Hello, I'm new to your channel. I've got to hand it to you for transformation your property so beautifully. I've been gardening for 25 plus years and I still cannot get enough gardening. The love of your community, parents, and fans brings me to tears. To be able to capture such an audience is one thing, but keeping them with your warm hearted and genuine expression is absolutely the key to unlocking every person heart.

As usual an absolute pleasure watching your beautiful new property develop. I love your idea of having your roses and peonies scattered thought the garden as a part of the landscape rather than in lines. It's going to be absolutely breathtaking. Can't wait. You honestly have inspired me so much in my garden and for that I'm truly greatful 💓💓💓🌿

I bought a Gingko tree for my mother in the 1960s. (It was in memory of her father.) It is planted in Macon, GA, so it is very tolerant. The fall leaves are like gold coins! I must remember to get my brother-in-law to stop by and take a picture of it now. I know you will love yours. Ginkgos are slow growers.

You talked about it taking maybe 3 years to see significant growth on the cypress and it made me think. I was just rewatching your video on planting the “Bloomerang Lilac” as I just planted one for my mother in law. It was an amazing resource! What about doing a video of some things you’ve planted in the past say 3-5 years so we can see their progress and structure changes. Like how they filled a space, or if they are doing well in that space. Maybe have viewers suggest a particular plant, then pick randomly which ones you feature and do a before and after. Could be a great winter video. I mean it’s not like you have anything else going on (jk) 🤣 Just a thought…otherwise how’s the Bloomerang looking?

Hi Laura and Aaron. Besides being informative and sharing your knowledge, you and your family are a delight to watch... Thank you for being entertaining as well. Do you have hummingbirds in you area? Have you ever thought of having a section of your South Garden planted for them? With so much of the natural habitat being destroyed in every state it would be great for them to have some plants geared strictly for their unique needs. It could be a learning opportunity for the children as well. Thank you for sharing your family with all of us. D.

Almost all trees are labeled so you can tell what specimen they are and what year they were planted. There's a secret grotto you can peak into that's super old near the Capitol. And if it's too chilly on the day you visit there are countless museums and galleries within walking distance with free admittance. You can even attend a free tour of the Library of Congress.

Everything looks great Laura! I would love to find that kind of ginkgo here but the ones they bring are getting huge! The mulch only steals nitrogen if you mix it in the soil. Not when you lay it on top. Never had a problem with that. You will see a lot of mushrooms tho next year when it start decomposing. Especially sting horn mushrooms but I don’t mind them because they help decompose the mulch and help plants absorb the nutrients they need. Also they are so interesting. I’ve got plenty 😁

Oh, my! That gingko is stunning! I might need to get one of those. Wish I had room for the haywire. Have you decided whether to designate a spot as a permanent dumping ground? Seems like that is going to become only more necessary as time goes on. Perhaps right behind the new shed, which has walls now - so exciting! ~ Lisa

Oh I do so enjoy these videos. I am amazed as the south garden takes shape. You have done a spectacular job. The gingko is beautiful. A wall of those pillars would be beautiful too. Take care and have a blessed day!! Hope Samantha Grace is over her ear infection.

Hi Laura and Aaron! The Haywire False Cypress are so pretty and unusual at that size. I would want them to keep that shape and "wild" look. LOL! The Ginkgo will be interesting at only 15" wide. It would be good to tuck in a small garden, too, as a backdrop, as long as the root system wouldn't do damage to foundations, or pipes. Thank you so much for sharing!

Not gonna lie, I laughed out loud when Laura couldn't remember the name "heavy duty tip"...LOL I mean, she rattles off the most bizarre names CONSTANTLY, and she struggles to remember the one name that actually makes sense...heehee So grateful for all I've learned from this channel, and I still can't remember 90% of the plants I have actually planted in my own garden.

I had a white bloom Lilac Tree at my old house that I planted and was SO in love with it. Kind of slow growing, but had a beautiful shape. You may consider that tree as well ....

It would be very cool to put in a walled secret garden like in the book The Secret Garden. I think you have a space way in a corner somewhere do do this. Just a thought. It amazes me how you have taken a blank site and brought it to life.

We have them in planters down town and when they bare fruit it is a messy sight. People walk through the much right into the stores. Does this variety bare fruit. The color is beautiful but I wouldn't have one because of the fruit. It gets mushy..

@@dottietefelski4178 Gingkos are either "female" or "male". The females carry the seeds and the males produce pollen. Sometimes you'll hear that you have to plant a male and female near each other (they have to "see" each other) for the purpose of creating viable gingkos seeds for planting. If you can find a male, you won't have the seeds but it can be hard to tell before they reach a certain age. I'm not sure about newer cultivars.

So fortunate that I ran across your channel. We have just "cleaned " out our woods next to our property and there isn't any winter interest! Thanks for the great idea of the cypress. Looking forward to getting next spring! Blessings ❤🏡🌲🌳

Many of us are hoping you’ll designate an area of the property for plants that grow in high desert without assistance. I think part of the area where those high tunnels used to be could be perfect for that. Maybe even wall it off to make it distinct. Or create a low berm to segregate those plants? You could even add a few faux boulders that you show us how to make from chicken wire and concrete!

Fresh wood chips as a mulch is awesome! I find that it breaks down faster in our yard. Organic food matter and it will help break up your hard pan. You should consider putting some around the orchard.
