Part one of our journey through one of the most beautifully presented tasting boxes we've ever seen. First up is a dynamically fruity aged white rum blended from three different islands.
I told Roy over at Aqvavitae that 2022 is the year of rum for me. I am enjoying a Teeling Irish finished in Plantation Pineapple Stiggins casks. Cheers gents!
Plantatation note what sugar (dosage) is added for each rum, on their website. That's being more honest that most single malt producers who don't state if caramel colour is added.
Yes I noticed that. While we did have some qualms about the level of sugar in some of these bottles, it's extremely good of them to honestly display it (albeit not on the bottle)
Plantation vintage and single cask stuff is their good stuff and most of it is without sugar added or coloring added but that box set looks like their lower-ish end with sugar and coloring added and kind of low ABV
Veritas/Probitas is the best of that style of white rum and it's Foursquare and Hampden Estate blend and it destroys the Plantation stuff and it's higher ABV.
