Here is my mnemonic for types of ground tissue: Parenchyma: they are the PARENT cells which provide for the others by providing what they need to grow: metabolism and photosynthesis. (Pare- starts both words.) Sclerenchyma: The strong soldier cells. They give their lives for the greater good of the plant, die and become woody growth. (Sclerenchyma, strong, and soldier all start with ‘s.’) Chollenchyma: they are support cells. These are the ‘column’ cells. (Both words start with he sound “col-“.)

Dear Mr. Andersen, i am 40 years old and studying plant physiology for a second time to become a golf course superintendent. I had the good fortune to discover your channel today and want to say you managed in one day to get through to me what i have tried to understand for over 20 years. You have a wonderful gift as teacher and your style and site is so easy to follow.! I will share your site with many, thank you.

* exception: chemoautotrophs: archaea and bacteria extremophiles who are obligate anaerobes: oxygen kills them. C6H12O6 is sugar; that last O is oxygen in sugar. So, there is life without sugar.

These videos are extremely helpful. The sum up a chapter in 15-20 minutes and it makes my studying more concise and straight to the point rather than focusing on minor details. I have a quiz on mitosis, meiosis, cell Cycle, plant structure, growth, and development. It's like 4 chapters! Yikes! 😬 better watch all the videos to do with it maybe 2-3 times and I'll be golden!! 😂

Based on the venation in the leaves of the flower you would be able to tell if it is Eudicot (Dicot) or Monocot. As Mr. Anderson explains Monocots have parallel venation and Eudicots have branched.
