Oh my goodness! Erin from Floret is the one that burns the holes in her weed membrane. She’s a legend over here with a very inspirational TV show. We’re flower mad over here! I’m planning to burn the holes in my weed membrane next week. What a small world. The global gardening community is amazing 😻

Love that you call the kitchen torch a bunson burner. Haven't heard the term since high school. I am planning a small bed of strawberries this year-4X4 raised bed. Your tips about prep by hydrating roots and fertilizer are appreciated by a strawberry novice.

Great tip with the burner Steve🎉. Having watched this I think I plant my strawberries too close together. Interesting strawberry story. I have a large raised planter and last year, I had strawberries one end and peas the other. The strawberry sent out runners up under the peas. I was tidying this week and wanted to move the new plants that grew off the runners. They had massive roots compared to the original strawberries. I'm thinking they liked the nitrogen put down by the peas.

I started with 20 plants 2 seasons ago, and now have 375 plants (after giving 24 away). I've nearly 30 polytunnel hanging baskets, a few dozen 10L pots plus a 1.8 x 6m raised bed, so still might have loads of giveaways. Potting up strawberry runners can get extremely compulsive!

Hi Steve, so glad I watched your video. My Cambridge strawberries have just arrived with really long roots and I wondered if it was alright to trim the roots. Thank you for making me feel more confident.

I love the look of strawberries. I prefer other berries but I don’t turn down a fresh strawberry! Thank you for the video. Brilliant idea with the burner.

Hi Steve Thanks for the great content, do u start strawberries from seed? I was wondering if you could do a video showing this and follow them through the season. You simplify everything so it would be nice to follow your process. 👍🏾👍🏾
