I know this is a really old video, but I just happened across it & as I JUST STARTED, the title caught my eye... so, I watched. I can't say I learned a lot that I didn't already know, but your advice at the end is what I picked up on the most. The fact that your first spreads aren't going to look anywhere as good as they will in 6 months. . That doing this (putting down stickers) it's a "learning process" & that you WILL get better over time. Thurs is SO TRUE for me...I just bought my ECLP in late Sept... it has 2 pieces of washì & 1 sticker in it & NOT A SINGLE pen mark! I have kits for Oct & Nov that u haven't used yet & now it's time for Dec!!! Kinda like you, when I want to do something, I jump in with both feet. I've bought TONS (& I mean TONS) of stickers from a couple id Etsy shops & EC. I've just been ADRAID to do it. I'm so afraid that when I post a picture on social media that I'm going to just hear negative comments & it's gonna tell me how much I screwed up. I know... it's just that pessimistic voice trying to take root in my head. So, it felt good to hear your comments. So, again...THANK YOU!!! From one planner "newbie" to someone who used to be one...I APPRECIATE IT!!! P.S. Your toddler in the background was adorable. I'm sure toy m you hated to have sugar happen while you're filming, but unlike some who seem th approach the planner YT videos like their million dollar productions, I think it just makes it "real". P.S S. SO SORRY I made this post SO LONG...I NEVER meant for it to be that way. OOPS!!! ☹☹☹
I've gotten used to the layout of At-A-Glance weekly/monthly quick notes. I would put random stickers in to give it color and make things stand out and had no idea this was a THING. Now, I'm watching all these videos and I am blown away! If I bought all of these stuff, I would be ...broke
You did a great job with your video. I really liked seeing the changes you went through from the time you first started. Very helpful and you gave me some good ideas. I like that I see a lot of planning in there, not just decorating. You're a good mama, and that's the most important thing.
Thank you for this video. Just got my Erin Condren for Christmas and it's so intimidating to see some spreads from people who have been planning forever and have giant collections. I appreciate all the tips. AND your son sounds adorable. I love that you didn't edit it out... Too cute. ❤️
+Ms. MandaMo_XOXO It definitely can be! That's how I felt in the beginning. You'll fall into your own groove with it. Gotta keep it real with the kiddos :)
I'm a newbie to planning (just got my Happy Planner this week!). I actually DO like your earlier spreads. They seem very functional (not too busy, but still pretty). Thanks for all your tips. this is a very helpful video.
Thank you so much for this video! I have been using a day designer planner from Target and earlier this week I ordered a Happy Planner. I am working on building my sticker collection so I can make mine look cute. I love watching your PWM videos!
So glad I watched this video, I hated how long it took to finally get in the hang of planning, but I've gotten to a place where I'm prett much comfortable. Your Kits made it much EASIER. P.S. Your son in the background is hilarious, every time I choose to plan my newborn wakes up lol. Planning is my CALM
Thank you for sharing! I just got my Erin condren planner for Christmas and did know what to do next to make it nice and cute! Lol.. Would you recommend a more affordable place to buy all the crafty stuff that goes in.. Like Michaels? Hobby lobby? People with etsy shops?
glad you enjoyed the video! for me, we don't have a Michaels, hobby lobby, dollar tree or JoAnn but if we did I would definitely be shopping there. as I understand Michaels comes out with amazing coupons so washi tape and stickers come out really cheap. I would always be shopping there if we had one where I live! as for etsy you can literally type in planner stickers and thousands will pop up. you could just browse to find a good price point for you. before purchasing though definitely take a look at their reviews
I absolutely love the banter between you and the baby, so sweet! Lol. Girl, I bought that Erin Condren and let me just say, $$$$$$$$$ Happy Planner next year. It is going to take some time building my Washi tape because I have to find the right kind, color etc. I don't have that much but.... however don't get me started on the scrap paper though, whew, and the desire to diy my own covers and dividers, but....
Great video for a planner newbie! I'm using a plain and simple Target planner now, but I'm currently trying to decide between an Erin Condren or a Happy Planner. Meanwhile, building up my washi, sticker, and pen (I love Sharpie fine point pens!) stash. Your spreads are very inspiring! Also, love the kiddo noise in the background. I have a 5 year old...it's never quiet! Keepin' it real! :-)
+desirae1123 Thank you! I'm glad it helped. They are both pretty much the same. Same layout, just the boxes for the happy planner is longer. Once you get into decorating I think the Erin Condren may be a little better because of the coil. The new ones she has come out with has a large coil. With my current one (older style) the coil is smaller and it doesn't even close anymore because of all the goodies it's decorated with! & seriously, I can't take you enough about for the comment about the baby noises! I'm always so worried it can be annoying but hey.. what am I supposed to do! I got kiddos! & that is quiet lol, my daughter was playing with granny and if my oldest was home... oh my it would have been a mad house :)
Very helpful and informative video. Thank you. I'm just getting into decorative planning and this helps me alot, I've always planned but just plain boring. Thanks. Johana
I have been viewing a few of your videos and love your tips and tricks. I especially love when you flip back through some of your previous layouts- like the one at 6:51 in black and white. Stunning! I've tried connecting to your Etsy shop and I can't pull it up. The link even on your "about" section is coming up as an error with the link. Can you please share it here so I can take a look at it? THANK YOU
Great video Michelle!!!it was super helpful as I still am trying to figure things out lol! Your stickers were my first etsy purchase & are still my go to favorites. I find myself planning around your page flags at times 🙊 thx again for the tips!
Hi! I noticed on your pages kahala and I figured you're from Hawaii! Any tips for places you go for supplies? I'm new here from mainland and I should have stocked up while I was there Ben franklin is so expensive! Any other stores you go to that aren't so pricey?
Love this video! I've started buying printables but the paper I have (Avery Labels) bleed when I write on them compared to when I buy kits from you and other shops. Do you mind my asking what paper you use! Thanks so much!
all my planners have been horizontal, then I decided to buy a vertical Plum Paper planner and it was life changing! I have no clue how I used a horizontal for so many years. I love my plum paper I am at planner peace
play planning sounds fun. seems to be what I kind of do atm with my zipped planner as can copy from main planner and make it neater and write lists etc. would like to use more stickers and experiment with stamps
I am new subscriber and you are absolutely adorable!! in 2019 one of my goals is to be more "on top" of my schedule but make it look Happy. Making me look at my planner makes me focus on my have- to- dos and my want- to- dos. I am a horizontal planner...LOL no judging now :) Hugs.
I really want to start planning. I got a planner from school but I can't figure out how to do like all the decorations. I'm hoping I can get some of the kits for Christmas.
+Julielynn Soaps Because we don't have any good craft stores where I live I usually buy mines off etsy or ebay. If you have a michaels or daiso near you those are great stores!
this was awesome!! Ip use to ask why multiple planners until my Doctor put me on a diet. Now I have made 3 I have one athat goes in my purse, one that stays home, and a food and water intake planner.
great advice. i must tell you, while i love your videos, i really enjoyed this one because you were actually speaking here. the pwm, makes me feel a bit rushed and i think it would be better if maybe you could do a voice over instead of the constant music. you have a very soothing calm voice and i enjoyed listening to you. anyways, thanks for sharing this
+fitjock1 It's so hard for me to speak on camera but I am definitely getting a little more comfortable. As far as the PWM. It's the easiest for me to do at this time just because i have so much other things to do and the PWM take up about 3-4 hours as it is. My new goal is to maybe upload 1 plan with me a month with talking/fast forward or a voiceover once I figure out how to do that haha. I guess I need to youtube how to do a voiceover. LOL! but thank you for the feedback!
Have you ever tried the Frixion click pens? I find my red, pink, and green are too light while the rest of the colors are fine. Do you have the same problem? While I'm not a complete beginner, I thought this was a great vid! Thank you for filming and uploading it. And hi to your cutie who was sounding adorable. :)
Unfortunately I've never tried the clickable colored ones. I only have the black ones with the fancy pretty barrels which I find that the black isn't a true black. I really like the colored ones I featured because they do work great! & thank you! I was super nervous & of course thought of more things after the fact. Glad you enjoyed it! & my little knew I was filming so he had to make some noise 😊
Great video! I just recently discovered your channel and have been going through and watching all your videos. What is the website you mentioned- something cheap.com? I'd like to check it out.
