Laura is one tough lady. I planted 1 bush in my yard today and I'm exhausted. I did use just a shovel and not a power planter. So the right tools DO make a difference. Thanks for all you do Laura, I've got 10 more plants to plant in my yard and it's all because of the motivation you have given me. ❤😊
It is contagious. Not only have I done my yard, but my beautiful sis, and we just got my mom done. I flower bombed them both. 😂😂💜💜. You are going to create something amazing. Keep us updated. Can't wait to see what you created. 🪴🪴🪴🌿🌿
Laura I know there are artists in your family. You've never talked about yourself as an artist but clearly your garden is your canvas. I love the way you think about placing plants so that they create a certain look and feel. 🎨
What a treat for the European here! I got to watch a GA video with my morning coffee instead of my midday break! Awesome, now i know what it feels like when viewers say 'Good morning' 😊 even my pup was tilting his head when he heard 'Hey guys!' So early in the day 😅 projects like these always feel great. Lots of ground covered! Pun intemded 🤗 have a great start to the new week everyone ❤
Yes, am going to weed, trim and deal with a border. Lots to do and am so thankful for the inspiration!!! Always a wonderful way to start the day!!! Am 78, still gardening❤❤❤
Age is nothing my dear.. Glad to hear you out and working and keeping busy. The best way to stay mobile and you are creating beauty at the same time. Keep going miss Gretchen. Much love to you!!!🪴🪴🌿🌿☕☕☕☕
What encouragement to know that you are still gardening! I will soon be 78 and still going, too. I am in process of setting up my gardens with perennials that don't require a lot of extra work so that as I age further I can continue gardening.
@@joydaniel597 I'm just behind you. I will be turning 50 and I love it. My momma who's turning 73 this year she's going strong and all over her property. She has 9 acres which only about 1/3 is cultivated. Keep on going my dear. I have a horrible back, so I am. Iam NO where near as fast as I used to be, however i am consistent and pretty much work all day. , but I will do exactly as you are, going until I can't any more. TO THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T GIVE UP!! cheers..!!☕☕🪴🪴🌿🌿💜💜💙💙💙💙
This is nice! Your videos don’t normally come out till lunchtime in the U.K. so having a really early video was lovely to watch while eating breakfast. ❤
We are in Aruba right now and the video says it posted at 2am! That’s it, I’m moving Aruba so I get them sooner 😂😂 Have a Fabulous day everyone, off to the beach where I can watch Garden Answer with my toes in the sand 😎🐠🌴
What a surprise to have a new video after 11:00 at night. Waiting for Wednesday as my kneeling pad is due to arrive. Now if I could just have a day without rain.
One of the biggest things your channel gave me was making drip irrigation easy and accessible. I’d never have tried it without watching you interact with it in your earlier videos. You might think about doing a couple videos about just normal irrigation daily tasks. Adding new plants, hitting a line and fixing it, monitoring for leaks, etc. I know Paul does most (all) of this now, but the new viewers are really missing out on the awesome education to make irrigation seem feasible for a regular homeowner.
Me too. I never even knew it was a possibility without the help of a professional. I am going to do it the house we purchase. Laura gave me loads of info. We turned a concrete rubble front and back garden with proper flower bed. Thanks Laura
Good morning Laura and G.A. friends! Laura your excitement is infectious! The random spinach plants were so funny. Can't wait to see all the blooms! That pink and white columbine is gorgeous! Have a blessed day 💞🪻💞
I've been watching you for over 4 years now. It's amazing everything you all have done in that time. How much your garden has grown. 😊 Watching your trees get big. Your kids are getting bigger. To get to be a part of that is pretty amazing. I can't wait till I can at least not see my neighbors would be amazing. With foliage 😊 thank you for our daily garden journey. ❤️
Laura, I live in NH . Our lupine grows in crummy soil all along our roadways. In full sun. I've tried to put in my beds for years, but it never takes. So I planted it on a bank with NO amendments, and it's doing just fine.
It's a bleak, damp morning here in Southern Ontario, Canada. I was feeling lazy and unmotivated to go out in the garden. Then I watched this video and now I can't wait to go out there and do my thing😄 "Let's get after it!" Laura, you are a gift of inspiration and gardening chutzpah! Sending you and your family all the best. Happy gardening everyone!
Any videos of this sort are always my favourite! Watching you fill up your garden slowly with beautiful things is such a precious process. I can't wait to see how it looks like after 5-10 years! (I really hope we can still get to see by then - I would definitely keep watching!)
Laura, when you were planting, my mind just kept slipping back to when the area was a ‘desert’… the soil used to be a sea of light, dusty dirt. Now, we get to see the results of all your amending with Land and Sea compost: beautiful, healthy and luscious-looking soil that supports such a variety of gorgeous plants! I am amazed at the transformation! Keep on doing what you’re doing - we all love it!!
This was a nice treat to wake up to, early, this morning. I don't know if it was on purpose or a happy accident, either way, it's always a treat to see Garden Answer in my list!
Thanks again for the inspiration! I’m two zones behind, my spring bulbs are just popping up and starting to open, and I’m beginning to pot up a lot of my seed starts. It’s always encouraging to watch you a couple of steps ahead and to feel excited for what’s to come in my gardens. 🌱🌿🌷
Sweet.....it's 11:13pm here in the coachella valley and your video popped in my notifications❤ I'm assuming this was the Saturday video. Love every video you post even if I can't plant a lot of plants you can. I have learned so much from you! Thank you!
I adore Lupine! The only one that has survived from the seedlings I grew is the one I planted in a very large concrete paver block bed that has REALLY good drainage. They don’t like clay or heavy soil, they like sandy free draining soil. My mom had the most BEAUTIFUL garden that was filled with Lupine, she lived on a lake in Minnesota and her soil was very sandy. When gardening became difficult for her she let that garden go and the Lupine took over, it was spectacular 🥰
Thank you for the early video Laura from Australia, we dont normally get them until around 10pm or 10.30 sometimes. Cant wait to see all these plants blooming in their full glory. They will be stunning x
Girl! You are a machine! ❤ I couldn’t imagine planting all those plants in one day! Thank you for showing us your winter showing successes and that you can plant directly from jugs into the landscape…I’ve always separated mine and grown them on in 4” pots…which leads to more expense! I’ll know for next year!
Gardening takes such caring for little plants ( in their pre blossum stage). They appreciate it...cause they live in such a quiet peace in "seedling" greenhouses...busy feasting on sun with wild nature contained outdoors 🌞🌱🌬🌨
I love your "canvas"!! Always ready to be planted. I wish I would have something close to your garden. In mine I have to fight against so many coral rocks, and roots! Planting any plant is a mission.
As someone who does not have to deal with that particular arachnid, I'm absolutely amazed at the calmness of "Later in the season it's almost a guarantee that everytime you open an irrigation box there's going to be a black widow in it."
Remember your reel from 2 or 3 years ago where the rust orange moth/butterfly showed up to dance around your arrangement? At that moment, I fell in love with Delft Blue nigella. That bloom looked hand-painted. So excited.
Oh my goodness those pink petticoats are gorgeous. Love those days you can just do what you want in your garden. So satisfying, peaceful and stress free. Did the excact same yesterday. Fabulous day! 💜🥀🌹🌷
I love it that I wake up in the morming in the Central European Time zone a get a new freshly uploaded GA video 🙂👍🏻 What a great start of the week 😉 (usually we get the videos at lunch time)
It is alot of work to get all these things planted but the benefits are priceless!! To be able to look and see all this beauty each day!!!❤❤❤❤❤ I have learned so much from watching Laura & Aaron. I smile 😊 when Aaron gets excited about trees. The children love and learn gardening which is wonderful!! Beautiful family-!!❤❤
Laura, you are definitely inspiring! I love watching you with all your enthusiasm for your garden. It makes me want to plant all types of flowers and vegetables. I have learned so much from watching your videos! Thank you for sharing❤️🎉
I have to agree with Aaron. I like the benches with the back. They add so much to that area. They don’t block the pots, they just add some beautiful interest.
Your garden is my garden Laura. After watching for the past six years it’s like home to me. I sure do enjoy your videos they have given me the gumption to try many different plants. Concerning your in ground plumbing box try spraying insecticide in it every month to discourage the black widows. This works for me very nicely.
Well, that was an unexpected treat! Much earlier than your videos usually appear Laura. 4:35pm here in Australia 🇦🇺 Normally they upload somewhere between 9pm to 10 pm at night & I decide they’ll have to wait until breakfast next morning. Gorgeous aquilegia. My nigella self sow. So do the zinnias which come afterwards. Just removed the last of the zinnias the other day as they’d run their course. So the bed is back to its mainstays to take it through winter.
Great video as always, your video is the first one I watch while drinking my coffee here in Northern California. Love your energy, keep up the good work.👍👍
Random projects are one of my favorites! Will those echinacea bloom this year? I so enjoy how your garden evolves. Flexible planning is the way to go! Love this channel. There are always beautiful things to look at and something new to learn.
I wish I could plant so many of the beautiful things that you plant. It's all so pretty. If I planted half of that, I would have to just add a sign that says open for dining. The deer, groundhogs, and rabbits would clear most of that out in no time. I love looking at your gardens!
We were in Maine last June and there were lupine growing wild everywhere. It was so beautiful! They were popping up in yards and culverts, just all over.
Morning Laura and everyone from Idaho. I love the randomness of all the planting today. Soooo informative. Love your videos as always. The south garden keeps getting fuller and fuller. I remember in one of your videos 2021 I believe, when you said, " I feel like I'm planting on mars" and now look at the geeeeorgeous area now. My goodness!!! The grass Aaron has put in, the pathways, it just gets better and better and more beautiful. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us later. Best time in the morning seeing my G A and my coffee and we are off to plant. Best part of my day. Thank you miss Laura. See you in the next one. 💜🌿🌿🪴🌳🌳🌳
I need to plant some hardy geraniums. I'm doing all perrenials this year. I have a bad knee and planting annuals every year is getting challenging. Thanks for the great ideas!!!
Bet you take a moment sometimes and look back to the day you moved into your property!!! I know every time you develop a new area,I look back through videos to the early days!!! What a lifetime of dreams and legacy you are building!!!❤❤
I just received my GA kneeling pad and am so pleased with my purchase!!!!! It definitely exceeds my expectations!!! I purchased a smaller kneeling pad about 25 yrs ago, it is made out of the same material as my new one. I didn't really think about not being able to get another like it, but until now hadn't had any luck finding one. Thank you for such quality merchandise !!! I just had my 69th b day so I'm thinking of getting another one, should last until I can no longer garden😂❤
i like quick weekend getaways but i miss my GA while we're gone.. good to be back, and so fun watching you just plant where you want... cannot wait for spring/summer garden tours!! 🥰❤thanks for the video!! 🥰❤
So bummed. Went to Gardner’s Supply in Hadley MA, which is the next town over from me, and I grabbed the last set of the paper pots and they told me they’ve been discontinued. I love these many project videos. They always seem super productive! Great job as always and thank you so much!!
I’ve been growing a similar columbine to the pink petticoat for years. Amazing how intricate the petals are-they do drop seed but it is easy to control them. I take the dried seed heads and shake them in spots where I want new ones 😊
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ . Always something great going on in Laura's garden. And an early video. Got to watch on the bus into work. Thanks again. Have a wonderful day 😊 ☺️
You got so much done today. What a beautiful landscape you have. I’m so excited for you, but yes it’s work to keep your landscape looking healthy and beautiful.
Wow this is early. Laura your such a hard worker. My favorite plant teacher. I was planting again yesterday. I planted a pot for the fence but I had to break them up because it was too big for the pot I was putting them in. The roots were so dry when I got finished some petunias and a couple potato vines were dropping wilted. Hopefully in the morning they will be bounced back. Your so creative using those milk cartons for seedlings.
Love your many little projects tucked in here and there. Can't wait to see them all in bloom. It's like waiting for a painting to be finished. Although, gardens are never really finished are they...lol
