Here in N.W.Ohio the garden centers stop when Fall season arrives( late Aug) except for mums and Asters it's such a downer because I plant pots for my apartment complex and the pickings are so few. Wish we had a place here like Andersons.
Whenever I see busts planted up I think, “They’ve got plants on the brain, just like me!” 😂 I love such abundant videos like this, Laura… Thank you for sharing so much with us. ❤
Hey, Laura, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you. I’ve had a rough week and an ER visit last night (I’ll be fine!), but I really needed a day in bed today to rest and recuperate, and I knew I needed and wanted to treat myself to some gentle/soft/good things today, too. Your vlog this morning of plant shopping with your mom, wandering around the garden center, and planting a little of this and that around the pond and in your lovely bust planters is exactly what I’d want to do on a good day to treat myself, so it was just the perfect thing today to get to follow along as you did all the puttering around and the things I’d love to be doing right now. Thank you for taking each of us along with you.❤ Your video was just what I needed today. 🥰
Take care ... gardening has saved me many times. Once I was sick and didn't realize what was going on. I took time to sit under a tree each evening... I made the decision to make a doctor's appointment. It took several visits along with tests. So just take your healing by sitting and resting and you will feel much better. I did see a post about sitting under a tree that can do wonders for health .
Could we see an update on the great big fountain basen you planted with flowers it’s my favorite out of everything it’s like a fairy tale it’s so beautiful! Thx
I love what you Mom does with the nursery. It is heavenly to go someplace that looks so lush and full. All my houseplants must be survivors. It's just too easy to forget them! The pond is so pretty. Love these early videos.
I found a beautiful head vase/ bust at Home Goods on clearance a few years ago. I have always used artificial with her for my living room. Right now, she has dried bunny tail grass and pampas along with silk hydrangea...in very neutral colors. Last August, I was in an annual design competition hosted in the horticulture building at the MinnesotaState Fair. The theme was 'Seasons'. My favorite season is fall. So I gathered flowers and branches from around my gardens along with other flowers from the flower shop and designed them using the head vase as my base. My entry was called, "Fall Blows My Mind" I placed in the Top 6 out of 46 professional floral designers and got to compete live on stage in the finals. I love your mom and her gentle nudging to encourage you to buy what you love ♡
Have you ever thought of doing a long time lapse video showing the development of an area over the years? Amazing to see how much has happened around your pond area already. Would love to see the evolution of the dream stream area -you could mount a camera on your barn overlooking that area!
Laura, you are such a wonderful teacher. Your instructions empower women, and children, to go beyond their comfort zone. I'm "76," and I wish I had had someone like you, when I was younger, to show me how easy it is to do various projects. Your channel also exemplifies how loving and kind a husband, and family can aspire to be. Thank you, for being a great example of how we all can be a part of healing our beloved country.
I like how the bust planter’s turned out. They looked lovely in your room which is also lovely. I think you have a great style. Thanks for all the work you put into your videos to make them enjoyable.
Your mom, what a hoot! “I’ve got more carts” 😂 There must be a common gene running through all gardeners because I just about shouted “ Get another cart!” 😆
I have to tell you that I look forward to your videos every day. I learn so much and it’s so relaxing it’s definitely a bright spot in my day. I also love the absolute magical life you are able to give to your kids.❤️ Thank you for your talent, teaching and opening up your beautiful world to the rest of us.
Such a perfect relaxing video. I love anytime you include the pond area and those busts with ferns were absolutely amazing! Your mom’s appearance was icing on the cake!
Love love love. Who else was nervous about the way Laura was handling those busted planters 😮😅 I was a ball of nervous the way they kept hitting the table. 😮😅
I wish I could post a picture here. I have a small collection of bust planters & I have them displayed together, much like Laura has done with hers. The difference is I probably have at least one dozen of them.😊
The busts in front of your picture window look so pretty and those peachy color chairs are beautiful with the color of your walls ! Not only do you create beauttiful design outside but your home is equally beautifully put together.
Good Morning! 🌻 I love your Mom. She always puts me in a positive mood! I love hearing the pond in the background, so relaxing! I love those head planters! I need to add to my collection!💦💙🗿🌿
I'm sitting in an airport terminal on my way home from my first cruise and realized I am 8 or 9 days behind in watching Garden Answer. Norway has flowers everywhere - most are the same we grow in Kansas City. The Norwegian Fjords are a must see for anyone interested in an adventure.
I love the variety of plants your parent’s garden center offer. Our local garden centers lack anything “special”. I’ve had to order several items from a nursery in Georgia. And yes, I’ve spoken to these garden centers in hopes of being able to shop local, but none of them seem interested in ordering anything not basic. 🤷🏻♀️
I’ve been watching your channel for years! I really love your style, and how you don’t cover up your windows so you can see into the garden. I feel like the view into the garden is so important.
Laura, I love the houseplants! The lady vases are so classy and elegant. I can see your Victoria magazine inspiration there too. You and your family are sure to enjoy them 😊
Bust planters are such a cheeky way to display house plants. Whenever I have ferns, I put an alarm in my phone to remind me to water them. Even then, they sometimes dry up. Love these ladies in their new ferny hairdos. ~ Lisa
I finally found a garden center in my area that restocks all summer!! So excited! Thanks for all the inspiration. You and your mom are the best...more carts!!
Good morning! Always a great choice of plants at the Garden Center. If you can’t find something there you can’t find it anywhere! You placed those planters on beautiful surfaces. Everything looks so pretty.
The bust planters are wonderful! We have always called the dustpan and broom a 'silent butler'. Very handy for those types of mess. The ferns all look amazing in those busts. The large one is also my favorite. She is very beautiful. As a matter of fact all of the plants are gorgeous. The begonia is awesome in the glass case!💕🤗💕
Susan, THANK YOU for thinking of the gardener......after weeding yesterday and watching your visit with Mom at the garden center- I went to ours......:-( I am in the east with all the rain.....nothing like what you have at Anderson!!! Lucky Laura! I can dream. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you Laura, I love the head planters. I have 3 of them and just love them. The plants around the pond looked beautiful.😍 Your sweet mama had the right idea 💡 I have more carts she's so cute. She thought you might could use more carts lol. Thanks for sharing. God's blessings ❤😊
Laura is a girl after my own heart. I collect bus planters. I have at least one dozen, but probably closer to 15 of them. I have them displayed with different house plants around my living room. I absolutely love them. ❤👤
I just adore your mom and the garden center. I live in NW Arizona now and I love making the garden center a pit stop on my way home from visiting my family in Oregon. My echinacea I got a month ago is doing fantastic!
Wow, just beautiful, perfection. Love the sculpture planters on tables. Warms everything up. If you eat banana put the peel in an empty milk carton fill it up with water when watering add a cup of your banana water to your bucket of water. Your plants will love it! Great Episode.
Laura, the design style in your home is lovely and classic. The potted plants look wonderful in their new pots and on your gorgeous tables. Thank you for sharing your styling ideas with us.
Laura- what do you think about putting it here? Me- yes,yes I know you can't hear me when I ask a question, but I give you my opinion. 😊 I am daydreaming about walking your property and looking at all of the beauty surrounding me, then sitting down at the pond area with my feet swinging in the water, listening to Benjamin and Samantha playing in the background with a smile on face. So relaxing.
“I’ve proven to myself that I can keep them alive.” Laura, you have kept more plants alive than I knew existed! My house plants suffer in the summer because I’m concentrating on all the outside plants and I forget to water the inside ones regularly. Thinking that is the only issue you have as well!
We kept having critters dig up our freshly planted shrubs and flowers. They didn't want the plant, but dug down to the roots. It has never been a problem in the past. Then, we walked onto our deck and all our Biotone was scattered throughout. They (raccoons) are trying to get to the Biotone! Hum... We have been using Biotone this Spring and Summer. So... guess we need to go back to our other fertilizer. 😢
Do you know I never liked head planters .I always thought they looked dumb until I saw you. Plant them up with ferns. They look great. They look like they got Easter Sunday hats on ! quite beautiful ! and of course I love the geraniums with the Rubeckia out by the pond. Those colors together are wonderful.
The placement of all the bust planters was so pretty. I like how you can see the Persephone from the window. I really love the mini greenhouse with the begonia, the colors in the grouping are perfect together. I’m definitely going to be on the look out for that begonia when it becomes available, it’s gorgeous.
I never think I like bust planters until you plant them. And every time I’m like Oooo pretty 😍 😂 I think it’s the style too. They look wistful and elegant. Not crazy or wild.
I can see the inspiration of the pond tours rubbing off on you! You're letting some color creep in next to the pond! 🙌 I think both looks are beautiful, but we all know you're going to plant it up! Go for it!! 🏃♀️😁
I have been watching your garden content for years and this is the first time I recall seeing this much of the inside of your home. It’s just as lovely as expected! Home tour in a future video??
