Having such a great time hiking with you on RU-vid. Makes up for when I can't get into nature myself. Love your curiosity with non-bird organisms. Keep it up dude.

Normal mountainside trails in southern California are the only paths that really scared me. I feel more comfortable with trees around that I can grab on to. The basic roadside parks in Carlsbad were seriously steep and I feel like I have issues griping on gradients because people shorter than me can make it up icy slopes but either because of how I walk or my center of gravity I can't find purchase. Falling holding a hawk is funny, you instinctively hold the bird up and just accept your fate. Fencing response should be named falconer response.

We always called them red spotted newts. They r also poisonous. They produced a poison on their skin when they r threatened. But its not enough (from a single newt) to poison a human. But it is for the animals (like birds for example) that would prey on them.

That Maiden Hair sells in baskets at some places for $20 or more.

We had common yellow throat on a recent canoe trip on the Mississaugua river this weekend too! One of them even gave me a nice look!
