Planting and growing ginger in pots in a temperate climate 

I used some store bought ginger, as it is treated with a growth retardant to stop it from sprouting prematurely, I soaked it in water for 24 hours, then changed the water and soaked for another 24 hours, to dissolve the growth inhibitor. and had some pretty shoots to plant out
