I was too young to see the PotA movies in theaters. My first brush with the franchise was the TV series. I can still vividly remember going with my parents to their friends’ house one night. I got DC’s Ghosts treasury edition book on the way to keep me occupied, which was cool, but the highlight of the night was seeing an episode of PotA for the first time. I was only four, but it still sticks with me. Before long I had all the Mego figures (except for the astronaut) and the Escape from the Planet of the Apes Power Records comic and record set. The original movie is still probably the best of the movies, but Escape is my favorite.
