I completely agree with you. 1st gen Amaze little stiffer suspension still it was soft. I dunno why they made even softer. Steering feels very good while turning but not in straight line
Sir AMTs are jerky, this is the biggest disadvantage. Rest these are easy to maintain and cheaper to repair. CVTs are smooth but very expensive in case they are to be repaired. Now it's up to you, which one your prefer.

I agree with your views 100%, I own a Petrol manual amaze and have driven it 28000kms, one added +ve for me is its SUV type driving command despite being sedan and its compact size which allows me to maneuver through narrow lanes easily and quickly

It is superb but for two things. One, body very very light in view of Indian’s craze for mileage; Two, it is a little struggling on gradients. Other than these two, Amaze is superb.
As an Amaze owner owning both the old and now, the new Amaze, I can confidently say that this is a no nonsense car. For city driving, with bumper to bumper traffic, it's more than adequate. Go with the CVT transmission for a hassle free driving. The engine is super silent and so smooth that it gives a feeling of sitting in an aircraft. It's also easy to drive on the highways(high speeds) and very reliable. I didn't feel any body roll on high speeds. The bonnet visibility is good, gives a good judgement of the road and vehicles ahead, unlike some bigger/compact SUVs. Yes it lacks the punch or the power as the low end torque is missing, and has less features compared to the competition. However, the positives compensate the negatives in my opinion. One negative I observed is the suspension is stiff on the new Amaze, which wasn't the case in the old one. It gets a little bumpy on bad roads. The after sales service experience for me so far has been good. Nevertheless, if you are tight on the budget and looking for a reliable car, which will not make you feel regret for atleast 3-5 years then Amaze is not bad.
@shivamagarwal1559 sir Amaze is like a jack of all, master of none except its safety which is better than both Baleno and Dzire. Baleno has a lot of fancy features and excellent mileage as well. Agar aap thoda bhaut safety ko nazarandaz kar sakte hain to Baleno se acchi koi bhi nahi...
Very good honest and unbiased review.. I have a CVT version of new model Honda Amaze, still the retraction of steering is not great and I feel the steering is tight compared to Hyundai and Maruti Cars. Apart from this, I just love Honda Amaze for its performance and all other aspects. power has not been a problem in CVT, when you want to overtake, just downshift using paddle shifters and you can take off at a great speed. Love the Ivtech engine.

@@jatinpopli Hi bro.. in sonet, there is a problem with rear passenger comfort. 3 people cannot sit comfortably. However, in Amaze 3 people can sit comfortably compared to sonet. The performance of Amaze has been great till now. I have driven for 18k kms in 1.5 years. In city i get a mileage of 14 kmpl and highways i get around 17 to 18 kmpl. Also, Amaze has Ncap rating of 4. I am not sure about Sonet if Ncap has been tested or not. Also, why do you want to go for manual in sonet when you want to go for CVT in amaze ? If you choose manual in Amaze you can save 1 lakh.
There's a shift lock in first gear, will only slot under 12kmph on idlijg rpm. MATCH the REVS, and it wipl slot in first even at 30kmph provided the rpm is matched
@Himanshu sir my car has reverse gear issues as well... It sometimes doesn't engage in first gear below 10 which I couldn't show in the video. Probably my unit has some minor issues. But very satisfied with the car. Thank you for the comment. And for sharing the information. Means a lot.
@Auto Infotech : Namaste sir...Today i took test drive of Amaze VX MT and CVT both. 1. I faced the 1st gear shift issue while car was moving. However i understand from comments that speed probably didn't match while shifting. 2. Steering response same as your video. It doesn't move back quickly to original position when I took a full circle at round about. 3. Noise inside cabin was also heard same as you mentioned in your video. 4. CVT response was better than AMT however Altroz DCA was best. About safety rating, GNCAP has reduced it to 2 and it has two airbags however all other cars (not TATA). have started providing 6 airbags from base variant. From today’s perspective which car do you suggest Altroz XZA (DCA) or Honda Amaze VX (CVT) for a family of 4? Majority of uses is in city but not on daily basis. Ride comfort , ease to drive, safety is the primary criteria. Boot space is manageable. Regards, Prakash

If you have selected that these 2 cars are your pick I would suggest you to go with Altroz. Reasons Yes Amaze has a 4 cylinder engine and CVT but these are the only 2 USPs of this car along with the boot space. Rest the car lacks modern features with Altroz offers along with strong safety ratings. DCA is better in performance... So buy Altroz...

If you want to shift to first gear in vehicles like Mahindra pick-up, Bolero and others you have to first low down your running speed to almost zero only then you will be able to put it in first gear. Moreover, it even happens with my Alto K10.

Trying to engage first gear while in motion is not recommend in most cars. It's a safety aspect and the gear box could fail . The proper technique is to almost stop or crawl when engaging first gear.

Even I own Amaze 2022 S variant petrol. I am facing the very same issue. 1. In traffic if I want to shift down to first gear, vehicle won't allow sometimes. I had raised this issue with service centre as well, but no permanent fix. 2. If dirt forms around clutch then it will give some noise whenever you press the clutch. Everytime service centre people use to apply greeze over there. But, no permanent fix. 3. Suspension is on softer side. If I am driving my car fully loaded when I come across any speed breaker, even god can't safe my car from under body hit. 4. Engine is not that refined. Sometimes I use to get engine noise into the cabin. Honda should learn from Suzuki how to manufacture a refined petrol engine. 5. If I drive beyond 100 KM/HR . I will get an impression that car is moving on air. Sincere advise don't drive this car beyond 100. 6. Mileage is decent in city I will get around 14-15. When it comes to highway I will get around 17-18. We can't expect any thing beyond this from a petrol car.
@Madhu sir these comments make the video more valuable. Yes the downshift isn't that good as compared to other cars but this could be due to the fact that the first gear at higher speeds is locked and is a feature of the transmission to avoid over revving of the engine but yes this is too low in Amaze. Definitely the clutch makes sound in the rainy season and when dirt accumulates. Also the engine is feels less refined as it was their first 1.2 litre engine for India but improvements could have been made. Keep commenting... There is no driving issue faced like you, on highway it was 140-150km/HR with smoothly. Built quality is good. There was some negetive which I have written.
@The doenshifting to 2sr gear is never a big issue, i have drive Amaze 36000 kms and i only downshif to 1st if my car needs to stop and have to break otherwise i keep on 2nd gear even at speeds of 10km/h...@inflame-yK2

Priorities- Safe,smooth ,stable, comfortable rides with low maintenance and reliability.Boot space is important as well. Budget- 11 lakhs Transmission-Automatic Shortlisted Amaze and Altroz. Please suggest. Any other cars can do as well.
@Santosh sir thank you for your query. Looking at your requirements I will suggest you to go for the Honda Amaze VX AT because of the following reasons 1. It is a no nonsense car. 2. Has the biggest boot in the segment. 3. Rides are very comfortable in cities. 4. Has good stability at higher speeds upto 120 kmph and I don't think you will be riding faster than this. 5. It has a good 4 star NCAP rating. 6. 4 cylinder refined engine. 7. Decent mileage of 18 kmpl on highways 8. Interior space and color scheme is also good. And above all CVT transmission which is smooth unlike AMT. There are many cars with CVT but their boot space is 70 to 80 ltrs less. Also some of those have poor safety ratings. So don't be confused and buy Amaze, you will not regret it. If you find the answer worth a subscription I will appreciate that. Feel free to ask anything that you have in your mind. Thanks a ton. 🙏
Go for Amaze than altroz. Amaze top end will fill up all your requirements. But Amaze also got its own disadvantages. Still I recommend to go for Amaze only rather than Altroz.

@Amiya sir/madam thank you for the appreciation. Yes it feels a bit underpowered sometimes. But the taxi tag is still way smaller than Aura, Dzire and Tigor probably because of its rear suspension which is too soft. Keep supporting.
@Vishwas sir Amaze and Ciaz are altogether different segment cars. One is under 4 mtrs and the other is around 4.3 mtrs. You will get the top model of Amaze with a CVT transmission in around 10.8 lakhs whereas you get the base of Ciaz in 10.5 lakhs with manual transmission. But yes Ciaz has a better boot, more cabin space and is a segment above. I own a Honda Amaze and drove around 56K kms in 3.5 years and till now never spent a single rupee on maintenance except services. Mileage in the city is between 15-17 kmpl depending on how you drive which is more than Ciaz in the same scenario. Resale of small cars is better and depreciation is low when compared. Maruti and Honda both are reliable and durable but you get slightly better performance in Ciaz. One thing more Ciaz is not a success for Maruti. If you really want the base model of a midsize sedan like Ciaz then buy Honda City as you get the same mileage, the best in the segment with all the important features by just paying a lakh extra. Hope this helps.

@AC Sir you will have to understand that there is a big price gap in both the Variants that you are talking about. If budget is not the constraint then I would suggest you to go for City without any doubts. Let me tell you the reasons In that extra amount you will get more boot space, more interior space with comfort that Amaze can never match, all the useful features like auto AC, touchscreen infotainment, alloys (what if they are not diamond cut), better NVH control, almost the same mileage, better build quality, good quality plastic, better steering, smoother clutch, almost th same mileage on highways, more powerful engine with better refinement (one of the best petrol engine), better highspeed stability, better suspensions and nany more that I can't mention. @Anuj sir I was just talking about the car that I used. I never had issues with fit and finish, yes the infotainment is poor which I mentioned in my Amaze review 2 years ago. @benny sir actually the first gear problem that I showed in the video was when the car was moving and it may not have matched the speeds to engage first gear. Below 10 kmph it will engage. I was in a hurry and I made this mistake I think. But my reverse gear doesn't engage sometimes which I wanted to show actually.
This is a no non sense car. Easy to drive for a newbie like me. Just one question which is been bothering me is the common rusting issue in Honda vehicles. Can someone share inputs? Helps to keep it in choice list.
Sir as you said this is a no nonsense car... The quality of paint is excellent. I have been using it since Oct 2019 and there are no signs of rust. Rusting is mostly because of the ignorance of owners in areas like NCR. But I can't talk about other hard water regions.

More wheelbase (means you will have more legroom and knee room for passengers) 3. Wider tyres (better grip and cornering) 4. Better Mileage 5. New and fresh look 6. Better suspension (Never drove fronx but I know they must be having a balanced suspension) 7. Softer clutch (as Maruti always has) Amaze Pros 1. Lighter Interiors (feels more spacious then what actually it is) 2. Bigger boot (for long weekends and trips) 3. Cruise Control (for highway cruising) 4. Soft Suspension (better city rides) 5. Better safety (4 stars and Fronx will not be tested) 6. Honda's reliability 7. No waiting period and bribe issues 8. Top end features like push start button, crash sensors etc which we don't actually see. So both cars are good but if I have to pick one I will buy Amaze just because of the convenience features like cruise and safety that it offers along with the boot. But for mileage and handling I will buy Fronx as no one can beat Maruti in that

Sir I don't find a valid reason why they did not give cruise control in CVT. For me the reasons could be they wanted some USPs for MT or maybe the cost of CVT was already too high according to Honda. Adding a cruise control would have made the car more expensive. Regarding the color you chose, I don't want to influence your decision. It's a wonderful color. Just remember that dark colors are tough to maintain.

I have owned many cars from Esteem, Uno, Cielo, Tata Cierra, Wagon R, Swift, Ciaz and now Honda Amaze Top MT. I can surely say Honda AMAZE is the truly amazing car in all aspects if you are a sedan lover.
@funnuornotitshere.7223 sir Ciaz is a C segment sedan and has many more features than Amaze. So if you look at the overall specs you will find Ciaz has a lot more features and has more space with better quality interiors. There is no comparison between the two. But still the amount that you pay in Amaze and what you get is a great value for money.

@Cut-a-lyst sir yes there are some rubber grommets that you can ask any mechanic to put that will increase the height from the rear and will not look that odd. But personally speaking apart from looks I don't think that is much of an issue.
