We got extremely lucky for our upcoming first cruise. Watching lots of videos to learn about everything (including yours). We’re going on the Wish. We got Palo Brunch, Palo Dinner, Enchante Dessert, Royal Gathering…..and Serenity Bay Cabana!!!! (Not concierge) I’m still in shock we got all of those. We leave on the 25th and the excitement level is through the roof. A real bucket list trip for our 40th anniversary.

We just got home to Rancho Cordova, CA from the March 1-10, 2024 Disney Wonder 10 Night Hawaii to Vancouver Canada cruise. Had a great time as always. This was our 22nd Disney Cruise and will have our 25th one on the Disney Wonder May 5-9, 2024 4-Night Baja Cruise from San Diego which will earn us Pearl Castaway Club status. My first Disney cruise (and only so far) was in 2013 to Alaska. At the time I lived in Vancouver and I booked 2 weeks before sail date Guaranteed with restriction and Canadian resident discount. It was all my cousins and I could afford and we did not have money for anything extra! Not even drinks! We did pre paid gratuity and a small amount on top but that was it. We had a blast! We were 20-23, just out of uni with huge student loan debt and wanted to treat ourselves 😂 so .. yah. We totally did a cruise without any add-ons. This summer, I’ve booked a Disney cruise for my family. I have kids now and I think they’ll have a great time! I am going to splurge on fancy dining and possibly even a spa and definitely non-alcoholic special drinks 😂 I really wanted them last time and couldn’t afford it

Enjoy your time when you are cruising Disney but be prepared for lines for characters and shows. I’m not sure if it’s different for the US and European cruises but the Australian cruises had big queues for all that sort of stuff. We just disembarked our NZ cruise this morning on RCI. We’ve sailed 4 times all on different cruise lines, all very different experiences. Good and bad things with all the cruise lines

That will have 3 days at sea, so that gives you a decent chance at getting it 😊 If it’s not available, either check around 4-5 days before you sail in case anyone cancels their reservation or make sure to ask as soon as you get on board to get on the wait list.
doing our first cruise this December as a very merry time on the fantasy for our honeymoon. were hoping to get a Palo Brunch but we'll see!! Checking the itinerary for DCL. Looks like my family is on the Wonder the cruise before yours. We've got our placeholder and reservation set for May of 2025 for a 4 day from SD to BC. Also something to mention is getting Disney GC from Sams or Costco for a discount. Can add to the room for purchases.

Hi my first Disney cruise 🚢 I paid for everything in advance and I didn’t have to pay nothing at the end well brought money for alcohol and tips and for shopping in Nassau but everything else was paid for. I’m going on the fantasy in August 2024 and everything is paid off to plain Disney World we going for 3 days prior the cruise, gratitude, transportation, everything

I went on my first ever DCL cruise on the Wonder April 2024 wish I saw this vid before oh well. I am planning my second DCL cruise spring 2025 on the Wonder same itinerary and your video is so helpful =]

It’s linked in the description of this video - our favorite travel card is the Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa. It comes with a fairly high annual fee ($550 currently), but we get that back and more with the rewards we receive. This is especially true because it covers the needed parts of travel insurance for us for all of our trips. As long as we pay for those trips using this card 😉 the Chase Sapphire preferred is also a decent option that has a cheaper annual fee, but the rewards and benefits we get from the reserve card is more than worth it for us! And like we say in the video, always be responsible with credit cards!
You need whatever travel docs the specific itinerary requires (see DCL’s website for requirements for different itineraries). We have had passports for all of us for anything international, even when cruising. It’s the best option and frees us up for wherever we want to go. Not expensive and worth the little bit of hassle, in our experience 😊
Hi, love your videos. We just got back from LA (from Fl) went to Disney Land for the first time we had an amazing time. Living in Fl we go to MK often next visit is Animal Kingdom in a couple of weeks. Looking to book a cruise for June n then we fly to Cancun in Aug. Tenn in Nov. Disney cruise maybe one day as we are fans and attend the parks often. Safe travels ❤
I don’t drink alcohol but I have heard that on some cruise lines you can bring pop(soda) on board. I was excited about that since it would be hard to live without my Dr Pepper!

We just were on the Fantasy out of Port Canaveral. Obviously, Disney World is near by as is Universal, but Kennedy Space Center is close by and an awesome experience! Just wondering if you have ever done an Alaska cruise on the Wonder?
So fun! We haven’t sailed in Alaska on the Wonder. Not sure if we will on the Wonder - the price is so incredibly high on those cruises. We may consider a Royal or Princess Alaska cruise though.
Being Australian we aren’t so familiar with tipping. Have you got any tips (pardon the pun) on tipping, mainly for porters at dock etc please? Thank you.
We try to have some ones and fives ready on hand and if a porter takes our luggage, we hand them some money. Up to with how much you want to give them. Jobs in the US that expect tips don’t pay a lot in their paycheck because they receive many tips throughout the day. Especially on the ships. It’s just a different way to get paid.
Disney lets you do the “mandatory” tipping via the app so you’re usually good to go there. You can always tip more (usually in cash) at the end of the cruise. We usually give everyone a little extra. And as they mentioned you normally will also tip the people handling your luggage (about $1 per bag).

There seemed to be quite a bit of opportunity to add onboard activities, including Palo brunch & dinner, tastings/drink seminars and more. Whatever you can (or can’t) book onboard, we hope you have a great time! There is so much to do without booking extras!
