That was very informative! I have used all those techniques at one time or another. The video was a great refresher course for me! I didn’t know that lots of hormone can be too much of a good thing, I will be more careful to tap in future! The idea of the mini greenhouse was also new to me, I will be sure to give that a try! From just three purchased Foch hybrid grape vines, a friend and I have propagated a hobby vineyard with hundreds of vines, what a money saver! The hybrids often have sufficient phylloxera resistance on their own roots, the oldest Foch vines in the vineyard are coming on for 20 years old and have been very productive!

Solid explanation. I’ve been experimenting for years. Sometimes when pruning I’ve just cut the stem and placed in some good soil. I always think-I’ve got nothing to lose and a lot of space to fill. Plants are very expensive now.

Hello Robert, I'm in Israel, I am enjoying your videos and learning a lot. I will be propagating a cutting of bougainvillea, second try. These plants are extremely expensive at the nursery and I don't see the color like a neighborhood plant I have my eye on. Last time I managed to kill the plant after it rooted. The info I have seen says the roots don't like to be injured when transplanting. I suppose you have less experience with zone 10. The branches surely are long enough to have cuttings with different thicknesses. Any advice?

Hello, I have learned so much watching and listening to your playlist. Currently I am preparing to open up a garden area that has not been used for a number of years. We purchased the property a couple years back and now I am ready to get the garden sorted out. Three concerns I have, one deer, I know what to do about that - short 4' high fence with some additional horse webbing around the top, two, about twenty back from the garden are a few large walnut trees - how or will they effect the garden and what should I do, third, the garden is over run with years of grass and other growth, not to bad but still there - should I rototiller or just cover with tarp to kill grass and weeds. Thanks Mike

Killing with tarps has done well for areas that I turn to flower beds or garden. If the ground is compacted, a light till after killing can be done. Wood chips after to keep weeds from coming back.

When rooting fig cuttings in cups of water, would it be benificial to add a little rooting hormone powder to the water? If so, how much is recommended? Thanks.

Can you use the leaf cutting method for Aloe Vera? I'll try it. Just wanted to know if it has been done. Thanks.

Aloe vera is the easiest plant to propagate...just stick the stem in soil and it grows! Give it a little water.

@@donnalum4413 thanks. I'm asking about leaf cutting propagation. The stem is very easy. Have you ever done the leaf cutting method?
