@rashking01 Hi there, this is when it becomes tricky. If you tank is full with rocks and you want to grow on fry you're going to have to strip the tank every time to catch holding females. As there holding for the first time I recommend letting them spit in the tank this will encourage them to hold full term next time round. 2nd time holding you can setup a holding tank for the females or strip them around 20days. Thank you, it's nice knowing I inspire people. it's a great feeling.
@CrazyFishGUY24 It's roughly 63US gallons. @CJA223 Hi the black rock is some sort of granite and I'm not 100% sure on the lighter coloured rock but it's not porous.
Run your fingers through the sand once a week to release trapped gases then syphon about 2inches above the sand to pick up the waste - it shouldn't suck up the sand
@wwwequilibrium I would like to possibly sump it but it depends on the cabinet spacing, if not a sump I'll probably go for an fx5 with 1x1400lph allpondsolutions external or 2 x 2000lph allpondsolutions externals
@bolly12345 I only just got into cichlids but sumped the tank as i did with marine loads more media and filter sponges on top so you can remove to clean in a second without stopping the tank, the other advantage is i used to have a refugium in marines now i use a section thats full of goldfish weed reverse lit it consumes a fair old whack of nitrate making the water quality better between changes, also handy for putting the odd fry or a fish thats maybe been beat up, i do have a poor qaulity vid
BOLLY!!! you should definitely go for the 6'x2'x2'...the 220 would be perfect...something i could only dream about having....and with your experience..it should be a piece of cake and a masterpiece!!.....and I'm sure you could always use the 75 for a grow out tank....and use those fry to give to your fans!! :)
