deadly in more recent Rockstar games.

I love this film in all its 70s b movie sonic score glory,with all its bad acting and all of the great dinosaurs eating or killing all the characters who we could care less about I enjoy this more than i did Jurassic Park of course its not better just more fun and enjoyable to watch the cool space looking dinosaurs,this was released in Nov 1977 but was never released theatrically so by the time people got around to see this film it was probably anywhere from 78 thru 81 maybe even later. I heard Ray Harryhausen was on set to watch the stop .moption

Planet of Dinosaurs movie like their is two Earths and in one of them it's still Dinosaurs lives and in another one not and has high tech and has scinfiction weapons. These astronauts become first human beings on Planet of Dinosaurs.
