@@Watchman1983 Good question, I’m sure the CX-30 has enough room for the front two seats, but not for the rear seats. The CX-5 would be a much better choice for your case! 👍🏻
Intelligent guy. Solid review. Not repeating the company's talking points or reading out the brochure. His genuine detailed thoughts. This is how reviews should be.
What a beautifully designed car, I consider this model as a baby Maccan. Actually I love every Mazda model, you can’t be wrong when you choose any of the new models from CX-3 to CX-9. I love both interior(very premium)and exterior but what most buyers love Mazda is the driving dynamics. Great video Hann👍🏼👍🏼
Totally agree with you! Mazda has really up their game on the looks in terms of their new design language for their models, premium and classy! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Johnny! 🙏🏻
Hi, I have a 3 sedan, but I am interested on buying a cx30 because it’s higher but I like more how it looks the new Mazda 3…. What do you recommend me ?? 😅
Took the test drive 3 days ago and after riding for just 15 minutes, I realized how powerful this car is! The engine is solid and it's super quiet inside. It was my first time using the infotainment system but trust me, it's the easiest thing to use (although couldn't try apply carplay). So, I finalized the just yesterday! So excited to take it out on a long journey and feel its worth! Love the video, it's to the point and it's a review from an actual user, not for paid promotion or whatever
Happy owner of CX30 here as well. 10 months in I am still falling in love with it! People said I should have waited for the CKD version but thank god I did not wait because I got the Ignite Edition and it is so prettyyyyyyyyyy.🥰
I like the side-cladding on my CX-30! I just traded a MINI Countryman which had that same type of cladding and I loved it. It helps not getting the paint scratched!
Love my 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition, but I had to black-out certain additional parts of the vehicle to better incorporate that generically thick black plastic cladding & bumper into the overall design vibe of the vehicle. I vinyl-wrapped (black satin) the front/side chrome trim, the silver roof rails, the painted area of roof between rails back to the black rear spoiler, & the recessed triangular area of back hatch where license mounts to diffuse the stark horizontal contrast of the black plastic bumper & painted hatch. Coupled with the black wheels & black side mirror housings of the Carbon Edition, the vehicle now looks much better IMO.
Hi, which trim did you get? Is the base version ok ? I am planning to consider CX-30 2.5 S (base trim) ? Or at least I should start with 2.5 13:04 S select? Pls advise.
Intelligent review. You really know how the cx-30 is the car you need and the car you want. I like the point on sporty and practicality in one package - sweet spot indeed.
Excellent review- and for an excellent car. I have the CX30 Astina- top of the line 2.5 Ltr AWD and can honestly say it is the nicest car i've ever owned. I have never had an issue with the brakes or loose speaker, and the safety warning disable alert only happens if the sensors are dirty. You can easily get out and wipe over them to fix the problem. Love your work!
I am really enjoying my CX30 but I wish I had got the Premium with the automatic liftgate. This is my first ever Mazda--the interior almost rivals my daughters Lexus. The ride is smooth and it has great acceleration. This will not be my last Mazda :)
I feel that there are models where the initial design look has to fight to meet functionality and other aims, always a mutation happening, Mazda works really hard on that and I admire that. The CX-30 is where looks meets functionality, I will still have the 6 as my favorite, having now driven all the models available in the US, CX-30 with similar drive feel now comes second. If they are smart an elongated CX-30 that the rear scoops down like the Mach E, not the Cx-5 with its height will be a desirable addition as the SUV market gets crowded and popular opinion shifts again. Another issue with the US market with SUV tinted windows for long driving, you are left with many walls of cars on the road, as much as I prefer the 6 the surroundings have changed over the years, and a cross over like 6, not replacing the 6 which should embrace racing, should come into the market as an addition, CX-40?
Automatic tailgates are convenient but you have to be careful not to accidentally bump the key fob button when you walk away. Otherwise your goods in the back will be gone. That nearly happened with a work colleague of mine who has a CX-9. She parked the car and walked away with her hands full of her work gear. She accidentally touched the button on the key fob and the boot opened without her realising it. 20 minutes later another colleague told her and she rushed back to her car. Luckily nothing was taken from her boot including $300 worth of sports gear.
Proud owner of a CX-30 here as well, same color same spec😂 I cannot agree more with what you had said. The only 2 complains I have for the car are Bermaz did not brings in the Bose audio because I found that the bass is a bit underwhelming and also the high spec did not equip with 360 camera.
Hahaha high five! 👍🏻 agree with your complains, and maybe the manual seating adjustments for the passenger side 🤣 thanks for watching, appreciate it! 🙏🏻
My friend had bought this mazda too..same reason he told me about the infotainment system that it's more safer then the touch screen. One day I text him on WhatsApp asking where are you? He replied I'm on the way..in 5 minutes I'll be there. That what i like about Malaysian when they "sembang" good good.
nice review! One thing to point out though, the Sport mode doesn't shorten the gear ratio. Only CVT can have variable gear ratios. The sports mode actually hold the gear longer so you are in higher rev range, it won't be and impossible to change the gear ratios without changing physical gears.
Thank you so much from Rome Italy for the interesting and nice review. Just yestarday I ordered a 2024 CX 30 Skyactive X 186 CV Homura. I will have it in November and I'm so impatient especially after watching your video. Cheers
yeah test drive it last week, very premium and nimble car, the only downside is the space at the back, its quite small to put on carseat though, otherwise very good car
This car is really very nice looking. Only the bad part is the infotainment is very small. If this car provide ambient lighting and high tech feature like BYD Atto 3 will be a very perfect compact SUV. Awaiting CKD pricing. Hope is more affordable than current CBU price.
That’s true, the infotainment is kinda small if you compare it with the newer cars out there currently 🫢 but i kinda love it the design instead of a huge tablet-styled screen which a lot of car currently have. CKD should definitely be more affordable i guess. Anyways, thanks for and watching and taking the time to comment! 🙏🏻
Thank you for your detailed and informative video. As the CX30 comes with ACTIV-e Film, is that effective for our warm weather in Malaysia? Wondering about the heat resistant of this film as compared to V kool or Llumar. Any insight is appreciated. Tq.
Nice presentation. On a sidenote. I really can't understand why people are craving for a touchscreen infotainment? We are not even allowed to use our fone while driving! Touchscreens are cumbersome while driving. It's just like using your fone you have to take away your eyes off the road! My goodness! Or maybe these people looking for a touchscreens are those who don't own a car? This command controls are really great. Speaking about practicality. I'm willingly glad to trade a touchscreen infotainment over this mazda's.
Thank you, appreciate it! I know right?! It’s really smart and refreshing for mazda to incorporate non-touch screen infotainment screen as most if not all modern cars are now using touch screens.
@@WhenHannMeetsCars My pleasure. I totally agree. I remember back in 2016 when I was still driving my HRV, I was amazed at first because everything was touch. The infotainment, volume, and ac. Then I had regrets after a few months because I realized that it was dangerous esp. adjusting the ac controls. So I told myself next time I by a car, no more touch screens! So yeah like said, Mazda is really smart and refreshing for doing something like this. It is for the safety of the car owners. I don't care about the other modern cars. LOL!
Awesome video! Thanks for your opinions and time. My only question is, I’m wonder what options you added from say, a base model? I’m trying to keep my spending very limited and would very much appreciate any information you could add there. Definitely a sweet looking ride! A guy came to my work in one and I seriously thought it was a much more premium model. Thinking the black for my tastes! Thanks for your time! Second question came to mind…. What about navigation? Are maps displayed? Thanks again!
Thanks man, appreciate the kind words! So the higher spec variant (2.0 High) actually comes equipped with quite a lot of upgrades, LED combination tailights/headlights, rear and front parking sensors, automatic tailgate, 18” alloy wheels instead 16”, two tone brown leather interior, and advanced safety systems, which the base model (2.0 Low) doesn’t have. However, the base model is already a good buy!
Thanks for the reply! Here in Michigan, United States, the model come in 7 variations. 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 S Turbo Premium and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. They currently have a decent lease offer as well as good pricing overall. Headed to the dealership tomorrow. Gonna weigh some options and pricing. My main attention will be to what’s been reported as some limited visibility. Therefore; a upgraded model may be in order to at least get the best safety features and the 18” wheels. Here, unless I am mistaken, that’s just one bump to the select for those basic features. I suppose it depends how the dealership is willing to work with me. Otherwise it would seem simple enough to get the base model and desired payment from home, right on their website without the need to jump through hoops at the dealership. I have owed two Mazdas in the past and both were excellent vehicles. A 2012 Mazda 6 being my last and favorite. I did see in another video on just how the maps do display. Airplay for this Apple fan. Be it for Waze, Google, or Apple Maps. Apples version has greatly improved! Thanks again for the information and I’ll update you on my decision in the coming days. For anyone who is wondering, here in the states, the 2.5 engine (191 horsepower) is standard on all models, while being beefed up in the turbo lineup and landing at 250 horsepower. All come paired with a tuned 6 speed automatic transmission.
@@WhenHannMeetsCars didn't have the chance to pick between mazda 3 and cx 30.. cx 30 was still not launched when i need a new car. it was basically between a previous gen civic or 4th gen mazda 3.. Chose the mazda 3, never made a better decision in my life.. haha
Hey nice review. What do you think about the cx 3? Seems like you only mentioned cx 5 and Mazda 3 as the comparison to Cx-30. Any comments on the Mazda Cx-3? Is there some defect on it causing you to not even mention it as an available option for a Mazda small car?
Thanks for the comment! That’s a really good question, imo the CX-3 has the sportiest cockpit and pretty agile as well due to its size, but with that it comes with a small cabin space, making it less practical for large family/tall people 👍🏻 overall it’s still a good car with quality as you’d expect from Mazda
hey Hann, im interested to find out your first and second insurance payment for this car - how much difference between during purchase and after first year
@@WhenHannMeetsCars Well, you’ve definitely taken great care of it. Mine only has 1,300 miles now and your’s looks just as new! Looks like you got the front windows tinted too? That’s on my list. Here they just come with the back seat and rear hatch window tinted.
I would opt for the bigger 3 row 8 passenger CX90 with inline 6 3.3L turbocharged engine and rear wheel drive. CX30, CX6 are too small for me. CX9 has 3 rows but 3 row is very tight and very little cargo area.😊
Im also having the squeaky noise from my brakes but when i gone to mazda they told me they can’t do anything with that. How about your brakes? Are you still hearing that?
One main reason I don't like this model is the plastic cladding you mentioned which is around the wheels- just horrid! even in the Lexus it just looks cheap!
Yup they do offer factory fitted front and rear dashcam which i think is necessary because of the thick plastic piece below the rear view mirror (houses the camera/sensor) kinda makes it difficult to place one 😂
