it's very easy! It's probably one of my most easy going plants. I never owned the green one but I imagine it would be very similar. More light = more white leaves too
Thank you! If you mean the brown shelves, they were actually just from Costco a couple years ago. We used them as regular bookshelves for a while until we moved and then I repurposed them for my plants instead!
Im SO happy to see you on RU-vid now!!🥰🤍 Love your stories on insta so this is just so nice to watch🤗 Im absolutely loving your aesthetic and your plants🥺 you can really tell how much care and love you put into caring for and curating your collection! And Im in awe of your anthurium collection. I am slowly getting into them more and going to expand my collection on my birthday when Im visiting the ecuagenera shop here in Germany🥹🥳🥰 Also your pots are all SO pretty! I wish I lived in Canada to be able to get my hands on some of these stunning pottery pieces😤😂 Here in europe these styles of pots are not easy to find.. I defenitely looking forward to your future videos🤍 repotting videos would be great or your anthurium pollination/seedling care. 🥰
Ahh I am so excited for you; you're going to love the pop up! Definitely check out the anthuriums that they have! They are usually a good size, too. As for pottery, some of the pieces I have are from artists who are from all over the world! It's the beauty of international shipping 🤩 I think one of these days I will do a small video showcasing my planter collection since I really enjoy collecting those as well. Thank you for watching, I'll try my best to make fun videos! hehe 🥳
@@HerPlantStories The cool thing is its not a pop up its their location in Germany where they have a store open from monday to sunday❤️🤗 Its soo cool. Yes please make a video aboit pottery that would be awesome🥰🥰 !!
Yayyyy!! Thank you!! I was not exaggerating when I said I was stress sweating right before I posted this lol! But I'm so glad you liked it! I'm excited to make more videos 🥰
Great first video! I really enjoyed seeing all your plants (even the Majestic!) I also have a small glass of water nearby (when I remember) while making videos too. Nice work Bekka!
ahhh thank you so much!!!!!! This means a lot coming from a seasoned RU-vid veteran hehe! 😆 I am DEFINITELY going to have some water ready nearby for next time!! Talking makes me so thirsty, lol!
Thank you so much!! I had so much fun making this video! It's definitely more labor intensive compared to snapping pics for instagram, but I think I will enjoy this new way of sharing my plant journey 🥰
Great collection. I was wondering if you had a video on demonstrating how to use a Hoya trellis. I’ve heard that they have to be wrapped counterclockwise. Is that true?
You did amazingly well? Not photogenic? Whaaaaaat? You're a beautiful young woman. Embrace everything that makes you, you!!! I would love to attempt planting in leca/ or pon. Maybe a new vlog idea for those who would like to enter the leca-playground? Loved your vlog. Will see you on your next one! ♥
ahhhh thank you!! I just can't help but scrutinize myself when I'm on camera 😆 but I find the more videos I try and film the less awkward I feel hehe Okay, I can try to make a video about it! Although my experience with pon is a bit hit or miss 🥲 I like leca though! Thank you so much for subbing! 🥰
Can you share the Link for your dragonfly clips?!?! And your clear hoya hoop trellis. And where do you get the clear moss poles? Are they all the thickly ones?
Hi! I think I've shared the link for them in my most recent Fave Silver hoyas video! They're linked in the description 😁ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FUVwkjLhd34.html And yep, the clear moss poles are all from Grow Thiccly!
You're gloriosum that's in the leca topped with moss-do you have the stump covered in moss? I had one imported and CANNOT make it happy. I had the stump completely uncovered sitting on top of leca that never got wet but nothing is working 😔 great video btw!
yep the stem is covered in moss. That way it stays nice and humid around the nodes which encourages new roots to pop out! Leca tends to be too dry along the surface so roots struggle to pop out initially, so top dressing with moss has been a game changer for me and all my leca plants root easily that way 😊
Excuse me? did I hear you say you're not photogenic? the LIES! 🤨 you're gorgeous girl. Anyways, where did you get or how did you make those clear poles for the splendid and glorious?
awww hehehehe thank you!!! 😆 I guess we're always our own worst critic lol. The clear poles are from Grow Thiccly! They make the most amazing single piece clear poles, I could gush about them all day haha! Here is the official website www.thiccly.com/shop but I think they just started selling on Amazon US too
oh!! Hehehehe I just used up some old material I had from making potting mats!! So they're basically just drawer liners (check out Dollarama or CT!) and I just cut them to size 😎
Of course! Do you mean the saran wrap around the moss poles? I use the saran wrap around the nodes while the nodes are still fresh (before roots have emerged). Doing so increases the humidity around the nodes and keeps that section of the moss pole moist for longer, which encourages the roots to come out and root into the pole without the risk of drying out! If I was growing my plants in a greenhouse, the environment would be humid enough that I would not have to wrap saran wrap around the nodes.
when you were talking about the amount of sunlight hoyas get versus the leaves it produce…I think high light gives smaller, thicker leaves because it has less surface area to lose water and it’s fatter/thicker because it’s keep more water in its leaves versus lower light which loses less water so it’s leaves can have more surface area and it doesn’t have to keep as much water because it’s not getting enough light. Just my thought
I mostly get the more unique pieces from small time pottery artists! A few favorites of mine are Rain Ceramics, Klei ceramics, Three Feet Mudworks, and Amii ceramics! Larger pieces are from nurseries, bookstores, and local home goods stores 😊 I plan to do a little video of my favorite pottery pieces soon!
I got them from Costco a couple years ago, they don't have the exact same ones in stock anymore but this one is somewhat similar ! www.costco.ca/whalen-ashlyn-ladder-bookcase.product.100683052.html?langId=-24
ah, I'll have to review the video later on but I think you might be referring to the copper spoon kalanchoe (behind the white wiz), and my philodendron sodirini in the cabinet! I totally forgot to go over a couple plants during my tour lol
Thank you and hello from Winnipeg! 🇨🇦 my clear trellises are from Propagation Diaries! They are a bit pricey though, and are shipped from the US so I only bought a couple to try but I really like them so far! They do feel pretty delicate so I am really careful about handling them 😅
Yeah, I think it could be the lack of proper airflow. I have also been told that using the cotton wick method rather than directly submerging the bottom of the pot into the reservoir helps, too!
ohhhhh welcome to the club!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! I've been using the Grow Thiccly poles for almost a year now and I can never go back to normal poles anymore! They are my absolutely fave poles. They just make the job so easy! And I don't have to mist them constantly which is such a WIN!
Hi I found your very first you tube plants video and I love your set up and your plants are amazing especially your pink princesses but one thing really caught my eye your sun catcher I love it I heard you say you got it on Etsy and I want one can you send the shop info with a pic of it you went by so fast and I checked Etsy and there’s hundreds of them so if you don’t mind can you send me the info please. Thanks a bunch barbara you plant friend💚🪴☀️😀
hi! Thank you for watching! Hmmm I recorded this video a while back so I can't recall what you might be referring to - could you tell me the timestamp and I can try to let you know where I got it! 😄
@@HerPlantStories I did try to look for the time stamp but I didn’t find it I think it was in the beginning you spoke about your move then you went pass the window and you also said the cats would also be in your codes I will look again and see if I can find it I’ll let you know . Thanks for responding 💚💚
Ok…the plant pot your pallidiflorum is in is too cute. Can I ask where you got it from? Just came across your channel randomly and love the calming energy so I’ve been watching a lot of your content back-to-back, but I see that you haven’t uploaded new videos in awhile. Hope you end up making more videos soon~ ❤
Hey mate, great video! Love your thai constellation, it's definitely what would informally be called 'creme brulee' based on the amount, layering, and yellowness of the variegation. I'd be growing it out and propping it to sell as I've seen plants that size go for 7k USD. So... definitely something to consider in order to fund your planty life haha. Besides that, if I can give you some advice, I'm a podcaster/youtuber by trade (Aussie English) and suggest you dig into your audio and learn to adjust it consistently across the video as well as relative to the background music, as the levels kept changing and the music was a little too loud to hear you easily. If you want specific advice, just let me know and I can tell you exactly what I do for podcasts and/or RU-vid vids. Audacity is a great free program to get started with.
Omg thank you so much for the constructive feedback!! I was nervous about the quality since I have never edited anything longer than an Instagram reel, and definitely not a long form video with audio clips and music! The video editing wasn't too bad but I will admit I struggled a bit with audio and like you said, making sure it was consistent. When I decided to start this channel I knew I wanted to invest in a decent mic at least, since audio quality is something I always appreciated when I watched videos, but editing in post is another story! Haha, I will definitely look into Audacity!! Thank you again! As for the Thai, I wish I could grow it out to prop and eventually sell but it grows sooooo slowly! I only get a new leaf roughly every 3 months 🤣 It might grow faster if I grew it inside a greenhouse but I like being able to appreciate it in my living room so..... oh well! Hahaha
harahh! very excited to add a new canadian planttuber to my watchlist. loved your video. your collection is beautiful. I'll head over to Insta and follow you, your video just popped up in my feed. 💚
Welcome to YT Bekka! This is the other side of pollens_28 😆😆😆! Hope to see some great content soon! And i dunno what your talking about but youz a natural YTUBER🤘🏽😁💚! 👍🏽
hahahahaha hello on YT!!! i didn't realize you were into fishing? 😲 so cool!! And thank you hehe i was just really nervous about posting my first ever video, but everyone has been so nice so I'm feeling super optimistic now 🥳
@@nopetsallowed6399 hahaha yes, I am well prepared! I've lived in Winnipeg before, moved away for a few years until life brought us back here! Seems like we can't escape the peg lol
Thank you!!! It's definitely not the fanciest nor the largest, but they're all my faves 🥰 I just felt kinda bad because I know not all of them are looking their best atm, but hopefully they'll recover soon! 🤞🏻
Happy to find your channel, headline “uncommon plants grown in room humidity” caught my eye. Congratulations on excellent first RU-vid video, I subscribed right away as I want to follow how your plants do in your new space. Best wishes with new life, cats, job, marriage, near to Mom & Dad!
Thank you for subbing!! Haha, a lot has changed for me this year, and it has been a crazy busy summer! Some of the plants took a bit of a beating but most have bounced back pretty well, and it's been a small journey changing certain aspects of my care routine to adapt to this new city! I will definitely be sharing my plant care journey as it evolves 🥰

Your collection is sooooo beautiful!! This was a very nice and calming video, keep it coming!🌱🪴💚
Oh it's good to know someone else has noticed the same thing! I tried to find more info online about it, but it seems like nobody really talks about it! I think I'll continue to observe how my leaves grow in response to light intensity 🤔
ahh thank you so much!! Yeah, i really love matching my plants to my pots and vice versa! I also really appreciate a beautifully crafted hand made pot. Maybe I should do a mini planter/pot tour next time!
Perfect video! Many thanks for sharing all these beautiful and rare plants. 🥰Congratulations on starting your own RU-vid Channel! I know it will be highly successful. Everyone likes to see healthy, beautiful plants and you have a house full of them. Most impressive! Happy growing. 👏👌🪴🥰
Great video. I'm now following you on Instagram. I'm always looking for ideas on how to display my plants, so I appreciate what you mention here about how you enjoy that aspect. Thank you for sharing, you have some beautiful plants! I really enjoyed it.
Thanks so much, I'm very glad you enjoyed it! And I agree, I think there's a certain art to displaying plants in a way that they can all compliment each other and the space that they're in! And sometimes that can change as plants grow, too. It's another part of the hobby that I really find enjoyable 😁
Fabulous first video! I love it … your collection and your ways. Looking forward to many many more! I love all your plant non plant supplies. The clear moss poles. Circular trellis. I especially love that all your plants are part of the home. & thriving. Outside green house cabinets. I also am holding steady. While I have created individual climate vessels when needed. I’ve held steady in not employing cabinets tents or terrariums! So… this video is extra inspiring!
Thanks so much! Yes! I love being able to enjoy my plants out in the open without having them enclosed in a cabinet or greenhouse - they outgrow those very quickly anyway! Growing in room humidity is certainly doable, but it's definitely a little bit more challenging compared to growing inside a temperature and humidity controlled greenhouse. And the plants don't really grow as quickly, either, but I'm all right with that 😊 I wish you the best of luck in your plant journey!
Thank you! I usually don't show my face when I am posting about my plants since on my instagram, it's all about the plants! Hehe 😄 RU-vid is a different story though, so I think I just have to get used to it. Thank you for your kind words!
I used to live in BC on the island! Then in June I did a big move across to country and now I'm based in Winnipeg. Managed to take all my plants with me though! hehe I'm so sad I missed the anniversary sale, they looked like they had a ton of great deals!
Sure! The clear acrylic trellises are from Propagation Diariespropagationdiaries.com/ 3D printed trellises are from SNJ Plastic Designs instagram.com/snj_plastic_designs/?hl=en and the dragonfly clips are from Amazon amzn.to/3ATVmMJ
Hehehe, thank you so much! I had ZERO video editing experience prior to this so I think I can still improve a bit, but I'm pretty happy with the way this first one turned out! I hope you enjoy my insta too! 🥰
it's unreal! I fully expected my channel to just stay at 100 subs or something for a while, so to actually be close to 1000 after just a week is so wild! I'm so grateful 😭
