We had a JD 1250 planter, 6 row 30in spacing, it had the finger pickup, very good machine. We have a 7000, 4 row now, that is a good planter also, looks like your planter is in good shape, that old Oliver sounds good too. Good video, keep em coming, and God bless!
In 1979 we planted over 200 acres of corn with a 494A stopping every 3 rounds on 1/2 mile rows to fill fertilizer boxes. After that we went to broadcast but still had the planter to do 400 acres of row crops half corn half beans. Some of the subsequent years had set asides of 10 to 50 percent, reducing the total. Good memories.
Brings back some great memories. We farmed with Farmall's and Oliver's. We had a Super 88 Diesel. Almost all our neighbors had the same planter as you, we had a 4 row 56 IH Planter, worked good except for the markers not tripping correctly too.
@@rogermiller7411 it's been 20 years since I used one, but I would probably pull chains out and inspect them. You could maybe ask crazydave4455, they have a 1240, I believe.
